Visitor Reviews (62) Write a Review! "Elk Springs Resort Cabin- It's All Good My family (4 adults) stayed at this resort cabin for 5 days and had a wonderful stay there. There was plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountain side. It had a large kitchen, spacious bedrooms, covered porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the scenery, good size bathrooms, pool table and hot tub to enjoy. Location was good- just a short drive to Dolly Parton's Stamped and Dollywood; 30 minute drive to Gatlinburg and the National Park. Only negatives things to mention were: the refrigerator door didn't close tight all the way- had to make sure it was engaged before bedtime. Also, when we first arrived we noticed the bathroom toilet bowls had a dis-colored ring around them. We brought this to the attention of the management company and they sent some people out but did not resolve the issue. Just a FYI: if you have young children and want to stay here, there is no play area outside of the cabin because how the house sits on a steep incline." Upstairs bedroom smells like urine and has trouble staying cool in the summer heat. Upstairs shower has mold along the floor grout. Couldn't get the fireplace to work in the large downstairs bedroom. Main and upper floors are very uneven and in need of structural reinforcement; wood floor has deep scratches in places and is separating with very large gaps between the planks - needs replacement. Hot tub needs some attention as well. Nice view from the porch, but pictures don't show the large power lines running along the left-side of the view. Back porch is narrow and smells like grill grease. Communal pool and hot tub are at the entrance of the facility, and the cabin is at the very back of the facility, up a very, very steep hill - plan accordingly. Property is about 10-15 minutes from town, along winding backroads. Fun drive if you bring a capable car; a bit more scary if you have a large vehicle." We liked the set up of bedrooms and loft. The master bedroom with a great window view, with the hot tub and walk - in shower is on the loft level. The other to bedrooms are down a set of stairs and nice and private. Two bathrooms downstairs, one on main level, and one for master bedroom. Great bathroom situation. Beds were wonderfully comfortable. Kitchen was very very well stocked and I liked how it was open to the sitting room and dining area. The small touch of themed decorations everywhere was lovely. There were games and movies available too. Our only issue was the out door hot tub jets didn't work well even after being looked at. However, both times we have stayed with Elk Spring maintenance has been great to work with. We enjoyed going to the Stampede, Parrot Mountain , Annakeesta, and tubing in Big Creek. The cabin was just a few minutes from town and provided spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. It was well equipped and clean with everything we needed for our stay. The resort staff was always just a phone call away, and they were quick to assist us with anything we needed. The kids loved the jacuzzi on the lower outside deck of the cabin. We are already talking about going back to the resort again later this year. We found 3 roaches and there were MANY asian beetle all over the house. I understand the asian beetle as they are migrating, but ROACHES! That is disgusting! The shower leaked through the floor, so our stuff got wet from dripping water. It was too much to even ask about anymore, we were all frustrated. Would NOT stay again for sure. We took early morning walks to take in the fresh air and other views. Personally I think our cabin have the best view. At night sitting on the porch we saw lightning bugs and could see a Ferris shell and carnival off in the distance. Inside we sat the the table with plenty of room for all six of us to play board games and drink. We sat on the sofa and watched NBA play off games. Other times we all rose up to the game room. Played pool a d arcade with lots of laughter and fun. There was plenty of bathrooms so no one had to wait to take a showe. The beds were very comfortable so everyone had a great night sleep so we could be ready for the next exciting day. We took wine tours that were about ten minutes away and even enjoyed a Motown concert. Away from everything but close enough to everything when you needed. Shopping, restaurants, winery and entertainment. Our stay was everything we wanted it to be plus a lot of extras. Elk spring text me the code to enter the cabin when it was ready, so it was easy to check in and out. Just text them when we left the cabin we encountered one mishap ran out of propane for the grill but they got us another tank with no problems. The cabin was clean and provided us with everything we need to stay our vacation off on a good note. They provide pot,pans,paper towels, toilet paper, towels ECT. We had a fantastic weekend getaway (my wife and I and our teen son & daughter) at the "It's All Good!" cabin. Some of the other reviews are a bit harsh (and we have stayed in many VRBO properties and hotels in our lives - we are not rookie travelers)...you are renting a cabin in TN, not a Four Seasons in Aspen. The property was well maintained and clean, and the pictures are accurate online. There were a few hiccups, as there always are. The heat is a bit uneven throughout the house at night (although if you follow the directions on the downstairs electric fireplaces, the bedrooms are toasty). The hot tub took a few hours to heat up, but that is proof it was drained and cleaned between guests - a good thing! The upstairs bathroom had a bit of an odor, and the beds were not the most comfortable in the world, but those things PALE in comparison to the great features. The all-wood decor was cozy. The hot tub on the balcony was fantastic on a chilly evening. Plenty of chairs to sit outside and see the sunset behind the mountains, the fog in the Smoky Mtns in the morning with a cup of coffee or beside the grill while making dinner. The game room was AWESOME - perfect for our teens. The pool table was in good shape and the retro arcade was a blast for our technically-advanced kids! The TVs all worked, as did the WiFi without a hitch. Plenty of room by the big dining room table for eating and games. Our kids actually wanted to get back to the cabin instead of doing more in Pigeon Forge because they were having so much fun with the view and the hot tub and the games. The location is great - dead quiet in nature but within 15 minutes of all the attractions. Net-net, while there were a handful of tiny things that were not perfect (and who really thinks properties (or life - especially in 2020!) would be perfect?), it was a fantastic stay. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again, and highly recommend it to others!" We will consider this cabin and Elk River Resorts again as we enjoyed the area. We have provided comments in an outline format walking through the reservation process, first impressions of the cabin and overall satisfaction. Initial online & phone reservation process - very good Payments were withdrawn against our CC as presented - OK We did not receive any information email etc. confirming our reservation or providing details until several follow ups and then in pieces, Rental Agreement etc., address finally provided the evening of the 19th, less than 24 hours from check-in. - communications needs to improve. Check-in / -out process - very good Upon arrival one of the smoke detectors was going off, needed a battery and maintenance came by and fixed within an hour, very good. We could not find any trash bags but the maintenance technician had some in his truck he shared. Generally very clean, cleaning crew missed some popcorn under the coffee table in the living room. They do need to perform maintenance on the gas grill; had a grease fire which we managed without incident, the grill even though was on the middle floor was infested with grease ants, found ant bait under the kitchen sink which resolved the issue at least for our stay. We found some dishes in the cupboards were wet, suspect they just came out of the dishwasher. The microwave door handle was broken, only attached at the top, someone had tried to repair with what appeared to be electrical tape but it did not hold. We also noted that one of the counter height chairs in the dinning area was missing 3 of the 8 support rungs, we did not use this chair. Wish they could include a floor plan in the description, we have some mobility limitations (use a cane), not a major issue but knowing could influence our decision on future cabin selection. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom, near the hot tube, the first evening. Decided to move to t" Oct 11, 2020 - , Collierville, TN "Over all Ok experience Property location and view was great. Inside room was not well cleaned. We have dust on the bed frames and other areas. Master bathroom shower door was not able to close properly. Not able to check in at 3 PM and had to wait until 4:30 PM for whatever reason. Sofa-sleeper is not good to sleep, so that we have to adjust in the regular bed." Aug 04, 2020 - , Tampa, FL "Its NOT all good Horrible company all around. First they say check in is at 3pm got a text around 12 stating cabin should be ready at 4. Got to the cabin right at 4 pm after driving 12 hours to get there. Called the company because I didn't get a door code, they said they didnt know when the room would be ready and they would call me back. 30 mins later they call back saying the cabin still needed to be cleaned and they dont know how long it will be. Didnt get to go inside till after 6pm!! Not a good start. (Also when you call the company nobody EVER answers the phone, you have to let it ring for over 5 mins and leave a message and cross your finger someone will call you back). On the second night we realized there were bats living in the cabin, we saw at least 40 that we counted coming out of the roof. Bat poop is all over the balconies. The bedroom on the top floor smelled so bad from the bats, it smelled like cat ****, we couldn't even sleep in the room. The master room downstairs bed frame was broken and the tried to just fix it with wood pieces to hold it up but the bed broke in the middle of the night. They knew the bed was broke and rigged it instead of replacing the frame. Called the company left message, no one called back, called the next day for them to send maintenance out. Next morning they told us we had to leave and they can either cabin hope us for the next 3 nights or we can end our vacation. We chose to book a hotel somewhere else. Most unprofessional company ever!! We had to toss all our groceries we bought and pack up and leave in a moment's notice. Ruined a whole day just packing and trying to find another place to go. They said they would refund me the nights we didnt stay, after a week of waiting still didnt get a credit called them for them to tell me they havent processed it yet. Still waiting on my refund... The cabin was beautifully decorated. The only negative thing I'd have to say is the location of the outdoor got tub is in an inconvenient location. The two downstairs bedrooms are the only access. There isnt an entrance/exit to the lower deck without disturbing someone in a bedroom. Otherwise, everything else was great!" The cabin was tastefully decorated, clean and offered lots of activities for the children. The open kitchen, living room and dining room located on level two, allowed us all to gather and enjoy an unobscured view of the smoky mountains. The game room which included a pool table, video arcade, board games chess and puzzles, was on level two, along with the master. Great space for adults and children. The first night we were up until 2am completing a monopoly tournament. Kids rooms were on the first level along with the hot tub. Level 1 is built into the side of a hill. WithTurning off the ac heat, the temperature of the rooms maintained a comfortable 60 degrees, perfect for sleeping and to enjoy the electric fireplaces in each room.
