Description |
You'll love the ocean views, charming interior, and accessible ground floor location of Hale Momona. The sliding glass doors and picture windows face the water, which means in addition to a nice ocean view, you'll catch the tradewinds and stay cool. During those occasional times when the tradewinds die down, ceiling fans and floor fans will keep you comfortable. A Hawaiian punee (twin bed built into a living room alcove like a daybed ) provides cool breezes and ocean views, a perfect spot for reading or napping. You'll be able to watch endangered albatross soar gracefully over the grounds! While Sealodge F1 has not seen recent updates, it's a clean and comfortable space, and provides a more budget friendly option for guests wanting a great ocean view.
The bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and you'll be able to enjoy watching the waves without even having to get out of bed, because the bedroom window also has a view! The modern (remodeled) kitchen provides enough space and amenities that you'll enjoy preparing simple meals at home and dining al fresco on your private ocean view lanai. Inside, there's seating for 4 in the dining area. And the lovely updated bathroom has a walk in shower and plenty of counter space to share. The guest laundry room is in the same building, and the swimming pool is nearby - just on the other side of the building - without being too close.
Our Kauai vacation rentals at Sealodge are located at the end of a small quiet side road, with no through traffic, that ends at a dramatic ocean bluff. These Princeville condos face the ocean on their lanai side. A short hike from these budget friendly Kauai condos brings you to the secluded north shore Sealodge Beach. The jungle trail crosses a small stream then descends to a secluded sandy cove, where the ocean is shallow and protected by a reef, making it ideal for snorkeling and swimming.
The Sealodge condos were built so you can see the rolling white water waves from the living room windows, the bedroom windows, and the lanai. From all three of these locations you can hear the surf, watch for whales, spinner dolphins, and exotic birds. There is a pool and BBQ area (grills are charcoal and you must bring your own briquettes). Sealodge is comfortable, quiet, and island casual.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.
Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

"Bogus charges
Place was beautiful, exceeded our expectations; however, the on-site dryer failed, we reported it to the management company 5 days before we left and yet they charged us for not washing their bath towels. A cheap shot for a two week stay. P.S. there are no public laundry near this location."

"Good location!
The property is in a great location. The kitchen could’ve used more dishes, large bowls, platters etc. but I think that is an ownership decision. There was no dresser or drawers for clothing. Overall good stay but could use additional supplies. "

"Cute Condo-Loud Neighbors
We enjoyed the location of the condo. We would stay in the same location just not this specific condo. It's on the bottom floor and it sounded like rhinos were running back and forth and moving furniture every morning and every night as we were going to bed. The condo itself could use a good deep cleaning as well. The trash and refrigerator had smudges all over the front. The floors were free of loose dirt but in the corners you could see grime that hadn't been scrubbed. "

"I love Sea Lodge
I've stayed ib various Sea Lodge units over the years. This time, we stayed in F1. It was lovely though I did miss having a bathtub. The unit could use a few more amenities. It would have been nice to take some tupperware there so we could take our lunches to the beach. And some plastic forks and spoons. The outside chairs could use a back cushion to be more comfortable. It would ahve been nice to have a couople more bowls and another larger bowl for salad. Otherwise, it was quite lovely."

This was my first time renting a condo and it was an absolutely stress free experience. The only problem was the pool was closed and that really disappointed us but, the condo was lovely and we plan on returning. "

"Perfect Stay
This was a perfect location to stay. The condo was clean, cute, and accommodated three of us comfortably. Everyone we encountered at Sea Lodge was helpful and friendly. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, and waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the ocean were wonderful! We stayed in F1 and had an amazing view! We could not be happier with the pick of this location for a relaxing vacation. Beach chairs, snorkel gear, and beach towels were provided, if you need them. Please hike down to the secret little beach just steps away. We were met by a sea turtle resting on the little beach when we got there! Highly recommend!"

"Unit needs many repairs
The unit needs many repairs, the bathroom window fell off when we tried to open it for air. The bathroom shower towel rack was falling off from the showe door. The shower drain was clogged. We found a large centipede in the bathroom towel drawer. The blinds in the kitchen was stuck and wide open, we could not close it for privacy. The microwave above the stove was not working. The living room windows were repaired with unmatched window replacements using clear windows, which further compromised privacy. The floor and shower felt dirty, I don't think it was cleaned. The only positive about the unit was the view. I don't recommend this unit. We provided KauaiKahuna, the rental managing agency with this feedback and still haven't received a response. Not sure at this time if we would use KauaiKahuna again. We used KauaiKahuna many times in the past, never had problems with vacation units, but we are very surprised by the lack of response about customer concerns. "

"Great stay
We had a great stay at Sealodge F1. There is a nice view of the ocean from the unit. With the windows and fans, it didn't get too hot inside the unit. Very polite and fast response times from the property manager. The toaster and a fan were broken on arrival, but the property manager had new ones delivered the next day. The lighting in the unit needs an overhaul. It was all very dim. Other than that, it was great. We especially liked the hidden beach nearby. There is a trail right out side the unit that leads to a secluded beach that is great for snorkeling!"

"Wonderful week
Spectacular views. sunrises were incredible. F1 condo was very comfortable and perfect for My wife and I. I would recommend This for future visits .
There were a few minor issues .Since Much of the activities occur during the day and we were out all day , most nights we come back for some television time to unwind. The Tv was very small standard definition. Very frustrating
The pool was closed for maintenance all week unfortunately.
Lastly this condo does not have AC however we did purchase an inexpensive fan at near by hardware store which made the humidity tolerable.
In the end , these were minor issues but would love to stay here during future visits "

"Postcard views only
I booked this property for the location and the views. Both were spot on. Everything else, not so much. I'm not picky and do not need updated everything. Yes, much of the condo could use a major update. It was the non-functioning and broken items that bothered us, as well as the lack of any breeze due to other units blocking that amenity. Dishwasher didn't work. Not a big deal as we typically handwash our stuff just being two people. But they prefer you run everything through the dishwasher at the end. Broken. Half the light switches didn't work. Not even sure what they were for. One, to a wall lamp, made electrical noises when turning on and felt it was a fire hazard. Several windows wouldn't close properly. Towel bar on shower door was broken. Crumbs on floor tucked under the bottom edge of cabinets and stove area. The list of these little things go on. It's apparent this unit isn't visited often, if at all, by the owners. But, oh the views. Waterfall on mountains from the kitchen window. Rolling grassy knolls, palm trees, and ocean from the lanai. However, these can be had from several of the other units, which we will be choosing from next time. Skip this one until repairs have been made, my friends. "
