Anini Beach: Snorkeling & Sea Turtle Tips: Anini Beach is home to Hawaii’s longest and widest fringing reef, creating a vast, shallow lagoon that is nearly always calm—perfect for beginner snorkelers and spotting our beloved Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu). Turtles are most often found in the shallow, sandy areas where they graze on lush sea grass. For the best visibility, go in the early morning before the winds pick up and stir the sediment.
• Sea turtles are a threatened species and are strictly protected by state and federal law. To ensure they stay safe (and you avoid fines up to $1,500+) always stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from turtles, whether in the water or on the sand. Never touch, feed, or chase a turtle. If one swims toward you, stay still and let it pass.
• Always use Reef-Safe Sunscreen. Traditional sunscreens contain chemicals that bleach and kill the delicate coral reef.
• Safety First: Stay within the reef, in the protected shallow areas. And never snorkel alone, always have a buddy and keep an eye on each other.

"Beautiful quiet place
We arrived on Kauai during a rain storm. Directions to the Rental property was fairly easy except knowing where our parking stall was. There was a map in the parking area to find our unit. We arrive at 3 pm check in time, but our unit was not ready ,cleaning lady asked us for an hour. I then contacted Customer Service to let them know. They apologize for the inconvenience and told us that they would allow us to check out at 12 super amazing.
The unit was clean and spacious. Rooms was cozy and beds were comfortable. The unit has no AC, but there were fans in each room and ceiling fans. Washer and dryer was definitely helpful but I would suggest buying your own detergent. Kitchen had everything except for a rice cooker and condiments. Patio was beautiful and it had a closet full of beach chairs, boards etc and even a cooler that we used and found out later. It didn’t have a plug and it leaked all over ourRental Car. We enjoyed the old games and puzzles. Pool closed early so we didn’t get to use it. We were out most of the day but came back cooked dinner and played games. You can’t make a lot of noise so definitely not a place to throw a large big loud party but it was perfect for us. Definitely would rent it again. "

"Lovely location on North Shore
This was a great landing spot for our family’s adventures on the North Shore of Kauai. This was a very clean, comfortable condo with plenty of space for 5 adults. Comfortable beds and living room, nicely remodeled bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen and added amenities such as beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, cooler, boogie boards, etc. Walk to nearby beach was 15 minutes down a steep (but pretty and manageable) trail. Quick 10-15 drive to heart of Hanalei and Kīlauea, with Princeville shops and restaurants even closer. Good communication with host and easy check-in / check-out. Was worried about unit having no AC, but ample fans around the condo kept it cool and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again."

The exterior and condo community the unit is a part of feels tired and dated. The location is good. Inside the amenities are good, although the lack of air conditioning is a bit disappointing. There are fans to keep cool, but AC would feel nicer. "

"I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN
Pros-Price was right. Good location in Princeville. Comfortably sleeps 4, 6 Ok if smaller kids in the loft. Plenty of towels and beach stuff. Good water pressure in the shower.
Cons-we arrived and the sidewalks were being replaced. Made a little challenging to get to the condo. All the rooms seemed big enough for king beds but they went small. No parking pass could be found so we had to make our own. Bathroom doors upstairs were hard to crazy hard to figure out.
Overall OK place. We would stay again. "

"Perfect place to reset !
It was my first trip to Kauai and I'm so glad that we ended up renting with Kauai Kahuna Vacation Rentals! Their customer service was spectacular. Puamana 25B was a great home for us for the week. It was nice that the pool was so close, and we enjoyed hiking down the the small, quiet beach close by. "

We have stayed in Princeville many times in different rental properties.Princeville as a location is great. Compared to previous stays we were a little less impressed with this property. Overall the place was very clean, spacious, and the 3 sleeping spaces were perfect for 2 adults and 2 teenage kids. The communal swimming pool is quite small compared to the other properties in the area. At this specific rental, the outdoor furniture was rusty and broken, so no breakfasts outside were possible. The dryer was broken when we arrived (but was fixed after 3 days). We experienced some heavy rain showers, and the property roof had a small leak that left the inside stairs damp.The management company was quite friendly and helpful. It may well be that the next renters see none of these issues."

The condo is located well and has good amenities. If you are looking at this location or one similar, ask questions. This unit was listed on VRBO as a 3 bed/2 bath. What we discovered was a 2 bedroom with an open loft. Not ideal for three couples. "

"Perfect lodging
There were 4 ladies in our party and we loved the accomodations at Puamana 25B. Everything was clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils. The bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of towels. This is a lovely , quiet place to stay even tho you can't see the ocean from the condo it is not a very far walk to get a view. (At one point, we needed some beach towels and so we called the management company and the towels arrived in under an hour) "

"Comfy place to stay
Very comfortable living space. The walk to the beach is short but very steep, not necessarily safe for elderly. And the path does not connect to Anini beach proper. Neighbor can be loud on occasion. Overall very nice location for exploring the north shore of Kauai. Loved Bar Acuda for dinner and Hanalei Bread Company For breakfast and coffee. Both in Hanalei. "

"Beautiful places for a getaway!
The condo was very clean and in a great area! However we had trouble initially finding it because it was tucked back so far, I wish that there would have been better instructions for the exact location. But we finally found it! The condo itself was beautiful and very clean there is no AC but there are plenty of fans to keep cool. The last few nights we discovered some cockroaches on the outside lanai. It was also close to many great beaches and shops. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Nice place .... great area .... quiet .... roach issues
We had a great time in Kauai, the condo was perfect , setup very nice with 3 bedrooms, kitchen was great ...we had 11 days there and we would go back but I would check to see if the roach issue is under control... about 5 days into our stay at night the not so little roaches would come out ... make sure you turn on the lights when you walk around the house at night !!! . The management and owner had pest control in before we arrived to control the 2 inch roaches but they were still moving around while we were there ... occasionally at night I would have to fight a roach for the bathroom . I sent pictures to the management and they did nothing , so in all I disposed of 8 roaches , 3 I dealt with and 5 that looked like they had some kind of pest control issues but were still alive and moving around ... I was not impressed and probably would not stay there again ... There was no consideration for this by the owner or management and we paid very well for this condo ... I did not expect to share the condo with roaches and was perfectly fine with the condo until we had roaches ... the place was always clean and garbage out daily ... Honestly they should have considered a partial refund ....The condo was beautiful but I would not recommend to stay here only because of the roach issues "

"Wonderful condo with many comforts
This condo was perfect for my family of six. It was clean, well-equipped, and close to all amenities. We could walk to the Princeville Plaza and a path leading to Anini Beach is also close. While there are no views of mountains and ocean from the unit, close access to the pool and beautiful tropical foliage around the unit more than made up for it. All told, a great holiday experience."

"Incredible getaway
Puamana is a nice complex situated in the Princeville area on the North Shore, one of the most beautiful areas of the world. It is not far from the beach and other amenities. Our unit (25B), was large enough for the entire family and everyone had their own room and space. Lots of beach supplies available, the cooler came in handy daily. Overall I would recommend the rental to all my family and friends. "

"Relaxing and Refreshing Retreat
Unit matched the posted description and was most comfortable (especially beds which can often be too soft or too hard). Trip was for a relative's wedding so many family traveled and stayed at various abodes and some who visited this one commented positively about the upgrades. Although the "walk" to Anini Beach was not attempted it was a short drive (with the items being taken along) as well as being within five minutes of the beach at Hanalei. A well-stocked Foodland eliminated any lengthy shopping runs. Property was clean, peaceful, parking easy, pool never seemed crowded, and unit contained all kitchen utensils desired, as well as all necessities."
