The hot tub didnt get above 93 degrees and the pool was very blue, it wasnt appealing to get into. The lane going up to the cabin could use some work, I think it would be hard for cars to get up. The waterfall in the pool did not work while we were there but that didn't affect pool use. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. One bed was very comfortable but the other bed upstairs was not, but that is everyone's personal preference. Only problem we had while there and had to report was the upstairs shower leaked into the bedroom below it. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to return." This was a trip with our adult children, and they were also impressed with the cabin. We were even fortunate enough to see two bear on the way to our cabin. Plenty to do on site if you didn't feel like making the drive into town though. Pool is a bit smaller than expected from the pictures, but still a very nice amenity to have inside(especially if weather conditions aren't great to be outside). I wish it hadn't rained so much, as we would have loved to use the outdoor fireplace on the main floor a bit more. Property management was very helpful and quick to respond when we reached out with any questions. We would definitely rent this house again and encourage others to do the same!" "Great Family Getaway When we arrived the cabin was well stocked with supplies and very clean, the pool and hot tub were warm and clean ready to be used and we jumped in right away! The kids loved the pool, and one thing if I were the property owner I would list in the description of this cabin if it were me, is that the pool is a saltwater pool and not chlorine, that would have been a selling point for me bc I like to avoid as many chemicals as I can with my kids. Even though they were nice enough to send a video and there is directions displayed we did have a hard time navigating the theatre room, but it was very comfortable the chairs reclined and my kids loved the large beanbags. The showers and copper tub were very luxurious, and the beds were surprisingly very comfortable. We also very much enjoyed all the fireplaces and rocking chairs it felt very cozy. Stained Linens: The master bed sheets had noticeable blood stains, and similar issues were found with the sheets on the bunk beds. This is unacceptable for a supposed 5-star resort. 3. Towel Quality: The towels provided were rough, and some even had blood stains. Incorporating fabric softener would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Maintenance Issues: The BBQ not lighting and the unheated pool were significant disappointments. The staff told me to go to store and buy a lighter and was unable to provide one to start the BBQ. Additionally, several light bulbs were burnt out, the driveway lacked proper lighting, and the AC condenser was excessively loud. 5. Broken Fixtures: The sink in the upstairs bathroom had broken components, resulting in limited hot water access and a need for constant adjustment. 6. Neglected Amenities: The copper tubs, a potential highlight, were tarnished and showed signs of neglect, detracting from their appeal. Moreover, it was inconvenient to find that the garbage had not been picked up, and guests were required to dispose of it in other containers. Overall, the conditions I experienced were more akin to a budget hotel or hunting cabin rather than a luxury resort. The lack of proper cleaning and maintenance severely impacted the overall experience. Given these issues, I believe a significant reduction in price (at least 30%) would be more reflective of the actual value provided. The cabin offered a great view of the resort, as well as breathtaking views inside the cabin. The entire cabin contained rich pine walls and floors, huge gas fireplaces and spectacular bathrooms. The two main bedrooms each had fireplaces, along with large walk-in showers. Swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen with grill and deck with fireplace completed the cabin. Our family of six had a great time with only a few concerns. The brass bathtub drain would not seal and was told by resort management that one had been ordered. One of the coffee makers did not work, but the cabin did have two others so it did not matter. The cabin was clean and well maintained and we would definitely stay again. (Our original reservation was in a different cabin, but was sold before our stay. Management of Elk Springs did a fantastic job of finding us a different cabin, all at no additional cost. This was pretty disappointing. My kids loved the theater room and pool/hot tub. The cabin was clean for the most part with the occasional spider web and dead bugs, but that I feel like is no major deal. There were no kitchen garbage bags, but after speaking with guest services the maintenance crew brought them up quickly for us. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we plan to be back. When we left, the bathtub was still not fixed. We checked in Sunday, maintenance responded on Monday and we checked out on Saturday. We also couldn’t find the cabin our first night because the directions weee terrible and the signs were hard to read at night. The number they provide if you have any issues getting in your cabin was useless. The woman who answered literally couldn’t do anything other than to contact someone else to provide assistance. After 45 minutes being outside in the dark and cold while hearing wild life around us, we hopped back in the car and started driving. Still no call back but luckily we managed to find it on our own. However, I would like to give feedback on why I rated the place a one for cleanliness. Before we arrived, we were delayed for one hour due to the cabin was not ready. We get there and the place was not clean. The counter had left over crumbs and sticky stuff on it, the floor had sticky stuff on it, the refrigerator had food spills in it, and the bed sheets were not changed from the previous guests. The sheets and pillows had hair and dingy areas on it. Not just one bed but all beds had the same issues. We experienced delayed check in, I would assume to clean...But it was not done throughly. Very disappointing. This made us feel like nothing else was cleaned, so we spent the first hour of our time wiping the counters and refrigerator with wipes. We had to purchase sheets to sleep on in order to sleep comfortably. A cleaning fee was included in the cost but it was not cleaned. If customers are paying so much to rent, the place should feel, smell and physically be cleaned properly. We pay too much to have had that type of experience. The next day, we did get a call from customer service to check on our experience. They did offer to bring housekeeping back out but we had already did what they should have. Again, overall the cabin was beautiful, quiet and fun with all of the amenities included. I would recommend to others��. The roads at the complex were clear by late morning. The electric went out at 5am on the 3rd and didn’t come back on till 10:30pm. We were able to grill out for dinner. The cabin got down to 60* due to no heat. That brings me to one suggestion if possible. The gas fireplaces didn’t work, it would have been nice to have a way to ignite them without electricity. With all that being said the cabin was clean and easy to feel at home there. We have stayed at Elk Springs Resorts several times and will continue to do so. The pool, theater room, showers, etc were such a nice treat and it made you never want to leave! When you arrive at the cabin,there is only 2 cabins on this particular road- the one we stayed at and another one beside it. We had so much privacy it wasn't like the other places that stack cabins right beside each other. The decoration were so Beautiful and my daughters room had a bear rug! The showers are a nice treat with 7 sprayers! Elk Springs staff checked in to make sure we found the cabin and that everything was OK. It was such a wonderful vacation and can't wait to come back. If I had to find something to complain about- which didn't stop us from having an amazing time- We had to do a little housekeeping when we got there it was odd to see crumbs on the couches and cupholders, sticky spill on the floor, dirty refrigerator, cooking utensils still had leftover food on them- but I would have washed them anyways before use just to make sure. The highest windows in the living room really heat the cabin a lot & it was very hard for the ac to cool down the cabin and stayed at 77° for almost 2 days before it finally cooled down plus the sun light coming through makes it to where you can't even be in the dining room because the sun just beams on you. There is a sign to put mats on the kitchen bar to reduce sun exposure but we couldn't put our drinks or snacks anywhere near the dining room or kitchen bar because of the sun. (Sweet 16 bday getaway, we had a ton of snacks!) The address is not correct on the emails or my GPS wouldn't take me to the right cabin- and you will have to drive around the resort a little ways before you see the name of the cabin and it would help to have a 4wd or suv/truck getting up the gravel driveway. This is a great cabin in the hills of Gatlinburg; all wood interior, small inside pool with water fall, vaulted ceilings, game room, media room, beautiful porch, big grill, fireplaces, well stocked supplies, and very clean. All 5 star! However, we had a major problem where the upstairs shower water leaked into the downstairs bedroom thru the electrical light sockets. We had to set up buckets and towels. They could not get it fixed. They asked us not to use the shower and would not compensate us for the inconvenience. (They did not return repeated phone calls.) Two other minor issues: 1) There is steep gravel climb to the cabin where the driveway has some small ruts; one Honda Accord had to really gun it to get up the hill. Our two SUVs had no problem climbing the gravel driveway. (After all, it is a cabin in the hills!) 2) The media room controls was not easy to flip from the different sources. (There were 4 or 5 remotes to get it to work; it would be nice if there was just one "Master" box (or remote) to simplify the process.) Other than that, it was a great stay. My family stayed here with another family. We had plenty of space. The kids loved the pool, movie theater room, arcade games, and foosball table. The adults were partial to the hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and bags. This cabin is newer, so the drive is made of gravel. It’s a steep incline and was difficult to drive up to in a minivan. Our vehicles took on some new dings trying to gun it up the gravel drive. The cleaning left a bit to be desired. There was some articles of trash left on the floor from previous renters. The ceiling fans were covered in dust. The dishes had to be washed before they were suitable for use. This was all disappointing. We aren’t fancy people, so staying at a cabin like this was supposed to be a real luxury. Coming in and cleaning right upon checkin isn’t what we had in mind. The flooring in the pool and hot tub area is very, very slippery. Even when exercising great caution, our group experienced a number of falls. The flooring needs to be texturized. There could have been serious injuries. The washing machine had the hot and cold water hooked up incorrectly, so some of our clothing was damaged from colors bleeding. There was a leak in the main floor bedroom coming from the ceiling. Management was informed and said these issues would be addressed. I’m not sure how all of that is possible when the next renters would be checking in in 5 hours, but I hope most issues were resolved. I’ve stayed with Elk Springs before and had a wonderful experience, so this was a little disappointing. We splurged on this rather pricey cabin hoping for luxury and felt a little let down. We were expecting excellence since it was a brand new cabin but it was the worst vacation experience of our lives. No signage to find the cabin because it was new, but The person that was supposed to help us on the phone didn’t know how to get there either, it took us an hour of driving around the resort before we found our cabin. The code that was given to us to get in the front door didn’t work neither did the code they gave us to get into the pool...Maintenance had to come that night and totally replace the lock on the door - it would have been nice if somebody would’ve tested it before we got there. Bedroom furniture was new but it had not been cleaned, it was super dusty, so we had to dust before we could really settle in the cabin that first night. The living room furniture, also new, looked super comfortable but 2 of the reclaimer were broken. Something was spilled in the kitchen floor, so it was super sticky until we cleaned it. The upstairs bathroom was beautiful but every time we showered upstairs it “RAINED” in our children’s bedroom downstairs. The beautiful brand new tub in the master bathroom didn’t work. In years past, we have stayed in other cabins that were not new but they were clean and the customer service was excellent. This time we paid significantly more for a smaller cabin but we were glad and excited because the cabin was brand new....I cleaned more and did more laundry on this vacation that I do at home (many towels were used every day to dry all the water that was coming from upstairs bathroom into our children’s room)...AND I paid lots of money for it. After speaking with someone in “customer service” were discounted $80 of the thousand of dollars we paid but never even called to communicate, apologize or simply inform us of the credit...we just got an invoice via email with the credit. Again, the worst experience ever! We have pictures & videos of all of it..." The Pac-Man machine, theater, and corn hole was a hit with everyone. The outdoor kitchen was amazing too. I would highly recommend this place for a nice family get away. Fantastic!"
