Gaze at the black night sky at the moon and her stars, and let the breezes caress your cheeks. Enjoy the Latin romance and sway to the rhythms of your happy heartbeat. Enjoy a morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the pool and sea while thinking about how different this is from back home. This unit is more like a home than a vacation rental. The panoramic view of the ocean, almost to infinity, can be seen from most areas in the condo--from bed when you wake up, when you eat dinner at the dining table or the breakfast nook, when you cook meals, lounge in the living room or sit on the outside terrace. Imagine beholding the azure seas and hearing the lullaby of the wavelets as you relax. KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry. The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. There is so much to see and do in this special place, we know that you will have an amazing and memorable vacation! Playa Caribe #9 is a luxury condo with all the conveniences we norteños expect: -welcome basket upon arrival, of snacks and fruit to eliminate the munchies -on site office with manager, nighttime security (a deterrent), off street parking -spacious condo at 1420 sq ft can easily accommodate 6 people (the maximum) -central air conditioning whose thermostat you can regulate yourself; very few condos in Akumal offer this. Or you can open the large sliding window doors to let in the ocean breezes. -beachside infinity pool -large sliding glass doors span the 3 patios for un-compromised beach views -2 bedrooms, each with its own bath, double sinks in both. Both have recently been remodeled. -beautifully appointed furnishings -many cultural art objects, with paintings (some I did myself) and handicrafts -daily maid service so you never have to make your bed or do your dishes, unless you want to

CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations are effective on the date written notice is received by fax or e-mail in our office. If a refund is applicable, refund payment will be processed within 2-4 weeks of cancellation notice and will be in the form of US Check or refund to credit card account.

The following assessments will apply to cancellations: A fee of 5% of the total reservation amount will be applied to all cancelled reservations.

Cancellation prior to 60 days from arrival date will result in a cancelation fee of 5% of the Total Rent.
Cancellation 31 - 59 days from arrival date will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the Total Rent.
Cancellation less than 60 days prior to arrival date will result in the forfeit of 100% of Total Rent.

Cancellation for any holiday reservation (Christmas, New Year's, Easter, and Thanksgiving weeks) will result in the forfeit of 100% of Total Rent. Some property owners will authorize rescheduling or credit towards a future stay. This strictly depends on the individual property owner and can not be guaranteed without authorization from said owner.

Your reservation may not be subject to refund in case of cancellation due to Hurricane, natural disaster, or other "acts of god". We strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance to protect your vacation investment.

Our family of 4 had a great week at Playa Caribe #9. Plenty of restaurants and things to do close by, and even more closer to town/Akumal Beach after a 20 minute walk. Quiet, clean, amazing views, beautiful beach at your doorstep, and very comfortable for a family our size. We all enjoyed the pool, walking along the beach, snorkeling in Half Moon Bay, and listening to the waves crash at night. Recommend breakfast at the Jungla Cafe and Buena Vida was our favorite dinner spot. Also spent a day at Akumal Beach near the resorts, with excellent snorkeling. We also visited the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary, a 10-minute cab ride from town. Really a great trip, and would recommend! The location is great except when the sargassum grass comes in as Playa Caribe is in the middle of the bay where it accumulates. A couple of comments for planning your menu - there is no conventional oven (a toaster oven too small for pizza's) and there is no gas grill on the property for grilling. We were told there would be salt & pepper, eventually found salt though we'd purchased one by then. There were no coffee filters but the maid found some for us when requested. The daily housecleaning is fabulous & so appreciated. Loco ****** was very responsive during the process. If we ever return to Akumal, we would stay at Playa Caribe again." The staff is amazing-able to answer all questions and get anything you need! However, the beach is limited. Erosion is occurring and shrinking the amount of beachfront here. In addition, sargassum is abundant and not really removed from the beach area. Also, be prepared for a very rocky entry into the ocean. Water shoes didn't help that much on windy days. Rocks are abundant and will impact your ability to wade in to the ocean. The staff does a great job cleaning condo beachfront chairs but daily sargassum is a major problem in this area.
