Everything was clean and we had a starter supply of essentials! The kids loved the pool and theater center! We did have to call maintenance out for the hot tub upon arrival, but they sent someone out quickly to get it fixed! When we arrived one of the toilet arms were broken. We called maintenance and they arrived and had it fixed within the hour. Friendly staff, quick response to concerns. The only negative is that it appeared as though someone prior had used the gas grill with charcoal or something inside. We called maintenance but did not request that they come out as it was near the end of our stay and I'm not sure what they could have done in the moment to fix it. It was unusable and they need a new one. Other than that it was a great stay, nice views, nice neighborhood!" The Cabin was clean and close to all our outings. A few points to make that I wish I knew: There is one road to the cabin that is VERY windy and feels dangerous for those not used to driving these types of conditions. We figured out when you leave the complex, always turn left at the bottom of the driveway and let GPS reroute you. It's a much safer road then turning right and does not take you out of the way but only a minute or so. Bring binoculars for the mountain view to search for bears (wish I had mine). Also, although not altering my rating at all, the mattress on the walk-in level needs to be flipped because is sags in the middle a bit. AND PLEASE add a deadbolt lock to the front door! I know the property is under 24-hour surveillance, but this would make it feel safer as anyone that knows the code can enter at any time. I put a chair in front, but once my family is sleeping, I would have felt much better with an additional lock that you can only open from inside. All in all a great stay! Just some points forward. Seems like they could also spend a dollar or two on more than single ply toilet paper and towels that are of better quality than a Days Inn. Your view from the decks is of other cabins for the most part so the 15 minute drive to anywhere was not worth it since you still had neighbors all around you. Also note, while the check in documents claim there is a noise ordinance for the area there is not. Your close neighbors can party all night long if they want so not very family friendly." It was spacious and the kitchen was equipped with basic pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Our kids were very surprised to be staying in a cabin and having a hot tub and indoor pool was awesome! They also really enjoyed the pool table. I wish there was another bed in the loft area. There was enough room for bunk beds or a second bed so my kids wouldn’t have had to share a bed. The house only had one queen and one king bed for our family of four. There were also no dressers in the cabin, so we had to keep our clothes in the suitcase. We weren’t able to check in until almost 5:30, two and a half hours past check in time. The management company checked in by text multiple times during our stay." It accommodated two adults and two teens nicely. I loved the fact there is a lock door for the pool. As we know all teens are adventurous. We did have a small mishap. I locked the top pool lock, which caused us to be locked out the pool area. Maintenance showed up quickly to remedy the issue. We were extremely happy as we didn't want any sad faces. The kiddos had a blast in the pool area, especially since they can watch a movie and swim at the same time. I however could get some laundry done while they played along. So yes, the laundry room is on the bottom floor. Usually I wash our clothes before traveling back home, however, going down two and half flights of stairs kept only the towels clean. There is construction below this cabin. The noise didn't bother us one bit. Just know they do work Saturdays as well. It was raining Sunday when we left, not sure if they worked or not. The only thing we would recommend is having a privacy shade for the hot tub area. There are cabins on both sides. Each of those cabins have full view of all three levels. I will say everyone minded there business. We have been coming to Gatlinburg for years now. Sometimes two times a year. We would recommend this cabin to others. There was a foil pan with burgers in it left inside the oven. For how long? Who knows. Super gross especially for us who are vegetarian. For what we paid for this it should have been clean. There were spots of sticky goo on the floor like someone spilled something sweet while walking around. The eating table was splattered by ketchup? Or maybe it was spaghetti sauce? Food scraps on the porch. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t cleaned at all. Just the toilet paper replaced and a new trash bag. Even the dishes had to be washed. There was zero plates or silverware or pots/pans. We later discovered they were still in the dishwasher from the previous stay. No extra toilet paper, no towels in the basement bathroom. Only 2 wash cloths for the master bedroom so we did laundry everyday. The hot tub wasn't keeping temp, but the maintenance gentleman was quick to get there and fix it. The construction noise was very disruptive. We also didn't realize we were surrounded by other cabins...our fault for not doing more research. Our daughter loved the pool, but it's small. Inside was very updated not the traditional old school cabin look which I loved! It was clean and had everything we needed including nice tv’s with voice remotes which was really nice. The pool was warm enough to swim for like 10-15min which would probably be perfect in the warmer months. The hot tub was great and hot the whole time I really liked the different colored lights. They did provide a baby gate for my 16 mth old however only 1 and it did not reach from wall to wall so we had to rig up the trash can beside it to make up for the space and chairs in front of the other stairs. The can opener didn’t turn so I had to punch holes in the can all the way around. Maintenance is very polite and professional. Our gas bbq grill was out so they came over fast at 8pm. This particular cabin was close to others, but in a very good spot with a fantastic view. No extra time at checkout is a bummer, but they do have to sanitize everything. Random long hairs on hanging towels main level should have been noticed while cleaning, notified mgmt for improvement. One major issue was everyone left their outside lights on In neighboring cabins and one of the outside lights must have been LED because it shined in your eyes while in hot tub; very agitating. On top of nosy neighbors, hot tub is not private, but view is absolutely amazing. The water pressure sucked so much we could not use the upstairs shower. When we had maintance come out and look at it there was nothing he could really do but he also said our water heater was turned way down so turned that up so we had hot water. We were supposed to have forks, spoons, and knives provided for 4 people, we had 1 of each. There is no wardrobe in the upstairs loft area to hang clothes and only a very small closet in the downstairs bedroom. The pool was a bit smaller than we were expecting, but the pool area is very nice and we enjoyed the hot tub and pool table during our stay as well. We told our four-year-old the past two weeks before the vacation began that he would be able to swim the entire time unfortunately that’s not how things went. Upon arrival the pool temperature was 70° it’s supposed to be 86°. We called and they sent the technician out there to address the situation and he decided a part was needed that had to be ordered and they would call us to let us know if it could be fixed in time before our vacation ended. We couldn’t use the hot tub because it had accidentally been turned off from the cleaning crew per technicians advice, so by the time it heated all the way back up to 102° it was time for us to leave. I should mention we only had a three day vacation. We never received a phone call back to let us know if the part for the pool would be in in time before we left. When asked about a refund they said they would give us 30% back which turns out to be $299 out of $1000 that we paid. We didn’t stay in the cabin the entire time because we didn’t want her for-year-old to break something since he was promised to be able to play in a pool in the pool was not available he was jumping around off the walls bored. When I contacted elk Springs resort to let them know the stress and disappointment they calls from this vacation they told me they would not refund any other money that was as good as we would be given. $700 to sleep in beds very disappointed this is not my first time booking without springs but it will be my last. I don't feel like we got our money's worth at all. There were several things, we had like 5 light bulbs out an the one over the stove. The furnishings of the cabin were scarce, no iron or iron board and I seen on the site it had one, no blow dryer, kitchen had very few dishes. The pool was suppose to be a heated pool yet we froze, there were no heat in the pool room,.how could we be expected to enjoy a movie it was so cold. Stated a theater room, how can you consider that a theater room, with no cable TV to watch. there was no privacy with the hot tub, not even a piece of latice or anything. There was not any laundry detergent to even start one load, the rug under the pool table was bent up on one corner causing myself to trip, we eventually tapped it down our self..just disappointed, 1st time staying with elk springs, not sure if I'll be a return customer, after spending almost $2000 I feel I deserve a couple nights stay for free.. Considering our disappointment. I realize it was 95 over the weekend, but the AC would not cool the upstairs at all. The bedroom downstairs was nice and cool, but upstairs it was 80 plus all day and at night you were lucky to get it down to 75 upstairs. We have a 3 year old who wanted to sleep with us, so sleeping downstairs in the smaller bed was not really an option. Several night we had very little sleep. Last night, we just left at 3 in the AM. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone in the summer with an improved AC unit....but I am sure it would be nice in the winter. The rest of the cabin was great, just the AC ruined every night."
