Our Poipu rentals at Kahala at Poipu Kai share a wide variety of resort amenities. Kahala has its own swimming pool and jacuzzi and shares tennis courts with other units at the Poipu Kai complex. The tennis courts and pool are conveniently close to Kahala 123. A pleasant stroll through the grounds brings you to Brennecke's beach, and to the Poipu Beach Park just on the other side of that. The Poipu Beach Park is a sheltered white sand beach that's perfect for children to wade and swim. Several dining options are also within walking distance, like Kalapaki Joe's, the westernmost sports bar and grill in the United States! A very short walk across the grounds and you'll be able to enjoy happy hour, Taco Tuesdays, poke bowls, burgers and more. Brennecke's Beach Broiler is only a couple minutes farther on foot. You can enjoy your day at the beach then stop in for anything from shave ice to sushi, or some of the best fish and chips around. Kahala 123 is a spacious 1br/1ba with an ocean view. There are lovely wood floors throughout, and a private lanai where you can enjoy an informal al fresco meal while watching the ocean. The full kitchen means you can prepare your own meals and dine privately at home, though if you want to go out, Kalapaki Joe's is really close and Brennecke's Beach Broiler about a 10 minute walk. The bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed. The dining area seats 4. Enjoy sunny south shore beaches from this comfortable ocean view apartment. Free parking onsite. Air conditioning in bedroom only. This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down stairs. There are no elevators. Visitor Reviews (17) Write a Review! "March 2025 Stay in Kahala at Poipu Kai 123 We enjoyed our stay in the Poipu Beach area. It is centrally located for visits around Kauai. However, the unfortunate part of the stay is that this condo's windows are on the sun-side of the building and with no air conditioning, during the day was uncomfortably hot. There was a portable air conditioner in the bedroom which helped sleeping, but the TV was in the living room. The instructions regarding the use of the TV were non-existent with one Roku remote, two Spectrum remotes, and a DVD remote in a tray. The toilet sits in a small room by the shower which was hot and with the door open blocked the toilet paper dispenser. The bathroom also had very small shampoo containers. On the good side, the condo is located overlooking the pool and hot tub as well as the tennis courts. The complex land is beautiful and near the beach which is highlighted by the huge sea turtle population. The deck has a great view and is wonderful for enjoying the view and weather in the evening. Other guests we visited with at the pool also commented that their condos were very hot. It would be nice to have a portable air conditioner in the living room-dining room area to make the stay much more pleasurable. The condo did have a nice supply of beach equipment, such as chairs, umbrella, and boogie board." Mar 27, 2025 - Robert F., Albany, OR "Room with a view The Poipu Kai property was absolutely lovely. The grounds and pool area and bbqs were clean and beautifully kept. I would stay here again but in a different room. Our room was too close to the main road and the trash bins. Noisy! The room itselfself was quite dated and needed a thorough clean from the drapes to the rugs to the fans. The linen and pillows and towels were also quite threadbare. All the appliances worked great though. We had a fantastic ocean view and were close to the pool which was great. Minimum-the room needs better lanai furniture as we spend so much time on the lanai and a king bed and new shower/bathroom area would really make the place so much better. It's in the middle of Poipu Kai Resort, so easy walking distance to Shipwreck Beach all the way to Marriott Beach. The condo itself is very comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. And the views!! We sat on our lanai every morning and most evenings just enjoying the view. No a/c but we never missed it, because the breezes blow through for great sleeping! Everything was neat and clean, including the pool area. The only downside is that the unit overlooks a pool and it could be very noisy at times in the evening.
