We had a wonderful time during our cabin vacation and would absolutely recommend this place to others. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and a great getaway for our trip. The location and overall setup made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. That said, there are a couple of things that could be improved. The cabin could really use a deep cleaning, and it would be helpful to have extra bed linens available. One of the beds had pillows without pillowcases, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, we weren’t able to use the grill during our stay because it was missing the drip pan that catches the drippings, and the gas tank was covered in grease from previous guests. Overall, we still had a great experience and would stay again — just hoping those small details can be addressed for future guests!" The cabin was perfect with a great number of actual bedrooms rather than loft spaces. It had a great view of the mountain ridge without having to look at other rooftops surrounding your cabin. You are about 15 minutes from a grocery store and about 30 minutes from the main drag in Pigeon Forge. If you want an opportunity to have a visitor, this is it. We had a black bear take a path right up next to our cabin, check out our fire pit and take in the view from the deck! I would highly recommend Hang Tenn! We will definitely be staying here again! The lack of care shown by staff with our issues is appalling. Upon arriving, the cabin was in a filthy condition, it looked like someone came into the cabin after the cabin was "supposedly" cleaned, there were issues in almost every room of the cabin. None of the drains in the jacuzzi tubs worked, maintenance had to be called to fix those. The sheets were dirty and had bugs and dirt in them, sawdust/dirt was tracked throughout the cabin, bathrooms were filthy (a used toilet plunger with crusty toilet paper hanging off of it was left in the open floor - totally unsanitary), sinks and tubs were not cleaned, only one side of the oven worked in the kitchen, boogers were stuck onto the upstairs tub. Mice and rodents are in the walls of the cabin, you could hear them every night. Nails are popping up all over the wrap around deck. Trash is littered all around the outskirts of the cabin. I have photo evidence of everything that is time-stamped when we arrived. We were told our issues would be elevated to someone at the resort and we would be hearing from someone regarding how unsatisfied we were (after the 3rd call to Elk Springs). No one ever called, it shows a complete lack of care in how your business is ran. Cleaning came out after the first call and they sent a text asking how they did, and when I told them the cabin was still filthy and the issues were not remedied, they said they have picture proof from the crew that the issues were resolved. I said, "I don't know what to tell you, the filthy plunger is literally still sitting here in my bathroom in the same spot, it was not touched." I was angered that they insinuated I was not telling the truth. I have photo evidence of everything. We've stayed in the Smokies every year, and will be sure not to rent from Elk Springs ever again. Lastly, check in was at 3, but we did not receive a code to get in yet. We arrived around 3:15 and there were still cleaners at the cabin who let us in. This cabin was in a fantastic location that made it easy to get out and do activities and explore. We did have a couple hiccups - our cabin door was left open when we arrived so we had to do a sweep for any visitors that made their way in. The dishes from the previous guest were still in the dish washer and the jetted tubs needed some attention. The windows on the main floor were all damaged so we couldn't open any of them to enjoy the mountain breeze and it left the cabin smelling a bit stale. All of this however did not take away from enjoying the beautiful view or all that the smoky mountains have to offer. While this cabin is one we won't use as it's better suited for big families or multiple parties to enjoy, we will stay with Elk Springs again. It's also worth noting we did let management know and they offered to come out and were very helpful. We wanted to enjoy our time away so we declined and just enjoyed the cabin as is. Very accommodating and they pick up or call back within minutes of calling - even on the weekend. The rental staff were friendly, and very attentive with any issues that arise. I highly recommend utilizing their service. We will absolutely be back and we will only utilize Elk Springs for rentals in this area. Hot tub was warm and clean, because it’s cleaned between guests and filled it was cold when we arrived but had heated to the actual temp within hours. The management was responsive to our maintenance needs and the maintenance staff were friendly. Loved the game room and the TVs all worked. The furniture was solid but couches should be replaced soon. Fireplace would not stay working and despite being fixed by maintenance twice during our stay, it would not start back up after it was in use right after maintenance left. We planned our trip around a 3pm check in, but I overlooked that that time was not a guarantee. After killing time for a few hours, we finally showed up at 5:30pm and the cleaning crew was still at work with plenty left to do. They were very friendly but I'm sure they felt rushed to get out but we had a baby with us so we needed to get out of the car and get set up. The hot tub was half full with cold water so had to call maintenance to fill and start the heating process, therefore we were not able to use the tub until the next day. Cabin was on the older side and mid level construction quality and showed the heavy wear and tear of a rental. Limited supplies of TP and garbage sacks and no shampoo bottles and no coffee filters. There was also a Big Brown Bat living in the rafters, but it never got inside, we just heard it squeaking around at night and then saw it fly away through an exit at the roof peak over the deck. We live in the woods, so nothing we couldn't handle. Overall, the manager communicated well but I didn't want to spend my time gripping about all the little issues, we just tried to get the hot tub and fireplace running to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family. The views were beautiful, and we were in a great overall location with lots to do within a short drive. The bad The pictures make the cabin look bigger than it actually is. The "theater" was just a projector in the basement with a couch. The mattresses outside of the master bedroom were pretty uncomfortable and my mom had a hard time sleeping. Some of the lights (most of the bulbs were LED) had a flicker and needed the bulbs replaced. When we arrived it was pretty clear that it was cleaned rather quickly as there were dead bugs and a few other issues when we arrived. It also would have been nice if we didn't have to buy our own garbage bags, paper towels (only 1 roll was provided) and toilet paper (only one roll in each bathroom for the 5 day stay). The cabin was spacious, clean, and well decorated. Our kids loved the movie theater and games downstairs. We enjoyed making smores in the fire pit area and watching the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub. Did I mention the view? Simply amazing! The cabin location offered us the best of best worlds – close proximity to the main attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but also far enough away that we could enjoy the quiet, picturesque Tennessee countryside. We cooked several meals in the kitchen which was well appointed and went out to a couple local restaurants right down the road. The best part of Hang Tenn was seeing bears every day. We walked inside and the cabin was over flowing with trash and a sink full of dishes. We didn’t get to check in until 6pm. We opened the couch in the theater room and the mattress looked like it had a lot of blood on it. The master was tremendously cold if you had the ac on even with all the registers closed. We enjoyed the deck with all the rocking chairs, but it seems funny to have that many chairs and only have one little side table. The cabin was itself was great with a wonderful view. Major downfall was a mouse had died in the vent of one of the downstairs rooms which made anyone unable to use it because of the horrendous smell! We booked a 4 bedroom cabin because we needed 4 bedrooms! Maintenance man did come and he was super nice, he removed the mouse and left us a can of of glade air freshener. The room was still unusable end the maintenance had to stick a towel in the vent to keep the smell from coming on into the cabin. We never heard from anyone else to apologize or try and make it right with us. It’s beyond ridiculous that we payed for so many rooms, we even upgraded our cabin a month prior to this one to have the right about of space for our family and we still didn’t. The cabin had everything we needed with great views of the mountains. Elk Springs Resort provided this cabin as an alternative to the one we had originally rented due to some plumbing issues with it. The cabin is well maintained and spacious. We lived the hot tub and the fire pit. The location is great with a nice road to drive up to the cabin. Google sends you to the wrong address but there is a sign down the road with the cabin name on it. My only complaint would be that the fourth bedroom has bunk beds that are not comfortable for older couples to sleep. Our group consisted of 4 couples.
