Kerr Lake is the perfect vacation spot. Whether you are looking for water sports, fishing, strolling through small town America, participating in old style festivals or enjoying the peace and quiet on one of our coves, Clarksville and the lake have what you are looking for. Visit our wonderful state park, Occoneechee Park, where you will find a Splash Park and plenty of trails for hiking, running or cycling. You can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and jet skis. Boat to downtown Clarksville and dock your boat for free at the municipal docks. You can stroll the quaint turn-of-the-century downtown Clarksville with its many unique shops or dine at one of the many restaurants. We have several excellent restaurants, from casual to fine dining. Some offer live music and entertainment. Archery? We've got it. You don't have to be a member to play golf at our local Donald Ross designed country club golf course, Kinderton Country Club. Kinderton also offers water aerobics to the public Monday thru Friday. There are local pilots who offer helicopter rides. Want to find the best fishing holes? We have several knowledgeable fishing guides. Visit the Kerr Lake Dam and see the turbines generating electricity. If you come during the 3rd weekend in July, you can enjoy Lakefest (Virginia Lake Festival), one of the top festivals in the southeast: music, food, street vendors, children's rides, fireworks, sand sculpture, hot air balloon rides, helicopter rides. The 1st Saturday of each month (April-October), Clarksville has a Cruise In with antique and exotic cars on display. The 1st Sat. night of every month May-October offers live music and dancing outside under the stars on the corner of 5th St. and Virginia Ave. Coming for a lake vacation but have no boat? Don't worry. There are boat rentals available in town too, just book them early.
