The Playa Caribe Studio units are located on the street side of the property. The beach is just a few steps away. The swimming pool is also located on the oceanside of the property. The beach and pool area have lounge chairs and shade palapas for guests to enjoy. KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry. The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations are effective on the date written notice is received by fax or e-mail in our office. If a refund is applicable, refund payment will be processed within 2-4 weeks of cancellation notice and will be in the form of US Check or refund to credit card account.

The following assessments will apply to cancellations: A fee of 5% of the total reservation amount will be applied to all cancelled reservations.

Cancellation prior to 60 days from arrival date will result in a cancelation fee of 5% of the Total Rent.
Cancellation 31 - 59 days from arrival date will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the Total Rent.
Cancellation less than 60 days prior to arrival date will result in the forfeit of 100% of Total Rent.

Cancellation for any holiday reservation (Christmas, New Year's, Easter, and Thanksgiving weeks) will result in the forfeit of 100% of Total Rent. Some property owners will authorize rescheduling or credit towards a future stay. This strictly depends on the individual property owner and can not be guaranteed without authorization from said owner.

Your reservation may not be subject to refund in case of cancellation due to Hurricane, natural disaster, or other "acts of god". We strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance to protect your vacation investment.

Visitor Reviews (15) Write a Review! "Nice accommidation in a quite location The location was very quite at least in late February when we spent a week there. The walk to "downtown" Akumal took maybe 20-25 minutes of brisk walking, so not super close by but ok. We were a little disappointed that there were not that many restaurants nearby - two restaurants within ~5 minute walking distance and a maybe 2-4 others in downtown Akumal. Akumal was really quite during the evening times - it seems that people spend time in their resorts and condos and as a result there was not much things to do or see in the evening outside of the hotel. No street food vendors etc which would have been nice if you are not staying in an all inclusive resort. The accommodation itself was very clean and nice. A big plus to the fact that drinking water was provided free of charge as much as you needed, so you avoid the extra hassle of buying and carrying water. The room was relatively small with no windows, but ok for four persons as there were closets where you can put you luggage into. The kitchen was very well equipped! The hotel pool was very small and there was space for maybe six sunbeds at the pool area. This was not a problem during our stay as our family was most of the time only ones there. The same goes for the beach; there were only maybe ten sunbeds in the hotel's beach area which was quite tiny. The strip of sand between the hotel stairs and the sea was very narrow, only a few meters. The beach in front of the hotel (Half Moon Bay) was very calm, quite, and nice. The Akumal beach however was very crowded and busy - we were also disappointed by the fact that you have to pay to enter that beach, i.e. no public beach access in Akumal. Overall I recommend this accommodation and Akumal if you are looking for a quite place to relax. Akumal is nicely located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and it was really easy to go there by Colectivo, a local minivan/bus service which was very cheap and convenient. The dehumidifier was greatly appreciated. Plenty of dishes, utensils & serving pieces in the kitchen. The beds are very firm. Studios are on the back side of the building facing the road with only 2 windows ( Kitchen door w/blinds and bathroom which also has a glass frosted door). The lights from the property shined in all night long so if you like to sleep in complete dark good luck. We didn’t hear any traffic noise. The property & beach was clean. Pool is nice overlooking the ocean however I had to clean it with the skimmer when we used it. Plenty of pool floaties on hand. In my opinion the pool lights should to be kept on after dark for safety purposes. Beach is somewhat rocky so water shoes are advised. My husband saw sea turtles, various rays & more while snorkeling in front of the condos. The security guard (Daniel) didn’t do much except set in front of his laptop or sleep in one of the beach loungers instead of walking the grounds with a flash light. The housekeeping service was excellent! Glenn & Barb who own & are residents in Studio Annette were amazing. So very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay and we would return to Playa Caribe.
