"Hanalei Ohana Perfection!
What a wonderful time we had at Hanalei Ohana! The house was absolutely perfect for our family of five & grandparents to celebrate our son’s graduation from high school. We surfed everyday at Hanalei Bay, cooked big family meals in the wonderfully equipped kitchen, enjoyed bike rides into and around Hanalei, enjoyed many sunset picnics, and loved every minute of our stay. We feel like we found the perfect house in the perfect location and after many many trips to Kauai we all agreed this was the best holiday yet. If you are looking for a fabulous house in the perfect location, steps from shops & restaurants, & 5 minutes from the one of the prettiest beaches on the planet - this is the place to stay! We can’t wait to come back. "

"Great house, perfect location
We were two families totaling 8 people and really loved the spacious layout of the house. The kitchen has plenty of cooking supplies and space, a few spices to get you started. There were plenty of beach towels and tons of beach equipment (chairs, boogie boards, bikes, surf boards and a wagon) which we were so grateful for. The house is a 1-2 minute walk to town but it’s on a quiet cul-de-sac so we slept well at night. It’s maybe a 5-7 minute walk to the most beautiful beach. There are lush gardens surrounding the house and beautiful views of the mountains, so you always feel connected to nature. We would definitely go back. "

"Perfect house in Hanalei
Simply perfect. We had a family vacation for 10 people and this house was about as perfect for us as you get. Very well designed and maintained with a gorgeous back yard. Very peaceful spot so close to town it is barely a walk at all. It is at the end of a private rd that has no traffic. It really made our vacation relaxing and exceeded my expectations. Tons of stuff like surf boards, bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs, and even snorkeling gear."

Great experience with Hanalei Ohana and Makana Kauai Properties
House was well equipped with everything you need for an outstanding vacation to Hanalei.
Houes was centrally located and walking distance to everything that you need for a vacation in Hanalei.
The only slight quibble is that there is a Wolf oven, but none of the other appliances are Wolf. The appliances all work fine.
We would definitely book this house again."

"ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!
Hanalei Ohana was the perfect house for our family's Kauai vacation! I could not have chosen a more ideal home or location! It is a beautiful, well-maintained home. Everything we needed was provided: 5 roomy bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a large living room, 4 lanais, plus 2 washers and 2 dryers!! There were plenty of great beach chairs, umbrellas, and a large canopy for the beach. There were also surf boards, boogie boards, and bicycles. The house was beautiful, even better than the pictures show, and it was very clean. Even better--the location!! We LOVED being so close to shopping, restaurants, and beautiful Hanalei Beach!! It was so convenient to everything! Some things our group did: hiked the Kalalau Trail, visited Waimea Canyon, rode the Plantation Railway, kayaked the Hanalei River, toured the awesome north coastline with Na Pali Catamaran. We enjoyed shopping and loved the food nearby, from food trucks to shave ice. The staff at Makana Kauai was wonderful, especially Sarah. My son-in-law forgot his wedding band at the house. And before he knew he'd left it, I had an email from their office with a picture of the ring, asking where they should ship it to get it back to him! From almost 5,000 miles away, he had it back in just a few days! We're so grateful for this great team!! Hanalei is awesome and totally stole our hearts! This is the perfect home to experience the aloha!! Cannot wait to come back!! Thank you Makana Kauai for our favorite vacation spot ever!!

"Spectacular!
This home was spectacular in every way, even better than the pictures. We walked in and everyone just said "wow!" The views out of every window are lush and tropical, the house was spotless with a comfortable yet luxurious feel. Very spacious and completely stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds are the most comfortable vacation rental beds l've ever slept in, and the AC units kept the house at the perfect temperature. The location is prime - you are on the street behind all the shops and restaurants (no noise at all though) and a short 2 min bike ride to a very nice and private section of Hanalei Bay. There are 6 bikes, tons of chairs, surfboards, snorkel equipment, etc.
Communication with the property management company was top notch, they were very responsive to every question. When we come to Kauai, we usually spend most of our time in Popu and stay a few nights on the north shore. After this stay, we will forever come back here for the duration of our stay.
This area is just amazing - relaxing, laid back and gorgeous! Look no further if you are on the fence on booking this home!"

"Happy in Hanalei
It was the perfect house for a family vacation. It was beyond our expectations. There are 2 upstairs suites with their own patios and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs with a separate interior door to that area. Our oldest son and his 2 kids were able to close off that area so when they got up early they could make noise and not bother the rest of us.
We made a lot of use of the covered patio by the family room as it rained more than we expected. We could be outside on the lounge or on the large daybed so we could be with the 2 grandkids and the baby and stay dry. We realized that we should have brought more indoor activities for the kids for the times it rained.
The house was in a great location for picking up food and getting to the beach.
We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of nice beach towels they provided and all the beach accessories (snorkels and masks, goggles, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards, surfboards bicycles and a wagon to haul everything to the beach which was an easy walk or ride. The outdoor shower was terrific.
The kitchen had all the appliances needed and plenty of plates, utensils and pots and pans. Two washers and dryers were a real treat.
The house has a pack and play which the company set up and sanitized for $25. We rented a booster seat from Babylicious to use and then found one in a closet that was perfect for our 18 month old granddaughter. Check with the company about using it.
When we go back to Hanalei, it will be to stay at this wonderful house. "

"Hanalei Ohana is amazing! 5 stars.
We had a fantastic stay at Hanalei Ohana!!! We absolutely loved it. The location of this home is great because it’s a 1-2 minute walk into town to pick up food and drinks or eat at restaurants. The home has beautiful Brazilian hardwood floors and home furnishings. And, it has Toto toilets in every bathroom — definitely a conversation starter that provided lots of laughter in our family!! :) And even though we didn’t technically use them, it also has Tesla Powerwalls in the garage so you can tell that someone has put their time, money and care into this home. One of our favorite parts of this house was all the great gear it comes with - 7 beach cruisers, 4 surfboards, a couple body boards, beach wagon, umbrellas and more. The beach cruisers made it so easy to ride to Hanalei Bay (1-2 minute bike ride) and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the world multiple times per day (i.e. a morning sunrise walk, midday with the kids and beautiful sunsets to end the day). The outdoor shower is also awesome and was so helpful after our days at the beach and our muddy hikes on the Kalalau Trail and the ʻŌkolehao Trail. Makana Kauai Properties was great to work with and super responsive to all our questions/requests. We had so much fun at this home and would highly recommend staying at Hanalei Ohana.

"Beautiful home convenient to Hanalei town and bay
We had a wonderful visit to this spacious and beautifully appointed and kept up home. We had 3 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of space and sound separation. We chose the location due to having teenagers who we hoped would be able to be independent part of the time and they found the location terrific.d
The kitchen is very well stocked and the amenities are amazing - much more than we have at home or could have imagined...4 Toto bidet toilets, double washers and dryers, a humongous television, two huge master suites upstairs away from the kids’ wing, and much more. The only suggestion I would make is to have more towel bars or hooks in bathrooms.
The only negative about the location is that it backs onto a busy part of town with accompanying smells and sounds, but the garden plantings are beautiful and plentiful and block much of it. The house is also air-conditioned, so if you choose to use the AC, you won’t hear or smell the nearby businesses.
Also, a warning to visitors to the North Shore is that only a few restaurants take reservations and they book well in advance, so if you want to go out to dinner, think about that before you travel. Fortunately, the kitchen is very well set up and there are nearby groceries and farmers markets, so cooking there is very easy. The first-come-first served places fill up early and have a wait afterwards.
We are grateful for the opportunity to stay at Hanalei Ohana and hope to return again one day."

"A trip to paradise
This property had the wow factor upon entering.
It is in extremely good condition and suited our multigenerational group of 9.
Plenty of privacy and a large room to gather.
The kitchen is well appointed and lacked for nothing.
The location was great- close to town and walking distance to the beach.
I cannot recognize it enough.
