The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is a gated community of condominiums. There are three professional style tennis courts with night lighting. The large remodeled swimming pool is ideal for “laps” and also for small children and other water activities. Showers and restrooms are conveniently located in the large pavilion near the swimming pool and tennis courts.
One of the most interesting features of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club are the numerous archaeological sites. These preserved areas provide a glimpse of Hawaiian life years ago. Each site has a posted description of the activities that took place years and years ago.
The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has many gardens and walking trails. ONE GOES DIRECTLY TO A BEACH!! Flowers and tropical foliage are abundant. There are several outdoor barbecue areas for guests to go to.
Located just below the Keauhou Shopping Center and around the corner from Keauhou Bay, you'll be close to lots of great shopping, dining, banking, movie theater, water sports, fishing, snorkeling, golfing and more!

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made ninety (90) days or more prior to arrival shall not be responsible for the final balance of the reservation. The $200 deposit made at the time of booking is non refundable after the booking is made. Cancellations of less than ninety (90) days prior to arrival shall forfeit the entire rent and excise tax (less cleaning fees) unless we are able to re-rent the property. Refunds on any forfeiture will be issued the dollar value the unit is re-rented for during the same dates as the canceled reservation. There is no refund for early departure or no shows.

"Wonderful Stay
We loved our stay here. Being away from the crowds (but close -- really, walking distance -- to a beach and shopping center with restaurants) was important to us and this location was perfect. The unit is spacious and clean, and the resort is beautifully maintained. Great kitchen with all we needed for cooking meals. Would stay here again if we return to the Big Island."

This condo is lovely. Very spacious and the lanai is incredible. It's not in walking distance to shopping/dining but you can walk to the ocean and the grounds are beautiful. I loved that there's an ocean view from the pool. The condo is clean and the furniture/bed's were comfortable. "

"Great home, great location.
Great location, Nice property. Home was well maintained and clean. Had boogie boards, chairs, sand toys, and beach towels that made the beach days so much better. Kitchen was very impressive with cookware / utensils you may need and spices. Had a great island guide book to help plan your days.
Only complaint would be that you pay extra for air conditioning (totally fine) but the screen in the window of the front bedroom doesn't seal or lock (there was some tape trying to hold it shut but it's still gapped). So you have to be okay with sleeping with your window screen gapped by your head or a very warm bedroom(if you don't pay for a/c). With the windows open the house cools off beautifully (no A/C needed) "

"Beware of Check Out Procedures!
We had a great stay, however, the check out email was a very sad and unpleasant experience. Our family was careful with the white carpet in the living/dining room areas. We cleaned and followed check out protocol. We did not use the lanai area for entertaining, except for the diningroom table for the children (no white carpet and the tile was easy to wipe up any little spills). Upon checkout, we made sure the diningroom table was wiped off. There is a blue couch in the lanai. Since we did not use the seating in the lanai, nobody thought to check the couch. Apparently our two year old touched the cushions with his sticky pineapple popsicle hands and we didn't see the marks. The cleaning staff refused to spot clean the sticky spots and the entire couch along with throw pillows were professionally steam cleaned and we were charged $261.00. I received an email two days after checking out notifying me of the charges. I immediately asked why the cleaning staff did not spot clean and was told there was not time because of an incoming reservation. I called the steam cleaning company and they verified that the cleaning was done 2 days after our check out and that the unit was empty. When I reached back out to Knutson & Associates about the "LIE" they provided me, they changed the story and said that the cleaning was beyond their staff's capabilities. Since you are forced to pay an insurance fee of $49 for a premium to cover $1000 worth of insurance for damage or carpet/furniture cleaning, I asked if the insurance would cover the $261. They denied our request because they said we should have reported the sticky spots before our 11 am checkout. Knutson & Associates have refused to return my phone calls and I am stuck paying for the steam cleaning. BEWARE, when you check out to look at everything with a magnifying glass. We will not rent anything associated with Knutson & Associates again."

"Great location, fun place to stay!
This place was perfect for our family of 7! We loved the location, so close to the beach for watching the sunset or whales in the distance! And the this courts (pickleball as well) and pool and ping pong table were a fun bonus! The place was clean and we loved the view from our corner unit. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again! "

"Month in Paradise
I would suggest that it be made clear that the parking spot for the unit is NOT available. Also a small stool for us short people would be a plus. Loved the privacy this unit offers and found it comfortable for our month's stay. The lanai is particularly lovely as it is screened in and comfortable. "

Outside of the geico's, flying roaches and they wanted more money for AC as if we didn't pay enough already, the stay was great and very relaxing! Plenty of things to keep you occupied, swimming beach/pool, tennis, BBQ, scuba,snorkeling and much more. Any issues, they get them resolved quick."

It was a beautiful place, however there was not enough laundry soap. We stayed for 7 days, with 6 people so we went though a lot of towels. Also there was a ant problem too. Overall we loved it!"

"Best condo ever
This is an amazing condo in so many ways, large and small. First of all, the condo complex itself is very nice with mature landscaping and good maintenance. The condo is in an ideal location in a very private corner of the complex. We were there for 4 weeks and other than the complex staff, we rarely saw anyone walk by our lanai. The large screened lanai was just amazing. Having the screening made the lanai feel much more private and made this large condo seem even larger. There is a private large lawn area out from the lanais of Building 6 with a gas grill and charcoal grilling area with lighting out at the edge of the lawn. Although it isn't obvious in the condo photos, there is a lanai screening panel that slides opens to the lawn area. The condo is well appointed with lots of nice extra touches. There are plenty of towel rings and bars in the bathrooms and even a towel bar in the kitchen. Loved the lights strung in the ceiling of the lanai. The folding laundry rack was also very helpful and great for beach towels and swimsuits. The dry bar on the lanai was a very nice touch...especially having the extra small fridge for canned drinks. The dry bar countertop was really pretty...dark gray with blue flakes that either faded to dark blue or became iridescent light blue depending on which way you looked at it The washer and dryer were top notch and the dishwasher was so quiet you barely could hear it. The owner is the author of a published book about Big Island that is a good read. It's in the drawer below the TV. If you are considering this first floor condo due to mobility issues, be advised that there are 6 steps up to the front door (4 then 2) and you will not be able to use the assigned parking space in front of the condo. There are plenty of guest spaces just beyond the Building 6 parking area.
The Knutson & Associates staff were very helpful and quick to respond to a minor issue we had. Their app was great and the check in/check out process very easy."

"Amazing for the price!
This was such a great stay for us. Close to everything, and with a beautiful view from the lanai. It's also just a walk across the parking lot to enjoy the sunset on the cliffside over-looking the ocean. Keep in mind you will be required to pay an additional $49 for a damage protection plan and a rental agreement you will have to sign with the leasing office. Also AC is only included at an additional cost as well, but we didn't end up needing it. Also the Roku in both bedrooms didn't seem to be working, and the master bedroom has a very thin sliding door adjacent to the living room, so if there is anyone staying in the living room you will hear everything."

The apartment is as described. Big, clean, nice, BBQ available, assigned parking lot in the middle of a golf court. Nice views and amazing sunsets.
Notice that the rental doesn't include air conditioning. The cost is 25 USD per day. However, the apartment is not hot, so maybe you won't need it. "

"Beautiful condo in Paradise
I highly recommend this condo in Kona. It’s exactly as described, very private, comfortable and convenient. The kitchen is well stocked, the living room has lots of comfortable seating as does the private screened in lanai. We had 4 Adults and one teenager but the condo never felt crowded. We ate on the private lanai and watched and listened to the many birds in the area. This condo is truly delightful and we would stay again. I would also highly recommend Knutson property mgmt! They had great communication before, during and after our stay. This was one of the best rental experiences we’ve had. Kudos to them!"

"Extra charges
The rental itself is awesome. Clean, comfortable, great location and many amenities like beach chairs and beach towels that made it very comfortable. The owners of the property should be proud of their place. The issues we had were with the management company, Knutson.
My issue is that my original rental agreement was for $736.53. I paid that in full. We reserved the condo in November for a February stay. In January we were informed of the need for "rental damage insurance" and @25 a day for extra AC so I also paid another $135 for "rental insurance" and air conditioning in the second bedroom. My choice on the insurance was pay the $49 or send them a cashiers check for $1000. To me it is like forced insurance when you rent a car. $25 a day for AC for the second bedroom is a little crazy. Had I known these charges were coming, we would not have rented as it raised the price by $45 a day. At that price there were other options. Of course by the time the second bill came in January it was too late to get our money back or rent somewhere else. This many be normal for condo rental or maybe it is just the way Knutson does business. We certainly will shy away from any rental in the future that they are affiliated with.

"Kona Surf & Racket unit 6-104
My wife and I rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. The lanai was very large and L-shaped. The (new) A/C worked extremely well and we were always comfortable. The complex is on Keauhou Bay, a 10-15 minute walk from the best snorkeling cove in Hawaii, so very convenient. The 3 tennis courts were in great condition and even had lights for playing until 9 P.M. The gate to the complex and the door to the unit are opened with a keypad code, which is very convenient. Bring your own bath soap, although shampoo and conditioner were provided, as were dish soap, laundry detergent, and plenty of bath and beach towels. The washer and dryer are in one of the bathrooms and worked very well. There is no housecleaning service during the stay, which is how we like it. The TV cable was not active, but one of the two TVs had Netflix and some other subscription services, which we used to watch shows. From the lanai, which looked out onto a small lawn, you can watch mongooses frolic and gorgeous saffron finches land to eat off the ground. There are a number of gas grills available on the grounds, although we didn't use them. We highly recommended renting the unit!"

"Very comfortable, great location for us
The condo was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Well stocked with towels, beach coolers, etc. Located a short walk from a snorkel beach, and a 2 minute drive from a shopping center (groceries, restaurants, etc). The pool was typically empty and was warm and relaxing. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and quiet, save for the tropical birds. :) Thank you for sharing your condo with us!"

The Condo at the Kona Surf & Racquet Club was in a great location, the property was maintained but could use some updates and minor repairs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others! Very nice pool to use during hot muggy days and the beach is just a short walk away.

"Mixed but lovely
Lovely location and upkeep.Very clean and pleasant. Beautiful wrap-around lanai with view of golf course. On the down side - Furniture, beds and art were low quality. Polyester sheets on a super soft bed. One broken chair and sliding closet doors didn't slide. Called rental company and assured they would take care of the chair and other items, but they never did and never called back."

Overall the stay was good. The grounds were exceptional. The condo in general was extremely comfortable except for the bugs in the kitchen. We have lived in a tropical area and are aware of the ants and keeping the kitchen clean etc. Having ant traps/spray available would have a been a nice. The issue I had was with the roaches. The kitchen must have been sprayed prior to us arriving because we only saw them the next day. We had to make several calls prior to talking with someone to get spray for these (I don't feel that is something we should have had to buy). I cannot recommend a property where there are roaches. "

Very nice rental. Beautiful corner unit. Loved the screened lanai. Could use a little more Tupperware otherwise kitchen stocked well with everything. The living room blinds need a bit of attention. Missing a couple of blinds and on one set the handle to turn the blinds closed is missing so there is no way to close them at night. We had someone sleeping on the pull out in the living room so it would've been nice to close them at night. The sheets on the king bed in the master were too small and came off when you got into the bed. We loved all the extras in the lanai cupboard. Having a cooler was nice and the boogie board and beach items were appreciated. Overall it was a nice rental and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "
