| Description |
Dickey's Bluff was recently built in 2020 and is situated on the west shore of Swan Lake. The location commands an expansive northerly vista of the lake. Relax in the shade of the overhanging roof and watch families of mallard ducks paddle by. Loons, eagles and other birdlife can be spotted. Stairs at one end of the property lead to a 65 foot beach with a dock and float for swimming, sunning and fishing. Another staircase leads down to a concrete terrace that skirts the shoreline. The overall frontage is 275 feet. On a calm morning, a sparkling midday, or cool evening you are welcome to paddle kayaks or canoe. The living area has a curved wall with large windows and vaulted ceiling. In the daytime the room feels airy and spacious. Indirect lighting at nighttime creates a cozy atmosphere. Whether sitting at the table or loafing in a chair, the lake view is front and center. There is Wi-Fi with Roku/Spectrum television in both living room and master bedroom.
A landline telephone is also provided.
Zoned radiant heat provides warmth during chilly weather. The kitchen includes a dishwasher and is fully furnished with cooking and dining ware. Water source is the lake. Bottled water for drinking and cooking is provided with a Primo water dispenser. The bathroom has a step in shower, a washer and dryer. Linens are provided and include swim towels in case you run short. Two bedrooms will accommodate six people. One has a queen-size bed; the other also has a queen-size bed and a set of bunk beds. There is plenty of closet space. In the yard are a gas grill, small fire pit, lawn chairs and picnic table. The camp is also available for autumn foliage and hunting seasons, and winter sports. Swan Lake Grocery store is a 10 minute walk at half a mile away. The municipal boat launch is just 2/10 of a mile down the road. From this cottage it is a ten minute drive (7 miles) to Belfast, Searsport, and Penobscot Bay; 45 minutes to Bangor or Camden; about 75 minutes to Bar Harbor; and about 2 hours to Portland.

"We stayed at this beautiful cottage for 5 days in October. It’s very clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Those big windows bring the lake view right inside. We used the binoculars and nature guides to identify the birds we saw – loons, ducks, and a bald eagle! The full kitchen had everything to cook a meal and the gas grill out the back door was handy for grilling steak and chicken. We popped down to Searsport and Belfast for shopping and seafood restaurants. We sunned ourselves on the beach, toasted marshmallows around the fire ring, and turned off all the lights to sit in the backyard at night to enjoy a dark sky with so many stars. What a wonderful place to kick back, relax, and enjoy watching the leaves change! I look forward to returning again. "

Beautiful lake! Like new inside. Owner leaves amazing amenities and everything you need for a great vacation stay right on the water! The boat launch is walkable from the house. So convenient! Very close to Belfast and Bangor and Acadia National Park are not too far! Laundry on site, can’t say enough. We had a GREAT time!"

If you are looking for a spot to relax watching wildlife on the lake, or jump into a boat and try some fishing.....this IS the place. Our family will be coming back for years to come. "
