Quite possibly the perfect 3 bedroom, Breathtaking Views sleeps 10 guests while offering incredible views of the mountains as well as several places to gather, whether its the game room, the great room or your own private home theater room with 10 foot screen! 2 night stay or 2 week stay your cabin is equipped with a full kitchen and all the cookware and appliance you'll need to prepare in cabin meals, including a dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, mixer, toaster and microwave. You'll also have a washer and dryer for extended stays. Spread out in 1 of the 3 suites, 2 with king beds and the other with a queen bed. 3 Full baths adjoins each suite. A sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping for 2 guests (best suited for kids). You won't get bored! Head to the game room for a game of Foosball or pool and then venture into the theater room for an amazing big screen surround sound experience with theater seating. However, the property is dated, frustrated that we were not able to use the home theater since we couldn’t ever get it to connect, difficult to use pool table due to the room size being too small, no green space on the property for the dog to use bathroom, the queen size bed in the game room felt dirty and not a good option for our guest...so they opted for the couch and struggled to sleep due the freezer constantly making noise and the kitchen sink kept dripping, coffee table had damage on corners, the floor from upstairs bathroom to bedroom is in bad shape, and no furniture on the front porch. Overall, we were disappointed compared to the previous property we booked in February (lovvved it) and given it was roughly the same cost. We will not book this property again nor recommend it. The drive up to the cabin is steep with some gnarly potholes so be cautious. But the cabin itself was gorgeous and we were able to bring our little Frenchie with us who had the time of his life there too! We were locked out of our cabin for over 3 hours because check in door code would not work. Maintenance guy was mad when he responded because he had 19 other calls pending and was the only person working. The entire experience had my kids scared and they wanted to go back home. The company refused to refund our money and suggested I dispute the charge with my credit card company as an alternative. We were forced to stay to keep from losing $1000.00. The cabin had several nails sticking up out of the deck floor, extremely dirty carpet and the theater room would not work.I asked several times to be contacted by management, but they refused to call me. I was told they want their operators to handle everything. Very, very disappointed in the entire company and cabins. There was another couple that had no hot water due to a broken water heater and the company refused to move them to another cabin." It had everything we needed for our stay and customer service was exceptional. Had to call in a maintenance issue with the fireplace and they were there and resolved it in 15 minutes. Only concern was the steep drive up to the cabin because it was raining and had leaves all over the road. Had to kick it to get up there; however, the location was close to everything (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and Sevierville). Then it snowed, so glad we bought groceries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a couple of days before going up there. Thanks Elk Mountain for one of the best vacations with my little family. The cabin has not been kept up either. Soon as I walked in smell was terrible. Coffee was all over counter and spilled all down cabinets and on floors. Floors not swept or mop. Stove and utilities not clean stove top was not even cleaned. Utilities had grease and dirt on. Every sink dripping or running constantly. Everything was dirty not dust at all. I started itching soon as I walked in. Bedding was terrible actually u could see thru the old sheets. When I looked closer cobwebs going two feet up the wall 4 inches away from the wall. Kitchen chairs full of dust and dried on food. Kitchen cabinets full of dust. The hot tub didn’t work. Grill was terrible. I was ready to leave as soon as I got there we actually left earlier I would not stay in this filthy place. I spent 318. A night on this place . Terrible the rugs were filthy the carpet going to movie room full of dirt so bad it made a black spot all the way down. I will never stay at Elksprings again. I will go back to the resort I normally stay at. This cabin and grounds was like no one had been keeping them up at all. So unhappy and disappointed I was looking so forward to this trip. When I saw cobwebs that bad it was over for me. Don’t stay here at all. They had their chance to clean and they didn’t . I would give it a 0. Funny how all reviews was 5 stars but not true. The dryer did not work on heat, only low heat. The outside plugs and bathroom plugs were not working, so we found GFI's that needed reset to take care of that ourselves. The LR rug is filthy and one corner rolls up, tripping those coming down the stairs. No cleaning is done to the porches and the cobwebs are heavy and windows are all gross. We have stayed at more that 25 cabins in our travels to this area and this was the worst. The views truly are special and made for some amazing sunrises over the mountains. Size: The 3 bedrooms were nice sized and there was space for our whole family to spread out and relax. Booking: The staff was a dream to work with. I cannot say enough good things about the office staff with Elk Springs. Cons: Water pressure: We lost pressure multiple times. Once while mid-way through my 5 minute shower it totally shut off, still covered in soap I had to wait 10 minutes until water would come out of the showerhead again. It effected showers, filling water bottles, washing clothes and dishes. It was a major issue for us. Customer service: The toaster was only half functional when we arrived. I contacted the staff and they let us know that they would drop off a new one within a few hours. What they failed to tell me was that they would enter the cabin even if we were not there. We had kept our rescue dog home that day who has a history of abuse. I’m not sure what happened while we were gone but she was completely shaken when we got back. Cleanliness: The primary surfaces that we would touch all appeared clean, however there was a layer of dust on all decorative details through the entire house. It just felt like it hadn’t had a deep cleaning in years. We also found multiple pieces of garbage from previous guests left in the theater room upon check in leading us to believe they didn’t clean that room at all. Hot tub: My son ended up with a bacterial skin infection from the hot tub’s lack of cleanliness. He needed to see a doctor and has been dealing with red itchy bumps covering his whole chest and back. Pets: There is no yard or flat surface near this cabin for walking your dog. Across the street is a wooded area that works but you must climb a muddy hill that is about 4-6 feet high. Overall, I would not rent this cabin again. It is spacious and has adjacent parking for 2 vehicles. This is about all we can say regarding positive notes. Our November stay during the covid pandemic would make me think that the cabin would have been "extra" clean, which it was not. I am not a fanatic, but felt it necessary to reclean all the surfaces and bathrooms. The kitchen lights had bulbs that were out, and the sink faucet leaked and dripped. The kitchen was equipped with utensil very basics, but fortunately I brought everything (bring all your paper products and foils, etc.). The most disappointing feature was the downstairs mattress which was virtually unsupported foam; even for one person it was miserable. The hot tub initially looked inviting, but the vapor from the steam smelled moldy and my grown kids only used it for a very short time before deciding it wasn't a good idea to sit in it. The master bedroom is spacious and bed is comfortable. Sadly, an animal was making a nest in the wall behind the master BDR headboard every night beginning at about 3:30am. There was no nudging him away so not sure what they will do to fix that. If we had paid about 1/2 of what we did for this cabin I would judge it as acceptable, but for the price we did pay, I would not revisit or stay in this cabin. The trees are beautiful!" The location was absolutely perfect for the gorgeous views we were treated to; however, we were told on booking there were 2 parking spaces and there was just the one for us when we arrived. A photo had been sent to us when we made the booking and showed space for two. Our second car had to find a parking space on the road just ahead of our cabin. It looked as if space was filled in with foliage since the time the photo we received was taken. It threw us at first, but we were able to make do. The layout was perfect for us. The kids were on the lower deck and enjoyed close proximity to the game room and movie theatre. My elderly parents were on the main floor and were early risers, so they enjoyed close proximity to the coffee pot. My husband and I were on the upper level and really enjoyed reading and playing guitar on the upper balcony. Be aware that the "breathtaking views" are only from the upper balcony and the upper bathroom window. The picnic table in the photo is not there, but each deck had 2 nice rockers and a small side table. View from the living areas are the road and the driveway. The two most negative things were the constant issue of millipedes crawling around everywhere on the lower level--even despite maintenance coming out two days in a row. The maintenance guy was very nice and came out at 11pm our first night, shortly after the children discovered the millipedes and freaked out. He vacuumed up 2 trays' worth of live and dead millipedes and then sprayed. When we called the next day with the same issue, he sprayed with something different. The other negative thing was cleanliness on the exterior--there were excessive cobwebs on all 3 balconies and smudgy, dirty windows. Be prepared for a steep road!" First of all, we brought a group of 7 people, the dining room table that is advertised in the pictures seats 8 I believe, when we got there we were very disappointed that the current dining room table only seats 6, so our whole family could not sit together since there were no additional chairs in the building. Also, the living room only seats 5 comfortably in the two couches. Also hard to have family time with not enough comfortable seating. The lower level is a whole other story.... The lower level smells like dogs, dirt, and mildew. Very damp, we also wondered if there could be fleas down there. ? The futon that was advertised IS NOT USEABLE!! Looks like a dog bed wadded up in the corner. The downstairs queen room bed was dirty and had hair all over the sheets and blankets, which we had to wash before we could sleep on them. Also the down stairs foosball table is broken. I have stayed in a previous Elk Springs Cabin and had no issues. I was unfortunately very disappointed with these issues we ran into. Had to call late in day to get check in info - said they called at 8:30 in morning but I show no missed calls and no voice mails??? The road to the cabin however is not ideal. There is a double curve with an 8 degree incline, then about a 1/4 mile stretch extremely steep with a 16 degree incline. We had a small snow while we were there and we were stuck - there is no way you are going down that 16 degree incline and take two 8 degree inclines on corners without going over the hill - I may be from Texas but was raised in snow and know to do this you need snow removal. Each couple had their own suite and lots of space. One thing I did not read about prior to our arrival was driving conditions. While this may be assumed, if you're going during the winter months do not plan on driving anything that's not 4 wheel. The drive to get to the cabin is extremely steep. We got about 4 inches of snow during our stay and was difficult for even the 4 wheel trucks we brought to leave. A snow plow did come by though which was reassuring." We cooked breakfast every morning and had everything we needed. Our cabin was not inside the resort but we enjoyed the amenities the cabin had to offer. The resort called several times to check on us and to make sure everything was good. That was very nice. We will definitely use Elk Springs Resort again." We had King size pillows with Standard pillow cases to sleep on on two of the beds. We also didn't have any blankets and had to call housekeeping to bring them. The blankets came folded and wrapped in plastic. In the morning when I was making the bed I noticed that there was a urine stain on the blanket which I slept with right near my face! When I stripped the bed to start the laundry there was a blood stain on our mattress pad as well! That part of the rental was very disappointing. I called the office and left a voice message stating what had happened, but never heard back from them. I at least expected a phone call back. If I ever went back I would probably bring my own linens. The rental agent needs to follow up on their housekeeping staff and make sure it is properly taken care of. This kind of thing will lessen the amount of repeat customers." We had 10 month baby with us and it is so difficult to stay when your water condition was on and off. Middle of shower water supply stopped. They tried to fix it and offered us new cabin on our last part of stay which was not practical to change and spend time in shifting.Water was leaking from ceiling downstairs and on floor too.Nice of them to give us 50% refund but vacation was ruined."
