In the last few years, Maui County has raised the property taxes significantly; INCREASES of $17,000 in 2023 and $31,000 in 2024 on this condominium alone. The municipalities are making it more and more expensive to own property here as a non-resident. This has a major impact on the hospitality business at these properties. Please understand that we do not take the increase in our rental rates lightly, but only as a proportionate step to counter the new owner expenses imposed by the authorities. Additionally, the insurance coverage expense has skyrocketed, and the operational Owners Association monthly dues have significantly increased. "Rental company is great!
This property backs up to a service road for the hotel next door and has traffic noice very early in the am. The condo has a great kitchen and everything has been upgraded. Rental management company is AMAZING and very responsive! "

"A Perfect Stay in Paradise!
The Alua Village number 1004 was a fantastic place to stay in Maui. It was worth every penny. Just steps away from the beach. Calm and perfect sunsets. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Maui. The townhouse itself was perfectly equipped and our family enjoyed every minute! We snorkeled right off the beach and even saw numerous sea turtles. Thanks for the perfect place!"

"Excellent location for Elua condo
The hosts, Bob and Sunny, were very helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay at Elua. The condo has a terrific location with stunning views of the ocean and close to the pool. The condo has 3 bedrooms and the arrangement is interesting. One bedroom is downstairs with a king bed and a bathroom/laundry room close by. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms- one with two twins, a lovely lanai, and an attached bathroom. The other upstairs bedroom has a king bed and is more a loft style, in that one wall is open to the downstairs. There are wood shutters, but you can definitely hear everything going on in the living/kitchen downstairs. It was also fairly warm up there, even though there is AC in the unit. I'm giving 4 stars for the general condition and cleanliness because there was no maid service for the week we were there. they need some additional door mats to help keep the unit clean, and the lanai could use a good cleaning (lots of leaves, table and chairs needed cleaning). Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"AMAZING CONDO!!!
Wow! Absolutely beautiful! We loved the location and amazing views. Very close to the beach. Great views from the lanai and many rooms in the house. We watched lots of whales everyday from the condo. We were all thrilled, the photos do not do this place justice. It was better than we all imagined. We hope to return within the year! We had kids and they had many great toys for them to use at the beach as well as chairs for the adults,"

"Wonderful stay in a true beachfront property!
The property was as described and was in a perfect location, just a few steps from both the beach and the pool. Each day we would watch the sunset from our lanai and then have dinner outside. The location was quiet and surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The property manager was exceptional, assisting in getting us into the unit, leaving us a generous basket of welcome gifts, and even mailing home some clothes we forgot to pack. We would definitely stay here again and use this property manager! "

"Fantastic location and condo
We were incredibly satisfied with our stay in this condo. The location was absolutely unbeatable, steps to the beautiful pool and a fantastic beach. From the condo we were able to see the kids on the beach and in the ocean which was highly convenient! There were a ton of beach chairs, towels, sun umbrellas, mask/ fins/ snorkels, and sand toys.
The kitchen was very well stocked which was great because we cooked nearly every meal in-house. We loved that there was a main fridge/freezer as well as a separate beverage fridge for all our drinks. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and there was plenty of bathroom toiletries, towels, and blankets.
Overall, we felt like we were staying at a good friend's house rather than a rented condo. So great! "

"Out of the Quarantined
We have used Wailea Beach Rental for many years and they are great. Especially in these trying time of Covid19. The were super accommodating in moving us to another unit as our rented unit was unavailable. We stayed in 1001 which is a magnificent three bedroom condo right on the water. Well equipped for cooking. Plenty of gear to take down to the beach. Strong wi-fi. Liked having a code on door so need for a key. Cannot wait until to come back. Also, Sunny is truly sunny. Always in a good mood. Good people to work with. Aloha. "

"A Dreamy Retreat

"Not worth the money - major disappointment
We paid a lot of money for this condo rental, so we still expected a high quality condo for that price. Instead we were very disappointed for several reasons.
1. One of the “bedrooms” is really a loft upstairs. It was open to the downstairs, so there is no real privacy.
2. The upstairs is very hot – the A/C is only downstairs so it doesn’t cool the rooms upstairs.
3. One of the bedrooms upstairs had a water leak at the sliding glass door that opened to the lanai, so they had taped a plastic tarp to the door, preventing it from opening. We were paying for the view and breeze of the ocean but didn’t get it. With no A/C upstairs and the inability to open the window, the room was suffocating.
4. The other bedroom upstairs was so hot that the previous occupants complained, so the managers installed a portable A/C unit which prevented the sliding glass door from opening in that room. Unfortunately the A/C unit was very loud, so we had to turn it off at night. Then we had no A/C and no fresh air because the door wall was locked.
5. The bedroom downstairs smelled very damp.
6. The screen doors downstairs were very hard to open and sometimes fell off the tracks.
7. The A/C unit broke down while we were there – they came and fixed it later on, but it got pretty hot in the meantime.
8. The ice maker in the freezer didn’t work and there were no ice trays, so there was no ice! We had to go buy plastic ice trays, even though we paid a lot of money to rent the unit!
9. One of the most infuriating things that happened is when we came home and found a note taped to the door informing us that they were going to enter our unit the next day to spray insecticide inside to kill ants (which we never saw). Fortunately there was a phone number to call to request that they not spray, but we had very little time between finding the note and when they were going to arrive. When we’re renting the unit fo"

"Paradise in paradise
I have been to Maui over a dozen times in recent years and have been fortunate enough to have almost always stayed in the Elua condominiums. All of the units are wonderful, but #1004 is extraordinary. The unit itself is well kept and very comfortable, and the location is fantastic. The ground floor lanai looks out over a grassy lawn adorned with palm trees, and onto the beach. The unit is also only a very short walk to the nearby pool and guest facilities.
The upstairs bedrooms each have their own baths, and one has it own lanai looking out over the ocean.
There is also a lanai off the back of the unit where the BBQ is located. This separation for the eating area on the front lanai is a nice touch.
Elua 1004 is my favorite spot in Wailea! "

"A wonderfull property on the best part of Maui!
The property is situated in Elua Village just steps to the beach. Watching sunsets, snorkeling, and walking to the nearby hotels were daily occasions. Our host was prompt and responsive to all of our needs. The summer heat can be overwhelming and we requested additional air conditioning units and were graciously offered two and a nice big welcome basket. We will definitely stay again! "
