The grounds are gorgeous; nestled in the mountains and secluded, with your own private deck overlooking a waterfall, A fire pit, and a hot tub. A lower deck and a top deck allow you to sit and enjoy the solitude. Then you step inside. Words can't describe! The most minute detail was used in decorating the numerous bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms, right down to the cabinet handles. Kingsize beds in the 3 bedrooms, double beds on the four bunk beds. A large, open kitchen, dining, sitting area allows everyone to interact, whether cooking, eating or watching tv. 3 levels, with a game room, bunk room, and theatre room downstairs provide a place for kids of any age to enjoy. IF you plan on cooking? The kitchen has every single item you would need to prepare any kind of meal. And the cutest dishes ever! There was not one thing we lacked for, from plenty of pillows, blankets, games, several tv's, room for everyone to find a quite place. This cabin is truly one of a kind. It's a quick ride to Gatlinburg (maybe 15 - 20 minutes). A small shopping center is about 10 minutes away with a fabulous grocery store. And yes, a Dollar General is also close by. We truly could not find one thing we were not satisfied with. OH!!! And the cleaning was beyond great! Not one spec of dust, dirt, grime or anything could be found. Everything sparkled!! Everyone from 3 to 69 enjoyed every aspect of it. We can't wait for our next stay. The cabin was clean and spacious. The communication was excellent. We found, for us, that the children did not have an outdoor play space and creek to play in that the pictures had shown. The creek was only a trickle and the surroundings not conducive for kids play. That’s really on us. The pictures were accurate, we just miss interpreted what we saw. It was a very private location. Each room had its own bathroom which was nice. The outdoor table was in pretty bad shape too...pictures also made it look like the creek was right at the house. Not the case very hard to get to it. It would also be nice to have a few more things in the house like an ice cream scoop and a hair dryer. We did not hear any of the neighbors but could occasionally hear the road down below. There was plenty of space for everyone. The beds were all comfortable. It was nice to have ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked however there was not a lot of space to put things you brought from home. The stove top wasn’t the best as we had trouble with one of the burners. The jetted bathtubs overall were a nice bonus but only one of them worked properly. The hot tub was not very warm. The locations was great because it wasn’t super far from everything. It took about 20 minutes or so to reach the main attractions in downtown Gatlinburg. I’ve never had that, even with private one-owner cabins. I was even more impressed when we learned from the maintenance tech how many cabins ES owns. To have that type of one-to-one contact is impressive for the size of the rental company. More about the cabin... like I said, it’s worn down. But still nice. I love how secluded it is being at the very end of the street. We unfortunately did not get to enjoy the outdoor features (firepit and stream side table) as the remnants of Hurricane Ian rolled in after night 1. I imagine enjoying those features would definitely make the overall value for this cabin to par. I don’t know that I’d choose this cabin again, but I will 100% make Elk Springs my first destination when looking for the next trip!" Access was easy and the mountain roads were in great condition, well marked, and easy to navigate. It's well located, about 20 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg and the edge of Pigeon Forge - it really made it easy to enjoy the best of both communities. The property was very clean and very well maintained. The fire pit and hot tub are very nice and we enjoyed both. There is a beautiful additional deck that overlooks a small creek and was a great spot to enjoy coffee in the morning surrounded by nature. We particularly enjoyed that each bathroom has it's own jacuzzi tub and that there was plenty of hot water for everyone. Beds were comfortable and everyone had their own private space to retreat to at the end of the day. There was a lot of bear activity around the cabin. We were very careful not to leave anything outside that could draw interest, but forgot to lock one of the cars one evening and returned home to find the door open and a bottle of Coke exploded inside of the car with obvious bear prints all over the other vehicles. This was our oversight - but we didn't leave any of the cars unlocked after that. During our Thursday-Sunday stay, we saw a bear 3 times from the front porch." We had to call for maintenance several s times and over it was not a good sleeping experience for the amount we paid to stay there. Overall, we were happy. Cabin was nice and accommodated our needs. The issues that we had were housekeeping/maintenance related. The hottub had a decent amount of dirt in the bottom of it. Upper level, main bathroom upstairs had makeup on the mirror and the cobwebs/dust on the vanity lights needed taken care of. The main bedroom had several picture frames face down covered in dust, most lamps and the TV were unplugged. Had to move a dresser to get the TV plugged in. Main level was fine other than the dust & cobwebs and the floor could have been swept a bit better. Stairwell to the lower level had exposed carpet tack strip at the threshold and the 3rd step down had some sort of metal sticking out that took a chunk out of one of our heels. We found a hammer under the sink and tried to beat down the tack strip and whatever the other was. Lower level didn't look like it had been touched by cleaning. Dog food in the theater room, someone's lip gloss, child's toy in one of the bathrooms, used Qtips by the bed, dirt/debris on the floor. Washer smelled of mold and it was in the door seal. The mini fridge was on the back porch with a block of ice in it (I understand it freezing and needing cleared) however, the bathroom where the fridge had been had dirt where it sat that could have been cleaned. Outdoors had a broken chair that we moved over by the storage shed so that no one would use it. The internet was not working while we were there and we lost power for a couple of hours (there was rain in the area). The staff had called to see how things were going the day after we checked in and I told them about some of the cleanliness issues and the stairwell hazards and she was very nice and apologetic and offered to have maintenance come by. When we lost power, I called to report it and the call center was very professional and called me back twice with updates. Overall, we were happy and the cabin did what we needed, it was large enough to accommodate our group. I contacted maintenance 3x and they arrived in timely manner and very pleasant/helpful. We were given wrong code to get into cabin, but staff responded quickly with correct #. The theatre room bed was missing sheets and help arrived within the hour! We also rec’d help with DVD player. On our last day, we needed more water in spa and help arrived within 1/2 hr. I pointed out that all the jets were not working. The biggest issue was that there was no internet! �� per ad. (1 thing I would change—The website shows a stream running down mt. at back of cabin. You cannot get to it and it is not as picturesque as website makes it look. Foliage may be taking over since pic was taken). This was one of the most reasonable cabins I found without a pool! The location was awesome and the house was very nice appearance wise. Unfortunately the trip started out by walking into a house in which the A/C was broken upstairs (which had two of the bedrooms). It was 86 degrees inside and over 90 outside. After calling for service we decided to go out and do some activities. A few hours later I got a text that said the a/c was fixed and sorry for the inconvenience. We came back and it wasn’t fixed. 9pm someone shows up and finally fixes it. This was the starting of finding a series of broken items. At one point they checked in on us and I started to tell them what was going wrong. All that was said was thank you and enjoy. Literally a quick dismissal. At the end of the trip I sent a detailed list of all the issues a d once again it was sorry thanks for the feedback. Needless to say we won’t be back. Out of 4 days the wifi maybe worked only a total of 2 hours and there’s no cell service there! The dvd player in the theater room didn’t work the entire time! The mountains are beay but this is not the place to stay to enjoy! Smoke detector battery was beeping, hot tub was turned off (guests have no access to controls), the home theatre system was missing vital components that rendered it useless. After it was “repaired” it still didn’t work correctly. There were cigarette butts in an ash tray on the deck, candy on the floor in the theatre room, bird poop on the sofa and a lamp in the living room, a mason jar that had a “questionable” smell was left on the dresser in one of the bedrooms, and there was a broken step leading to the hot tub that had not been repaired. On the road leading to the property (which is very dark), light posts were down. The owner should make it clear in the listing that this cabin does not have high-speed internet. There was also no binder or any information about the cabin. There were no candles, batteries, or flashlights. We lost power on Christmas Eve and had no heat, lights, or water (flushing toilets). We completely understand that the weather is out of the control of the management company, but they had ABSOLUTELY NO PLAN IN PLACE to assist guests. They provided no updates despite repeated requests (we had no internet and could not get any information ourselves). We were on the very top of a steep hill that curved and undulated. No one showed up to plow, salt, shovel, or assist us in any way. We had to move trees out of the way that had fallen across the road so we could leave on Christmas Day. This could have been a real opportunity for this company to shine – to bring food, space heaters, WATER so we could flush the toilets, help us with the driveway and roads, but we got no help at all. Overall, it was a disappointment." Jan 08, 2021 - , Indianapolis, IN "Very Nice (and Haunted) Cabin The cabin was very nice and relatively clean upon our arrival. It had the base starter kit as described (soap, towels, linens, etc.). The cabin was easy to find but also secluded and private at the same time. The cabin was the perfect size for my group. The double Queen sized bunk beds were perfect. Although one of the bedrooms upstairs was haunted based on the spooky pictures found within, we had minimal encounters with paranormal activity. It was also kind of cool that I believe we had bears going through the area at night due to the trash being messed with on two separate occasions. Only a bear would be strong enough to push the larger metal trash can receptacle over. The theatre room, pool table, and hot tub were all very nice as well. My only two complaints would be that a used razor was found in one of the showers and that the WiFi did not work. I was informed about the issue with the WiFi prior to arriving, however. One reason why when I got to my cabin it wasn’t clean we had to wait almost an hour from my check in, we supposed to checked in at 3pm that didn’t happen, second the reservation people or whoever was at the office waited until we checked in and said it wasn’t any internet service NOT ONLY THAT THE CABLE AND TV PLUS THE DVD wasn’t working and they said it wasn’t nothing they couldn’t do about the internet service. It was just VERY ANNOYING BECAUSE they couldn’t give me nothing back on my Cabin just for the inconvenience that we had going on my kids couldn’t enjoy themselves because we didn’t have no service to play family games. The cabin was nicely tucked away in its on secluded area! Everyone said their bed was very comfortable, the bed room sizes were perfect. The cabin was able to house us very comfortable. We were able to take advantage of every amenity that came along with the house! The only concern was the portraits in the master bed room over the bed and on the wall. It felt like they were watching, but we understood thats how photos were taken back in old times. Other than that we had an amazing time! Thanks again."
