Sealodge G8 is beautiful and welcoming home-away-from-home that has some of the best views on the entire island! Situated in the heart of Princeville, your cozy escape has two bedrooms that look right out over the water, a comfortable and well-appointed living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. There's also a private lanai that looks all the way down the North Shore, and in the winter months you can watch whales and their calves breaching just off shore.
If you're able to tear yourself away from the sight of the waves crashing into the shore just outside your windows, you'll find that you're conveniently close to all that the North Shore has to offer at Sealodge G8. Anini Beach, just 15 minutes away, has calm, clear waters, and is great for snorkeling and swimming. The beautiful golden beaches of Hanalei Bay are also just 15 minutes away, and the water is gentle and shallow, great for swimmers of all ages. The charming Hanalei town is right nearby as well, and has all the boutique shopping and delicious eating you could ever want! Try some ultra-fresh fish at the Hanalei Dolphin, or grab a sweet treat at Wishing Well Shave Ice (if you've never had macadamia ice cream you're missing out!). If you don't mind a longer journey, Tunnels Beach is 30 minutes away, and has some of the best snorkeling on the island, and you'll likely spot some Honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles) too! For those that prefer to stay a little closer to home, the Princeville Shopping Center is only 1.5 miles away, about 5 minutes driving, and has a Foodland grocery store, and plenty of eating out options for casual dining close to home! Happy hour at Tiki Iniki is a great way to pass the afternoon with a cocktail and an appetizer!
Of course, if you're after a true staycation, the Sealodge grounds have all you need for a relaxing vacation right on the premises! You can spend the day lounging by the complex pool and soaking up the sun and the views, or you can throw an impromptu barbecue using the community charcoal grills. You don't even need to leave the complex to have a great beach day, either, just hike down to Sealodge Beach, about a 10 minute hike, to enjoy a secluded stretch of paradise with great fishing, great snorkeling, and no crowds!
Looking to make your way around the rest of the island? Drive time to the East Side (where the airport is located) is roughly 50 minutes, and to the South Shore is 75 minutes.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.
This is a third-floor condo so you need to be able to go up and down roughly 30 stairs. Additionally, there are stairs inside the unit itself. There are no elevators.
Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

"Great views, great privacy
We stayed in this condo unit for just a few days, but would book here again for a longer trip. Ocean views are incredible and you can hear the waves if the windows are open. The 2nd story patio is very private and maximizes the views. We also enjoyed the indoor seating area overlooking the ocean on a couple rainy afternoons. All around smooth stay, would recommend."

"Great view and location
The property has an amazing view and a great location if you are wanting to stay north. It was great waking up to the sunrise and sound of the ocean! It was nicely equipped with beach items and a cooler which was awesome.The unit we stayed in could use some updates. The bathrooms appeared to be updated some but the condo itself smelled extremely musty! I am assuming it was the carpet and maybe the kitchen cabinets that made it smell. (Just removing the carpet I think would help) I know it’s on the ocean and will be “damp” but we’ve stayed in other condos on the ocean and have never had one that smelled like this. Also, the folding door to the master was broken so didn’t shut. The entry door is right across from this so the outside porch light shines like a spotlight on the bed all night long. I would definitely recommend staying here despite the minor complaints."

"Birkle stay
The location and views are fabulous. Property management was very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of extra towels and bedding. They had all you need for beach days. Washer and dryer was very convenient( had to buy laundry detergent)
The Wi-Fi was troublesome but they gave instructions for any issues.
We absolutely loved this rental and when we return, we will stay here again.

The views we had were beyond magnificent. We woke up with the sun, and went to bed with it, too. The ocean breezes were incredible. But, there were some significant challenges. No air conditioning made hot and muggy days uncomfortable. We had a broken dryer (apparently known for awhile), a broken dishwasher door, two broken screens, and a possible termite issue. The support staff did their best to help, but we were CALLING TEXAS to address our issues. Communication was inconsistent. So, for the money we spent, it felt like too much time was spent addressing issues. It was like watching a movie and having someone's phone keep ringing-it broke, often, our suspension of disbelief."

"Great Getaway for Family of Four
Overall very enjoyable stay. Condo is small but certainly was large enough for a family of four. Location is spectacular overlooking the ocean perched on a bluff in beautiful Princeville. Path to secluded beach with excellent snorkeling. Well equipped with snorkel gear (including two sets of fins) boogie boards beach chairs and an abundance of beach toys. Interior is modest but clean and comfortable. But then again who needs ultra fancy interior with the ocean views so dominant? Only word of caution is the add-on assortment of fees and taxes not reflected on the advertised nightly rate and not prorated to length of stay, will double the true cost of staying there if one plans for only two or three nights. Would return again for longer stay."

"Unbeatable view and location
The views are stunning, and that’s what I came for. I could sit and drink that sea breeze all day. The unit itself is fine. Some minor problems, which seem to remain unfixed for years despite other reviewers mentioning them (e.g., TV volume can’t be changed—TVs are cheap!, dishwasher can’t open all the way). Management is very responsive, though. Very happy with our stay. "

"Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else -- Minor Quirks
This is our second time staying in this complex, and this condo has even better views than the first we had, right out to the ocean through every window. Every piece of furniture and the beds are incredibly comfortable and invite group lounging. We loved every minute inside this condo as well as the time we spent outside. The place had a few quirks: First, the door of the dishwasher didn't open all the way, so to access the lower tray you had to kind of jimmy it up and out, amid rattling (and, of course, dirty) dishes -- a fix wasn't available (island life!), but the rental company was responsive and sympathetic and offered suggestions. Second, the TV volume was fixed on a low setting. We put on the captions to help, but with one dyslexic adult and one 5-year-old who can't read yet, it was just not pleasant to watch movies (and yet we powered through!). A couple other things were that the wind blew off a screen (not their fault, I think), the upstairs shower had low pressure (not enough to rinse hair -- but the downstairs one was great!), and the toilet paper holder was not affixed to the wall. Nonetheless! Other than these minor inconveniences, you really can't beat this place for LOCATION, comfort, price, quietude, thoroughness of instructions, ease of check-in and check-out, and the delicious pool. We will be back!"

Cutest condo with amazing views and everything you need for a good price. The views postwd really do not do it justice. Views from every room and both bedrooms. It was very quiet and 10 min drive to hanalei bay. We really enjoyed our stay. You do need new frying pans though. They are horrible. "

"Amazing location and views!
The property manager was great - everything was as advertised, the check in and check out were smooth, and the manager called to check in, which was a really nice touch.
The views were phenomenal - simply outstanding!
The unit and complex were a bit dated, but given the great price I can't really complain. Would suggest updating the wood-grain slider to the bedroom, and a curtain/blind over the front door jalousie windows to block out the bright neighbors' outdoor lights. But again, a great deal overall and would recommend if someone is looking for this level of accommodation in a truly beautiful location."

Quiet and peaceful with breathtaking views. Perfect spot to explore the North shore. Just minutes away from shops and the grocery store made this an ideal location. There is no air conditioner so it does get warm inside the property. But with big windows and cool ocean breezes along with fans one can be a little warm and still enjoy this property. "

"Sea Lodge G8
The Sea Lodge G8 is in a wonderful location with spectacular ocean views from the living room and both bedrooms. We loved waking up every morning to a the sun rising over the water and going to sleep hearing the ocean waves and feeling the trade wind breeze. The unit was clean and well furnished with comfortable beds. The kids enjoyed being upstairs in the loft area. The kitchen was well-stocked, though the faucet was a little loose and lacked pressure. We also really appreciated the beach and snorkeling gear. (Though two of the boogie boards were broken and there wasn’t an umbrella, so we ended up going to several stores to find one.) The condo grounds are beautiful and the it’s well situated. We hiked down to the beautiful Sea Lodge Beach. Queen’s Bath and Hideaway Beach are also nearby and stunning. The road to Hanalei is under construction and only open during certain times of the day, so it’s important to plan ahead. Overall, we thought it was an excellent value and would recommend it."

We usually rent a 1 bedroom condo, but were happy to have the extra space available for visiting grandkids. As always, it was great to hear the surf 24/7 and enjoy the great views.
The master bedroom is pretty snug for the queen bed and we kept hitting for shins on the pretty, but in the way wooden bed frame."

"We want to go back!
We loved this rental! The views were amazing. It was so convenient how it was stocked with beach gear. We had everything we needed for snorkeling. We really liked the lush location with all the flowers and chickens! We really enjoyed the north shore. The notebook in the unit had lots of helpful info about farmers markets, restaurants, etc. We definitely want to come back and stay here again. The management staff were so nice and I loved how in touch they were. "

"Great spot but condo just OK
The location of this condo was excellent pertaining to its views. However the condo itself really needs some work. It is very liveable but needs some TLC; i.e.; caulking, painting, doesn't smell clean, lanai screen door the frame is rusty. I know rust is common due to the humidity but this is the worst we've seen. Our kitchen faucet was loose and needed attention. The dishwasher isn't really necessary and it had spots where it was rusty. There was this moldy, musty smell throughout the entire condo.
Sealodge property could also use some TLC. Some of the steps are rotting out. All the window frames are black metal, perfect for absorbing heat which one does not need in a warm climate to begin with. I doubt much has done since it was built.
Serina (sp?) with Kauai Kahuna was phenomenal. numerous emails on instructions, before and after phone calls, was prompt on returning calls. I would give her 6 stars.
Overall, I would rent through Kauai Kahuna again but would look for a different place to stay."

"Greatly location and views
The views are exactly as advertised, and the location was convenient! There was lots of beach and snorkel gear available to use which made our beach hopping easier. The rental is also near the Ha’eana State Park shuttle pickup spot at the Makai Golf Club. Would stay here again!"

"Great view, nice location
+ Great and easy communication with Kauai Kahuna during our stay
+ Great starter kit (soap, dishwasher, detergent, ...)
+ Great location (close to Napali coast and nice beaches) - less crowded than south
+ Ocean view from almost every window in unit.
+ Unit offers privacy; balcony and most of the windows face the ocean instead of neighboring units.
- Too much information, emails, app to be downloaded before trip
- Constant background noise, which was not too disturbing, but present nevertheless (might have come from a neighbor’s unbalanced ceiling fan)
- Mostly clean, however, we had a few dead insects on the floor upon arrival and found previous guests’ washed bed sheets in dryer
- Light on outside hallway cannot be turned off completely and illuminates the master bedroom a little at night. Sliding door can be closed but then it natural breeze cannot cool bedroom and it gets too warm
- No salt, sugar, flour etc. available, which is fine and according to the unit’s description. However, in other rentals we often find these things from previous guests and wondered whether it had been removed during cleaning
Overall, a nice stay!"

"Great stay in Princeville
Great location on the north shore. Unobstructed view of the ocean. Comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom accommodations. No air conditioning but with the windows open and the fans provided it was more than comfortable. We enjoyed sunset drinks at the St. Regis Princeville which is close by and over looks stunning Hanalei Bay. We also enjoyed brunch there the last night. We also made light meals and packed picnics many days. The kitchen is fairly well equipped although we could have used a juice pitcher and a baking sheet for the oven. We were supposed to have dishwasher detergent but it wasn’t there when we arrived. We called to rectify the situation and they said the cleaner would bring some over. This never happen so we did dishes the whole week. Not the end of the world. Kauai Kahuna Rentals was great to rent with. Excellent and timely communication at all stages of the rental. I would definitely recommend renting with them and this particular accommodation again. We went all over the island from this location. Be sure to book your shuttle to some north shore attractions we’ll in advance. We did not and weren’t able to get out to Ke’e beach and a couple of other sights we had on our list. So much to do on this island that we’ll be back anyways! "

"Perfect views and ocean sounds
We stayed 9 nights with our adult child and had a perfect stay. The north side of the island is my favorite because it is the beautiful rain forest Hawaii that is unique and special. The accommodations were very nice with just the right amount of space for us. The water pressure in the kitchen sink definitely has to be fixed but everything else was awesome. We appreciated being called to see if we needed anything or had any questions early in our trip! We would definitely go back. "
