"Peaceful Hideaway review This was our first time staying with you guys however customer service was fantastic and very helpful but our stay was not always great from the time we got there it looked like the cabin was not thoroughly cleaned and the dishes that we wanted to use needed all rewashed they were dirty then the air conditioning unit stopped working they came to fix it said they did in the next day it was off again which as you know was a very hot week in Tennessee. Next guy came and fixed it properly and it worked the rest of the time however something needs to be done for the air conditioning on the third floor because it cannot keep up it's always warmer up there and that's where our bedroom was. Then we reported that the electricity was off which could not be anyone's fault and everyone in customer service was very helpful. The reception on the television's were absolutely terrible I asked a guy who was there to look and fix it and he said he had no idea what was wrong with it could not watch it because it was glitching constantly. So we definitely were not 100% satisfied with our stay that cabin definitely needs some more love and attention to it. We come down to Tennessee every year for the last 15 years and every cabin we have stayed in has definitely had a lot more loving touches to it meaning there was more things provided than this cabin did there was nothing there but basics and that was stretching it. Also in each shower there is spider webs up around the top collecting dirt and around the mirrors in the bathrooms. There are several nearby cabins undergoing construction so we were awoken at 8am every day by their noise. This cabin only offers streaming services for internet & the connection is terrible, even with calling customer support. The cleaning company did a very rushed job..dried cleaning spray on the refrigerator & kitchen cabinets, pink stuffing in the main bathroom vents, someone else's hair left along the stairs, blood stain on the downstairs bedroom comforter. The projector in the theater room was not easy to get to work, even following their directions. The kids enjoyed the air hockey, foosball, darts, & arcade game. While not an awful stay, I would look elsewhere first when planning another visit." There were a few hiccups, but the resort team was available right away and got things fixed. I would recommend bringing some Blu-Rays with you if you plan on using the theater. The main bedroom is right by the road, and there was construction going on, so it was a little noisy in the morning. We would definitely go back!" However, the cleaning from the previous guest was rushed to get us in on time. Spider webs in the corners, hair in the bathrooms baths and floors, bread crumbs in the living room! Wi fi was terrible, we couldn’t watch anything on beautiful flat screen tv’s throughout the cabin. Maintenance guy had to come to help us use the theater room. Even though the projector set up was wonderful perk, we could only use Netflix. Hit tub was not Hot on the arrival, we had to wait until the next day to use it. The most concerning feature was the safety of the railing upstairs next to the pool. The screws are not bolted all the way into the beam, so if someone leans on it, they could fall down into the living room. Elk Springs, you myst fix this ASAP! Again, beautiful property but the lack of service made our stay less enjoyable. It was a nice looking place but would have been nice to know you had to scale a pretty steep upgrade. Would also been nice to know that the water quality was brown. The pool table was nice but unlevel and almost unplayable. The cabin was clean but needed some TLC (spider webs). Also didn't have cable and internet was so poor you couldn't stream. Main level shower leaks into bathroom. The outdoor accent lighting was not working. There was no security to keep strangers off the decks. There was plenty of space interior and exterior. Parking would also be difficult with more than 2 vehicles." Oct 08, 2025 - , Rossville, TN "Peaceful but disappointing Hideaway Loved the cabin, just not everything how about the cabin. Thinking I would be helping Elk springs out I let them know that we would be arriving an hour and a half late at 4:30. As it turns out we didn’t get there until 5:00 but the cleaning was still in the cabin working! The second disappointment was that it didn’t even have any cable TV, just the Samsung streaming channels that came built into the TV. Or you could use one of many streaming channels if you had a subscription with them. This leads me to my third disappointment which was the horribly slow Internet speed they caused the streaming TV’S to freeze every 10 to 20 seconds. While I did report it and they did dispatch someone out very quickly there was nothing he could do to remedy it as the problem was with the Internet service provider AT&T. I then called oak springs to request that they put a call into AT&T to see if they can reset the account or fix it and I specifically asked the person not to send anyone to the cabin to disturb us but that’s exactly what they did. Common sense says that they’ve already dispatched someone out for this problem and they could not rectify it so why send someone else to disturb us? It seemed a shame to have a cabin equipped with so many nice TV’S with nothing to watch unless you don’t mind your program freezing every 10 to 20 seconds. As an IT professional by trade I ran a speed test on the router and it was only running between 7 to 14 Mega bits per second. The average “basic” speed these days are around 200 Mbps. Another disappointment was it was warm and clammy upstairs even though I had the air conditioning set on 74. On about the fourth day I looked into it and discovered the outdoor compressor wasn’t even kicking on for the upstairs zone and was out of service. It had been that way from the first night so the inspection maintenance crew missed it if they did an inspection. The only thing we had a problem with was that the heater wasn’t working very well downstairs. It stayed pretty cold. But it didn’t bother us too bad. The games and theater room was really fun. And the hot tub being more secluded was nice. The fire pit was wonderful, we just didn’t really use it due to the rainy weather. Toothpaste splashes still in the sinks. Toothpaste splashes around the mirrors. Fireplace in one of the bedrooms had a spill on the glass. There was trash left in the kitchen trash. There were spots on the floor that had not been cleaned up as well. The shower walls had soap residue on them. I feel the bare minimal is taking place by the cleaning crew. New build so everything is nice and up to date. Copper vessel sinks, walk in glass showers. Comfortable beds. My only real issue is the kitchen. It has a single over sized sink. While nice to look at, it's not functional for doing dishes. There is a dish washer but we prefer to hand wash at every meal. The vessel sinks were a bit high for the little one, 4yo,to use. He had to stand on a chair and even then not the easiest! Out door gas fire pit was and chairs were very nice in the evenings. The hot tube is hidden away. The games were all in working order. Can't comment on the movie room, we didn't use it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It's a thumbs up for recommendations. 20 min to Gatlinburg. Gas and groceries are even closer. Pitman center was a good location for us. If you get the chance to stop at Speedys for breakfast you won't regret the drive. Worth it every time!
