Shopping and dining are conveniently close, with the Princeville shopping center just a mile and a half away. You could actually see the dust and dirt on the couch and chairs. My sinuses were a mess after 2 weeks. And the tile floor was nice but it also needs to be steam cleaned. The bathroom tub and sink have recently been updated but no grab bars have been installed. I went and bought a mat for the bottom of the tub so we didn't slip. The kitchen has been updated and is very nice. There were only 2 bowls in the kitchen, both are broken. We had to call and request toilet paper, soap, dish soap an garbage bags. They did not provide shampoo or conditioner. We would return to Sealodge but not to that unit. It was beautiful there and has the best views. We return to Princeville several times a year. Simply not enough dishes and silverware in my opinion.. dishwasher is not full size- although it appears that there was clearly room for a full size dishwasher as the extra space is boarded up. You will be doing dishes a lot. But given the lack of dishes cutlery mugs! -No plastic dishes or tumblers which if you’re taking stuff outside most people I think would prefer some plastic -I have found in most other rentals on Hawaii of which I have probably been in over 25 that there is usually a better provision of basics like foil, plastic wrap, although they did have lots of plastic baggies, which was great, basic condiments, including maybe ketchup and or mustard etc - screen door- the sliding door to the ground level patio seemed old- what I really didn’t like about it was that you could not lock the screen door so sometimes you might be in the unit and want to leave that door open but with the screen door shut. Loved where the dining table was placed. It was like being outside while dining. 2 portable fans helped moved the air throughout unit. Yes, the property is older and looks funky but the unit was clean enough with tile floors, newer dishwasher and refrigerator and lots of windows full of the beautiful view. Only incident I had on first day there was the beach chairs must of had mango oils from hitting trees or juice from skins but I unfortunately found out the hard way I have a awful allergic reaction to Mango oil, skin etc (same as poison oak/ivy) and ended up in the urgent care in Princeville. Left message with management to make sure chairs were deep cleaned to avoid another incident for unknowing future guests. Never heard back from management, but we did tell the cleaning crew that came as we were leaving. But now we know and still hope to return." The views from the dining table as pictured and the lanai were exquisite as was the sound of the breaking surf. The upgraded pool facility was nice, parking was easy, location and access to Princeville cannot be beat. The unit has had some upgrades, but it is a bit run down. One the stove burners did not work, and the some of the kitchen items were sparse (3 wineglasses total). It was nice to have beach chairs, towels, etc. for our use. The barbecue situation is inadequate, requiring charcoal and a walk down a rutted path but understandable given the wood shake buildings. Management was easy to work with. No way to wash pots or pans, or wipe down counters or clean anything. There were literally 2 kleenex tissues in our box with no backup box provided. No wine glasses, very little glassware at all. Torrential rains last 2 days, possible tornado then road closings. Left for airport in flash floods. Roads were unbelievable.Condo was acceptable but quite small." Wish the orientations of build was just a bit more to right so that the lighthouse was in the view. On Kauai North, the sun sets over the mountain so you don’t have best sunsets ��. If you are a walker 4 small hidden beach’s are with in walking distance, and many larger beach’s are within 15-20 minute drive. Actual property is a bit dated, screen door jumps off it’s track, locks on doors were difficult to work, and kitchen was basic but adequate with appliances. Ice maker was not working, but had four ice we get by. Excellent entertainment center and internet. Bed was comfortable, very high, and no night stands or reading lights. One negative was homeowners association only has a couple charcoal BBQ’s, no gas, I love to BBQ, but didn’t since it is hassle to use charcoal. No hot tub at the pool either. Just be aware, we still sautéed nice fish, in a pan. But prefer BBQ. The area is fairly quiet and people nice. It was a quiet week for us, and we saw more chickens, and nene than people. Unless we walk to the two resorts." That was beautiful! And the sound of the crashing waves was great to fall asleep to. Beautiful sunrises were just outside the patio door a few steps too. What's not to like about this location? The unit was comfortable and included bogey boards, beach chairs and an beach umbrella for use. That being said, I must mention for the benefit of the owners that: 1. 1 of the bath towels and 2 of the hand towels had stains on them. 2. both the sliding door and the sliding screen were off their tracks which made them difficult to operate and lock. I placed them back in their tracks, so that is done. 3. the bedroom fan only had one speed - high - because the chain was missing that controlled the speed. It would have been nice a couple of nights to have had the medium speed. 4. two of the sidewalk lights were out near the building our unit was in, which made it difficult to see the sidewalk as we walked toward the building in the dark. 5. The corner windows were less than clean inside and out, the windows that are the very best feature of the unit. All of these conditions are easily remedied and hope that the owners will see fit to make the corrections for the future occupants of this unit. However, what you can't tell from the photographs is how comfortable the bed is or how pleasant the breeze feels. While the bathroom and kitchen are less than beautiful, they meet our basic needs. Another thing you can not tell from photos is how quite and tranquil the entire complex is (both day and night). Although you could occasionally hear footsteps coming from upstairs, the sound was never obtrusive. All total, we spent a little over a week in Kauai and can't wait to return. "Excellent Stay in Kauai My husband and I vacationed in Kauai and Maui for our honeymoon and booked a few nights stay at Sealodge G4 for the Kauai stretch of our trip. The property was exactly as advertised—amazing, quiet oceanfront location, perfect for a couple. The condo itself was extremely comfortable and offered all of the amenities we were looking for. Princeville is also a perfect location for those looking to explore everything the north shore area has to offer. We even ventured all the way around the island to Waimea Canyon one day and were back in time for dinner in nearby Hanalei Bay. The property is close to the nearby surf town of Hanalei Bay, which we visited almost daily. The town has a cool, laid-back vibe and offers a lot of great dining options for any time of the day. We also did a Na Pali boat tour, which was an absolutely amazing experience. There are also many beaches along the north shore that we explored and are worth checking out. We found them for the most part uncrowded, and each offered a unqiue experience. The ones we liked best were Sealodge Beach (right near the condo) and Secret Beach. Unlike many of the beaches we visited in Maui, these beaches have a wealth of natural shade from the beautiful trees lining the beaches. The property was clean and well-maintained. Kauai Kahuna Vacation Rentals provided us with a seamless renting experience. They provided all of the condo and check-in information well in advance. They even reached out to us via phone a few days before our trip and upon arriving to make sure we were all set and to answer any last minute questions. The complex is dated (which we knew) & interior upgrades are somewhat hodgepodge like new countertops on old cabinets. But, the place grew on us the longer we were there. The kitchen has the basic amenities and the property management company was quick to react to a suggestion we had. The bed was comfortable. It was nice to have use of washer/dryer and beach equipment. The complex is quiet and peaceful and the chickens and nenes provided entertainment. We would consider staying here again. It's a great place for a couple with fantastic ocean views from your bed. I wouldn't stay here with more than 1 other person as it's not a very big place. The booklet left for us was an incredibly valuable resource. Don't even bother trying to take the "path" to the beach as the posted signs suggest. You won't make it and you'll be frustrated the whole way by the steep and muddy inclines. Trust me, I'm an experienced hiker. Other than that, my favorite part of staying here was getting nightly / morning visits from a baby gecko who was so small I couldn't even pick him up. Wonderful little friend to keep us company."
