Playa Caribe 9 is a third-floor condo in Akumal’s south tower, combining Caribbean charm with spacious design. This 1,420 sq ft vacation home sleeps up to six guests in two ensuite bedrooms, each with remodeled bathrooms and double sinks. The primary suite has a king bed and private balcony, while the guest suite offers two full beds and its own balcony. The living and dining area open through wide sliding doors to a furnished terrace, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor flow. The kitchen is fully stocked with modern appliances and a breakfast bar, perfect for easy meals or entertaining. Cultural artwork and handicrafts bring a sense of place, while central air conditioning throughout ensures year-round comfort. Guests may also let in the Caribbean breezes by opening sliding glass doors across the three patios. Shared amenities include a beachfront swimming pool, loungers, BBQ grill, and outdoor shower. Services include a welcome basket, daily housekeeping, concierge support, parking, purified water, and beach towels. Half Moon Bay has a sandy shoreline mixed with coral from the reef—water shoes are advised. Playa Caribe is known for attentive service and its prime location. Daily housekeeping service is provided. Parking, beach towels, and purified water are provided. KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry. The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Our family of 4 had a great week at Playa Caribe #9. Plenty of restaurants and things to do close by, and even more closer to town/Akumal Beach after a 20 minute walk. We all enjoyed the pool, walking along the beach, snorkeling in Half Moon Bay, and listening to the waves crash at night. Recommend breakfast at the Jungla Cafe and Buena Vida was our favorite dinner spot. Also spent a day at Akumal Beach near the resorts, with excellent snorkeling. We also visited the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary, a 10-minute cab ride from town. Really a great trip, and would recommend! The location is great except when the sargassum grass comes in as Playa Caribe is in the middle of the bay where it accumulates. A couple of comments for planning your menu - there is no conventional oven (a toaster oven too small for pizza's) and there is no gas grill on the property for grilling. The daily housecleaning is fabulous & so appreciated. Loco ****** was very responsive during the process. If we ever return to Akumal, we would stay at Playa Caribe again." The staff is amazing-able to answer all questions and get anything you need! However, the beach is limited. Erosion is occurring and shrinking the amount of beachfront here. In addition, sargassum is abundant and not really removed from the beach area. Also, be prepared for a very rocky entry into the ocean. Water shoes didn't help that much on windy days. Rocks are abundant and will impact your ability to wade in to the ocean. The staff does a great job cleaning condo beachfront chairs but daily sargassum is a major problem in this area.
