The name of the cabin is "A Mountain View Theatre Lodge"...There is absolutely no Mountain Views...only trees that completely obscure any possible views. The pictures in the advertisements are at least 15-20 years old and do not show the new trees that have grown up all around this property to overtake any potential views that may have been there many years ago. The cabin is very old and not well maintained. It was relatively clean for as old as it is. All of the electronics are antiquated and not updated. The check in and check out process was the only thing about this property that I would recommend. Elk Springs Resorts should be ashamed of themselves for offering this property with such old and very misleading description and pictures. I will be doing a similar review on multiple review sites. Stunning betrayal of trust. I feel that I was taken advantage of and robbed. Never would have paid the amount I did if they advertised properly...Hence the reason they don't use updated photos...they know they couldn't sale it then. I didn't like opening the kitchen cabinets because they don't have handles or knobs and they need a good degreasing- felt/looked dirty. Carpet is very worn and furniture in the main room is very used and getting in rough shape. -The windows looking out over the balcony/view were coated with a dirty film and looked like a feeble attempt had been made to clean them which just resulted in dirty streaks. It was a shame because you want to be able to enjoy the view out the windows. -The view off the back deck would be wonderful except a couple of Tulip Poplars have grown up and block the view for the entire middle of the balcony. You have a good spot if you sit right next to the grill or right next to the hot tub, but anywhere else you're just looking at the top of trees. -The porch/balcony could use some side tables so if you're sitting outside, you have a place to set your coffee cup or drinking glass. Right now there are just some old rockers that have seen better days (starting to get wobbly). This cabin sleeps 12 and it was only another person and myself. Upon arrival and inspecting the cabin I noticed a blood stain on the master bedroom cover. Well I bring my own covers, sheets, and pillows so my spouse and I decided to continue the stay and use the items we brought. So after that discovery I cleaned and sanitized the cabin from top to bottom. The next day February 12, 2022 we decided to get into the hot tub. Well as we sat in the hot tub and looked next to us we noticed dog feces next to the hot tub. After noticing the feces I called the desk around 10:30am and the maintenance person (Derrick who was very nice) arrived around 11:30am to remove it. Well he came and removed the feces then cleaned the area with windex. Needless to say after a blood stain and feces we immediately left. Elk Springs Resort has not done anything for my discoveries after several signs stating no pets and a strict pet policy. Had I brought an animal I would have been charged 500.00 at minimal. At this point I have not been offered anything from this resort. Which is shameful! The entire decor needed an update. It is advertised as a luxury cabin and is anything but. I reported all issues via email and was told I should have contacted them during our stay. I didn’t think the majority of the issues could be fixed during our 3 night stay without having a crew of people in the cabin during our stay. If I had not been traveling with my parents that are in their eighties I would have insisted they move us. Unfortunately they were not up for the stress of loading a car and moving. Also, we got this cabin because it had four bedrooms; we needed the space. But everything was so loud. You could hear every movement from each floor. It didn't ruin anyone's sleep, though, thankfully. The TV's and media room were fun. But overall, we were disappointed with the quality of the cabin, especially when compared to our previous stays." Of course, there was no insurance on their end to help with the theft, and they did not offer any type of discount for our stay. We lost around $5000, and I know that it's not the company's fault; however, they did not do anything to make us feel like they cared... other than putting us in another cabin. Once we got to the other cabin (about 1:30am), the stay was fine, but the start of our vacation and the lack of caring from the company put a bad taste in our mouth. Again, something we paid for and couldn't use most of the time!!! *No linens for sofa beds - delivered 2 hrs after notification, so that was good. *No large pots for a rental that size. delivered large pot and skillet within hours of requesting. *Pool table ball pockets all have the strapping to hold up to more than 1 ball broken. Couldn't really use it, since if 2 balls where in a pocket they would fall to the floor. *Windows and Window sills FILTHY. *Large cobwebs over bed in top floor bedroom. *All Mattresses need to be REPLACED!!. They all squeak when you move or sit down on them, and sink in the middle. We were tempted to record what they sound like - but you can check that out yourselves! *There must be no insulation between floors. We could hear quiet words or coughs from each floor to the next. **Every floor squeaks terribly. First night I was unpacking on top floor, and everyone on the middle and bottom floor heard each of my steps. I had to stop and do it in the morning!! ** 1 sofa and 1 chair in main area for a cabin with 4 bedrooms is not enough. Most of the time most of us had to sit at the kitchen table!! Needless to say VERY DISAPPOINTED. You need to remove this rental from your inventory - it stinks!!! A partial refund would be a nice guesture. The only good thing was the view!"
