A 2024 Traveler Review Award winning rental, Mauna Kai 5B is centrally located in Princeville, allowing for easy access to island hotspots like Hanalei, Anini Beach, and Kapa'a. The famous golden sands of Anini Beach are just a short 10-minute hike away down a shaded tree-lined path, making it easy to enjoy sun and surf. The property is also right next to the lush Makai Golf Course, where you can enjoy a morning walk along the scenic greenbelt, or take the path to the 1 Hotel at the far end of Princeville. The Westin Resort, just a 5-minute walk down Wyllie Road, provides convenient access to a Starbucks, grab-and-go mini-mart, and upscale dining at Nanea Restaurant. For even more options, the Princeville Shopping Center, with a variety of boutique shops, casual dining spots, and the Foodland grocery store, is just a 10-minute walk away. Reservations cancelled 31-60 days prior to your contracted check-in date will be assessed a 50% cancellation penalty. For reservations cancelled 30 or fewer days prior to arrival, no refund will be made except for the cleaning fee. Any unused portions of the contracted reservation dates are non-refundable. Any interruption of services within the property, or inclement weather during your stay, will not serve to void or cancel the rental agreement.

"Large, lovely home in paradise
Mauna Kai 5B shares the upper (top) level of this vacation condo. Lots of room, including a massive, wrap-around balcony. Vaulted ceilings make the place feel so spacious and welcoming. Lots of patio doors and windows to keep a breeze flowing through the place. Communal pool is 9' deep and big. Great to cool off in, or lounge around. Communication with property manager was easy and responsive. We loved our week-long stay."

"Nice property
The unit is exactly as the pictures show. It was clean. However, as the description says- there is no A/C in the unit which made it incredibly hot. The trade winds did not help. However, we did find that 2 of the bedrooms had a window unit. Unfortunately, the on in the smaller bedroom the a/c doesn't reach the outlet and they did not provide an extension cord. It did make it uncomfortable without A/C and for the price I would not go back.
On another note- they have extensive instructions on how to keep the unit clean. I am very clean myself so this was great. However, they did not provide the necessary means to clean (paper towels, cleaning agents, or rags). I do not find it acceptable to request that level of cleanliness of your guest and not provide the materials to do so.

"Would stay here again! Loved the place!
Absolutely loved our stay at this location. It was so nice to have space. Loved the wrap around balcony. Love the decor. We would definitely stay here again. Really beautiful property. We would have liked to have some beach chairs. That's our only ... not even a complaint.. but that would've been perfect. Thank you for this great place. :)"

"Lovely stay!
The master bedroom, living room, kitchen and balcony are wonderful, beautifully decorated and breezy. The Ist floor main bedroom is very simple and small. The upstairs bedroom is very hot with no outside windows. Though there are fans, the room requires AC to be a good place to sleep. It would not be tolerable in warm months. "

"Great gathering spot
We traveled with three generations: two young kids, two parents, and two grandparents. The large open area was a great gathering spot for everyone to relax in the mornings, during nap time, and in the evenings. The lanai was a great coffee spot each morning with lots of space for our toddlers to explore and play. The single step down in the primary suite, on the lanai and into the den were a little difficult to navigate both by the kids and grandparents. The pool was too cold for the kids this time of year (Feb). The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect. "

"Good Rental with Some Easy Wins to Make It Great
The latest renovation is beautiful. You can tell that the interior design work is done by a pro.
The wrap-a-round deck is great with a lot of room. There are lots of windows but the inside is quite sheltered from the sun so it doesn't get too hot. There a lot of operable windows as well to get a cross draft. There are air conditioners for the bedrooms on the main floor which is great. The facility grounds are gorgeous.
Improvements that could be made:
Basic supplies. Pepper and a few coffee pods were the only food supplied in the kitchen (not even salt was provided?). There were dishwasher pods but only enough for 4 days out of our 7 day stay. Just give your renter $5 more in supplies so they don't have to spend their vacation trying to buy basic amenities.
The second bedroom light and fan switch/control controlled the fan and light in the first bedroom.
I would be nice to have a clothes dresser in the upstairs bedroom.
On the whole, a good place to stay in a good location."

"kauai dream
This condo was the perfect place to stay. It was our first time on this island and the location of this condo was ideal. The layout was airy and roomy. Lots of windows, and if you need absolute privacy there are parts of the deck that offer that. Kitchen was nice to prepare meals and all appliances were excellent quality. We only missed a barbecue. Otherwise it was super clean and amazingly comfortable. "
