These Hanalei vacation rentals are directly on the path to follow, just take a few steps and you're on the sand. And I2 is literally just a few steps to the beach, with absolutely amazing sea views from every room. The only way you could be any closer to the water is if you were actually on a boat! You can also take advantage of the restaurant and spa onsite, or prepare your own food in your apartment's full kitchen or on the gas grills provided. Pool, jacuzzi, guest laundry room, and barbecue are conveniently close.
Hanalei Colony Resort I2 is beautiful inside with a prime oceanfront location at north shore Kauai's only true beachfront resort. You can see the beach from your living room and bedroom windows, and once you step out onto the shady lanai, it's only a couple more steps and you're right there on the secluded sandy beach that fronts the property!
Inside, you'll find a full kitchen, with subway tile backsplash and custom cabinetry. There are two full bathrooms, recently refreshed. The first bedroom is furnished with a king bed, and the guest bedroom has a queen size bed. Both bedrooms can be closed off from the shared living areas with wooden louver doors that preserve the refreshing airflow while providing visual privacy. Note that sound will still carry, so if you're streaming a late-night movie, be sure to keep the volume low. The living room and dining area each comfortably accommodate 4 people. Your private (furnished) lanai is absolutely perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine while relaxing to the sounds of the surf and enjoying the cool breeze. There is a smart TV, and dedicated high-speed wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you wish to be.)
In addition to Hanalei Colony Resort I2's beautiful interior and perfect sea views of the beach just in front, guests can enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue grills, and guest laundry room. You can walk next door to the Opakapaka Bar and Grill. Also located just across the parking lot is the Hanalei Day Spa. Just ten minutes past the charming town of Hanalei, you'll find that shopping and dining options are conveniently close. It's the perfect Kauai vacation rental for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions.
While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions (though wifi is available for those of us who can't escape work or want to stream our favorite shows).
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.
Although this home has a dedicated high-speed internet connection, the speed and reliability of wifi cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

Reservations cancelled 31-60 days prior to your contracted check-in date will be assessed a 50% cancellation penalty. For reservations cancelled 30 or fewer days prior to arrival, no refund will be made except for the cleaning fee. Any unused portions of the contracted reservation dates are non-refundable. Any interruption of services within the property, or inclement weather during your stay, will not serve to void or cancel the rental agreement.

"Perfect Get-away
The location was amazing, just steps from the water. We wanted to feel like we were truly away and after 5 days staying there, we still had that “pinch me” feeling. We visit HI every year and I’ve lived there for several years as well. I was blown away at how awesome this spot was. Peaceful, water right outside our door, mountain back drop, friendly staff. Our kids demand we come back here next year!!"

"Mixed Bag
Location Location Location - truly a great location on Kuaia's North Shore.
But you don't want a ground floor unit like we had. Trying to go to sleep? Good luck as Thump Thump Thump from upstairs unit of people walking around makes it tough. Up early, so are they, scrape thump scrape as chairs get dragged around upstairs. So pretty annoying, best if you don't plan on being in the unit very much.
Pool area is nice, but young children can be unsupervised there so expect kids' yelling like they do in a pool.
Overall it was a pretty pricey stay for the quality of the unit, but if we had an upstairs unit it would have been ok. "

"Quite a Paradise
Wonderful oasis in unit Bldg. I (eye) - 2. No AC needed and unit has ceiling fans as well as two tower fans should they be needed. Kitchen set up was good and the beds & pillows were comfy. There was a TV in the unit and we used it only a couple of times. You could literally hear the waves crashing on the shore from both bedrooms at night. My only two complaints were that the primary bedroom had no closet nor a place to put your clothes when unpacking. Perhaps a small chest would be a nice addition to that room. The bathtub could certainly use a mat in the bottom due to it being slippery when stepping into. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this unit and the property grounds were kept immaculately clean. Pool area was great and included two large grills as well as a refrigerator and sink."

"Our Hanalei Hanai Honeymoon
Everything about this property was amazing and perfect! We really didn’t see that many people on the beach and we had it to ourselves most of the time. The condo felt welcoming and had everything we could possibly need! Having a full kitchen was definitely a bonus however after a gorgeous short stroll through manicured gardens the was the convenience of a restaurant with the best poke nachos I’ve ever had. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back! Mahalo Nui Loa for this wonderful experience!"

This unit was clean, fairly well equipped, and in a GREAT location. Furnishings are beautiful.
Some improvements would be to add: salad spinner, colander, kitchen sink stopper, plastic wash basin, egg pan, Windex, 409 (basic cleaners). Thank you for having a rice cooker, beach chairs, cooler, and beach umbrella!
Please make it clear to renters that there are two different shuttle services. The HCR shuttle is NOT available to use by Kauai Kahuna renters (only HCR renters). The North Shore shuttle is available to the general public.

" Best Vacation Ever
I have had very good service from Kauai Kahuna Vacation Rental. Their properties are immaculate and we have never had a single issue. They are communicative and follow up. The property we stayed in at HCR was so special. My daughter and I enjoyed every minute there. Unfortunately, two and a half weeks before the trip we had an unforeseen circumstance and then another right before the trip and there was no flexibility to cancel or get a credit so we had to go without my son and husband two years in a row. I don’t even know if insurance would cover that, but will need to make sure we are protected in the future one way or another because it was a large investment for just half our family to enjoy."

"Nice Accommodations in a remote area
We stayed in the condo for 4 nights. It was clean upon arrival, but definitely smaller than what it appears. It was right on the beach, so that was great. The kitchen was updated. One complaint would be that they only provide salt and pepper. Every other VRBO I have stayed in at least provides a variety of many spices including cooking spray, which there was none of. They also did not provide any kitchen towels which was a little frustrating because since there is no dishwasher, we had to hand wash the dishes and use the paper towels to dry them. And they only provide two rolls of paper towels. And no ice maker or ice trays in the freezer, so we had to buy ice. Also the only restaurant that is on the property was closed for the entire time we were there and the coffee place also closed on the second day for the remainder of the week. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. Otherwise, it is a nice little condo in a very remote area. "

"nice but noisy
Best location. Beautiful scenery. Clean home. A great jumping off location to an island paradise. Due to issues with staffing at the local restaurant, the disassociation with the resort, and a noisy neighbor, things could have been a bit better. But overall, it was fine. But I roll with the punches. So if you want perfect, this is not it. If you want remote and casual with a bit of noise from the person upstairs, this is your spot."

"Great place to relax and unwind!
Once we found the actual condo, out stay was relaxing and the “resort” lovely. The employees from groundskeepers to property managers were so thoughtful and helpful. The condo was like new inside, new appliances, pots and pans and utensils. Couple notes for future guests; there are zero condiments, you will need to purchase basics including salt and pepper in this unit. ALSO, first time guests, the number of the condo is actually the letter “I” , number of condo is 2.
We were very confused trying to find unit 12, when it was actually I-2.
Perhaps adding a hyphen will help.
You must use the app for complete instructions. We were unaware that we had to get a parking pass and register and show our COVID test (Hawaii safe) to the registration area. Might be helpful to have all this information in the emails that confirm the reservations. The fan chain was broken in living room, but with the breezes off the ocean it wasn’t necessary for this time of year.
The condo had beach chairs, umbrella and masks and snorkle (did not use).
Pool is best kept secret. Hardly anyone was using it.
Also, if you plan on hiking certain trails or going to Ke’e, advance passes are required.
Loved out stay, even with the few minor inconveniences. Will definitely come back."

"Stay in paradise
We had a wonderful stay here! Waking up to the sounds of the ocean every day and being able to walk straight out to the beach was one of the highlights of the trip (and a great way to enjoy our morning coffee). Fair warning, the place can be a little hard to find in the dark, but the directions included with our check-in instructions were extremely useful and made it so we didn't get lost. We'll definitely be back!"

"Wow! And more wow!
The pictures can't even propperly show just how close this is to the beach. It's amazing. Super nice inside too. The kitchen isn't very big, but we didn't cook much anyway, just easy stuff, and there was everything we needed. We barbecued over by the pool too, there's a very good setup there for barbecuing. The door system (sliding wooden doors with slats) are great to keep you cool because the breeze goes through them, just keep in mind that it also means the sound goes through them. The Wainiha store just down the road will deliver, super convenient if you aren't motivated to leave the beach. It's a really pretty condo inside, amazing setting right on the beach, and you really truly are only a couple of steps from being on the beach. The property manager (Kauai Kahuna) was helpful and checked in on us before and after arrival."
