The views were spectacular and we watched the sunrise 2 mornings in a row and the sunset. We even saw a mama bear with 3 cubs pass thru and watched thru the window. The loft bedroom was awesome with a huge shower and views even from the shower. We cooked almost every meal and had everything we needed for meal prep. Only a couple suggestions we struggled finding places to hang towels, blinds in the lower bedroom with the bunk beds would have been nice and although we were only there 3 nights a small laundry detergent would have been ideal. Beautiful lodge with amazing views. Some tricky roads and inclines on the way up, but worth it in the end. Saw bears in the yard on three different days. Would have given five stars, but we had a few issues during our stay. Biggest disappointment was the pool area. Great design and concept, but the pool was too cold and dirty for us to use. Even though it was summer, the pool was uncomfortablly cold for all of us. And it had some type of brownish-yellow film across the top and some similar marks in different spots. We had already reached out for a refrigerator issue and a projector problem, so we decided to just deal with the pool. On the plus side, the service guys who came out to fix the fridge and projector came quickly and were very pleasant. Sent two emails to share my feedback after returning home and didn't receive a response, which was disappointing. Again, overall great rental and extremely clean. I'd recommend it to others, as I think our issues were just one-offs." The cabin had everything we needed for a cozy stay. The beds were soft, the pillows were heavenly! There were plenty of bath and beach towels of good quality. The view is unbeatable!! The staff was very attentive and promptly answered any questions via text messaging, which is very convenient. We had a toilet flushing issue downstairs, but a friendly maintenance guy came almost instantly and resolved it with ease. I have very few suggestions, but I’ll offer just these: one of the pots really needs to be thrown out. It’s a Teflon disaster, and and we were running out of supplies at the end like toilet paper and garbage bags. I was a little nervous about the black spots all over the stairs. I admit to mold phobia as I have immune compromised kids, but my family thought the stairs just needed scrubbing and refinishing. They did not think it was anything concerning. But for nervous guests like me, it might be good to have that redone. But these are minor in light of the excellent experience. What I appreciated most was the completely unsolicited offer to extend our check out time at no cost! I was blown away at the kind offer, and it really helped out morning feel less stressful and hectic. With the extra time, we were able to clean up more doing a load of towels and sweeping. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone that is interested in getting away from the city and wants to enjoy a view. Our first full day we say 7 bear with in 4 hours. During our stay we went to the aquarium and did some souvenir shopping. Tennessee Homemade Wines is a must is you like wine. When we go on vacation I am always trying to figure out what kind of coffee pot there is and what kind of filters. This place had a keurig and a regular coffee put. So, it was nice to have the option of which one we wanted to use. The view from this cabin is immaculate! The kids of course love the pool and all of the fun amenities on the lower level and it’s nice that the adults can open the garage type door and sit in the fresh air while supervising everything. Perfect for families with younger kids!! Unfortunately, we were evacuated from the cabin by police in the middle of the night one night, due to a nearby brush fire. It was quite scary and we had to drive into town and rent two hotel rooms. I was disappointed to learn that there’s no type of compensation from the management company in a situation like this. There also was no communication as far as what to do and if/when to return to the cabin. I emailed with the company and it sounds like they had their hands full with all of the issues caused by the recent fires. That is understandable, but it’s still very disappointing when you spend so much money to stay somewhere and have an experience like we did. So just beware when renting from Elk Springs that emergent situations will be on the renter to figure out and pay for. All of that aside, the cabin itself is amazing! No complaints there at all! There is only one sleeping space with a door, making it almost impossible for anyone to go to bed/get up at separate times without being disturbed. The master and bunks are both open spaces. The only access to the pool/hot tub is off the game/bunk room rendering them basically useless once someone already asleep in the bunks. Overall, the property is nice and I would stay at another cabin managed by this company but be more cautious with the layout knowing our family needs somewhere that accommodates children with earlier bedtimes and adults who desire privacy and the ability to access amenities that doesn’t disturb others to use them. Called about the hot tub and they sent me a YouTube video to fix it but the YouTube video was for a different hot tub. I was able to Google and find out that the hot tub was in economy mode and how to fix it. Hot tub was good to go after that. On the kitchen table was a used diabetic testing strip. Positive- excellent views! The views are out of this world. Located in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so a fairly short drive to either town. Pool room was kept a decent temp which made swimming enjoyable for the kids. The pool was nice but likely it would have been better in warmer weather. My husband and I loved spending time in the hot tub (more views) but as we were in the hot tub, we could watch our son play in the arcade room. He watched movies, played the arcade and top bunk and we all played air hockey and fuse ball. We could have fit another small family in there but we enjoyed it quite well with just us. I will admit that living so long in Florida. We were not completely prepared for driving up the steep mountains to get there. The couple of things to note that we weren't prepared for - the hike to this place is a bit crazy. Don't do it at night for the first time. The parking will only support 2 cars. While we only had 2, we noted that because the house could sleep several more, a few couples may choose to drive up and only 2 cars can fit in the parking area. The pool area was great - I didn't realize there was a garage door that would open to the incredible view from inside the pool area. There is a sounder booked up to the cable, but it couldn't hook up to our Roku, which meant watching movies wasn't as dynamic an experience as it could have been."
