Refunds on any forfeiture will be issued the dollar value the unit is re-rented for during the same dates as the canceled reservation. There is no refund for early departure or no shows.

"Wade Glenn stay at Kona Alii
Loved my stay here. Could easily see myself coming back again. If I had to point out anything negative, there are just a handful of complaints that are worth mention. The bedroom toilet was not cleaned properly upon arrival (was urine on top of seat). A/C would have been a nice option a couple of nights that were a little warm but not a deal breaker. One night when I went to bed there was a very large cockroach on the top of headboard. And last, I'm shocked the clothes dryer cannot be vented outdoors. It just added to the heat inside the property when already warm. There was no exhaust screen on the vent either which is why there was quite a bit of lint in the closet. I want to emphasize that my review is in effort to help you improve which is what I assumed was your hope to get from the requested review. I really did enjoy my stay!"

"Kona ali'i
We had a great stay at the Kona Ali'i unit 401. The location was perfect with great restaurants within walking distance. The condo was large and well furnished. The lanai looked over the water and was large with comfortabel chairs so it was a great place to relax. The only downside was that the large tv had no instructions so it was "figure it out" as you go time and we never did get the major networks so we missed our normal plrograms.... a minor issue. The noise from the street was at times distracting. It seems like Ali'i drive is a crusing street with sometines loud music(?) and loud exhaust. Overall we had a great time here. "

"VERY COMFORTABLE HOME AWAY FROM HOME
This is a beautiful unit. Generously stocked with supplies and furniture was lovely. The dishes were plentiful and cooking pots etc. numerous. I saw no bugs. The unit was very clean. Only comment was only one set of keys. I hope another set is made. Thank you for the place while in Kona. "

"Great Location & Ocean View!
What a wonderful stay in Kona! The condo is in walking distance to many wonderful restaurants, shopping, and of course, the ocean! The view from the condo is amazing and there is nothing like the sound of the ocean waves to lull you to sleep or to listen to as you wake up each morning. The included covered parking spot is also a great perk! This was our first stay in #401 and it had everything we needed. It was clean, updated and very roomy. What a wonderful home away from home! We will be back! "

"Noisy
If you're looking for Kona night life just steps away, this is your place. The " boom-box" trucks start patrolling Alicia Dr. about 4 p.m. and can continue until 4 a.m. There us a constant stream of traffic and humanity. The unit is close to everything Kona. The homeless will camp out in the little park across the street daily and wander around on Alicia Dr. This is a corner unit with covered parking and no AC. The sea breeze and fans are enough to keep it cool. The sunsets are lovely. Only one key is provided so be careful not to lock yourself out."

"Price Gouging
Initial agreement contract stipulated a $225 per night. I booked prior to Ironman in October 2023. However, after 2023 triathlon the price more than doubled to $500 a night.
Conversations with VRBO and Knutson & Associates on the price gouging only resulted in “contract stipulates that the price subject to change at any time”. Attempted to cancel but would have lost entire cost.
Unable to find any alternative lodging so late (a week out from travel to Kona) - entirely my fault for not realizing that I did not send an email cancelling back in late 2023 - I was left to pay exorbitant cost.
Property’ has no AC. Gorgeous ocean view but even with all windows and lanai doors open left property often too hot to sleep in. Second bathroom has a dryer which vents into a cleaning closet in the bathroom.
Bring or buy your own pods coffee or coffee maker.
On-site property support polite and helpful.
Cancelling VRBO account.
Caveat emptor."

"Great Condo!
I stayed in room 401, and the condo was great. It had everything you would need from beach towels, cooler, washer/dryer, full kitchen, comfortable bed, very clean, modern decor, great view, close to shops and restaurants, and so much more. The staff was great at communicating and even checked in to see if I needed anything. The condominium is pretty secure as well. The condominium is in the downtown district, so there is some noise from the traffic and restaurants/bars, but it didn't stop me from getting a good sleep in. I would recommend this room at Kona Ali'i. "

"Kona Sunset Delight
This condo is situated west for gorgeous Pacific sunset views from its spacious lanai. We also saw whales playing just offshore. The location is just steps away from the Kona Farmer's market and dozens of ocean view dining establishments plus an ABC store. We look forward to returning again! "

"Beautiful but loud location
Pros: Great central location, right next to lots of restaurants and shopping. You can hear the ocean waves from everywhere in the apt. Bed was very comfortable. The place was very clean and nicely decorated, well lit, with a bunch of ceiling fans. The reclining chairs on the balcony were a wonderful place to listen to the waves, watch the people going by, and take a nap! The tripod-mounted monocular was a really nice extra. The showers had really cool showerheads -- I'm going to buy one for my house just like it. I got a fantastic Thai massage from the place downstairs.
Cons: Since it faces the main street, there was sometimes a lot of traffic noise, especially Thur-Sun nights when it seems people like to go cruising, blasting their loud music and really loud cars and motorcycles. Since there is no A/C, it's not really feasible to keep the sliders closed. There is a VERY bright hallway light right outside the apt. which was shining in all night thru the bedroom window. There are shades that didn't work too well at keeping that light out, and when it was windy, we had to keep the window closed because the shades were banging on the window. I think a blackout curtain would be a much better window covering. There is also no door to the bathroom in the bedroom, just a wall between it and the rest of bedroom, which may not bother most married couples, but we prefer to do our business in private.
Check-in and out was easy and the management was very responsive. All in all, an excellent place to stay."

The condo has an excellent ocean front view. Over all the experience was very good, Except I was charged A $100 lockout fee for the front screen door. There were also small ants in the kitchen."

"Excellent property
We loved the property and the location. Gorgeous ocean views, steps away from dining and shopping. Everything was immaculate and well set up. There is a high voltage power pole/line across the street if that sort of thing bothers you. Being able to have AC at night would have been nice but sleeping with patio doors open and the sound of ocean was something we got used to pretty quickly.
Only feedback would be that we had requested an early check-in to accommodate a senior citizen and got a response that they would let us know but no one got back to us with a definite response, which was a minor inconvenience.
Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself. "

"Clean and Updated with Amazing Ocean View and Free Parking
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. The condo was so tastefully decorated, as well as comfortable, updated, and clean. The kitchen had whatever we needed if we wanted to cook, though we mostly enjoyed going to one of the many restaurants located within walking distance from the condo! Our favorite part was undoubtedly the lanai with it's breathtaking view of the ocean. The condo is a corner unit which gives you such an expansive view. We sat out there every morning with our coffee watching the ocean waves as well as the occasional sea turtle! Most of the time, we would leave the large glass doors to the lanai open, allowing the ocean breeze to waft through and cool the entire condo. I also wanted to mention that the condo included a parking spot! This was such a blessing as we rented a car and knowing exactly where we could park it everyday without paying extra gave us such peace of mind. However, some days we didn't even use the car because there were so many fun little shops, restaurants, and cafès all within walking distance as the condo is located in the historic Old Town of Kona. We also found a little beach a few feet away from the condo where we liked to take dips in the ocean and lay in the sun. We absolutely will stay here again and would recommend this condo to anyone staying on the Big Island!"

"Amazing Kona Location
We just returned from a wonderful stay at this condo. It was absolutely spotless and modern inside. Exactly like the photos. The corner unit is the best with ocean views for gorgeous sunsets and just relaxing on the lanai. The rolling shades were welcome as we could adjust depending on the sun and it never go too hot inside. Never missed the AC as the quiet ceiling fans were more than sufficient to keep things cool. We were actually there for the Ironman event and could not have had a better location, walking back and forth daily to the pier for swimming and to numerous restaurants. We did not rent a car for this trip so even walked to the grocery store but there is a free trolley around town if you need it. The condo had everything we needed and if I came to Kona again, I would want to stay here. I highly recommend it. "

"Perfect Location
Greatest family vacation ever! We watched the sunset every evening from the Lanai, and enjoyed so much shopping and dining along Alií drive, all within walking distance. The condo came equipped with snorkeling gear, beach towels, lawn chairs, and even a cooler that we could use for our beach excursions. It was beautifully decorated, super clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The view from the lanai was the best. We saw dolphins jumping on multiple occasions, and sea turtles, all right in front of the condo! They had a spotting scope on a tripod set up for us to use. The luau we attended as within walking distance, and that Sunday they had a street fair on Alií drive, where we did lots of shopping. There is a farmers market we walked to almost daily for fruit. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again. We want to check out some of the historic places just up the street, like the Huliheé Palace and Mokuaikaua Church. The kids want to come back for the Gecko Girls Shaved Ice and to hang out at the nearby sand volleyball court."

"Great Hawaiian Getaway!
We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The location is perfect for going to the beach, seeing the island, and enjoying the shops and restaurants very close by. The views from the room were amazing, and allowed us to watch every sunrise and sunset while we cozied up on the porch. We would definitely recommend this property, and would love to travel back here again."
