*** This cabin is located at Legacy Mountain resort which is 10 minutes from Elk Springs Main Property *** You will enjoy spectacular views of the mountains from this 1 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that sleeps 4 guests. It's perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway and has enough room to bring another couple or the kids. The great room included seating for 5 with a loveseat and queen sleeper sofa. The upper level features views of the mountains from you fully equipped kitchen and dining area with 4 dining seats and 2 bar stools. Access to outdoor seasonal community pool, outdoor pavilion, sauna, steam room and fitness center included in your stay. Escape to the lower level and shoot a game of pool, soak int he jacuzzi tub in the en-suite bath with full shower. The king suite included upgraded bedding where you can enjoy a relaxing nights sleep while waking up to views of the mountains. End the day relaxing in your 100 degree hot tub on your covered deck. Free WIFI, washer/dryer and iron and ironing board are included for you convenience. We loved the two person jacuzzi bathtub where we could unwind with a nice bubble bath or salt bath and candles. The cabin itself was simply beautiful and clean and supplied adequately to cook our own meals together. It was stunningly breathtaking to have breakfast by the huge windows overlooking mountains. With so many things we needed to make as major decisions for our family we couldn’t have picked a more better place. It was even nice a Bible happened to be there as well because we had forgotten ours. If there was anything to need improvement I would suggest maybe more 1 more frying pan, the bed was comfortable but it would be nice to have a temper pedic type but it was comfortable. The privacy fence to the jacuzzi was broken due to a storm, one of the reasons i chose that particular property was for the jacuzzi and privacy of it. Not a deal breaker, mother nature does her thing. The appliances were in good shape and everything worked. The kitchen, however, was a bit sparsely supplied with regard to silverware, cups, glasses, and plates. At least there was a dishwasher on hand. The bed was comfortable (more than we expected), the hot tub was relaxing and in good condition, and access to the cabin was easy and not that far from Pigeon Forge (about 15-20 minutes). The only real disappointment for us was that the area was noisier than anticipated based on previous stays in the area. Not from other guests, but from the road traffic between us and the mountains." The cabin was spotless, the express check-in process and keyless entry were ideal and easy. While we never spoke to any staff directly, we did have a call the next morning after we checked in to see if we needed anything. The location was perfect, The VIEW! Absolutely Ah-mazing, the pics don’t even do it justice. The cabin was a short and convenient drive to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for the days we ventured out. But, maybe my favorite day was our last day there. It drizzled rain all day...the sound of the rain, the low lying clouds through the mountains, just so peaceful! We also enjoyed using the new hot tub (which was installed the day we checked in) and the pool table. My only suggestions would be to update the living room furniture, it wasn’t very comfortable and the curtains on the main level which were faded and ripped. I also suggest adding more kitchen items. We had no toaster, measuring cups, etc. the dinnerware and glassware were enough for just the 2 of us, but would be lacking for 4 people which the cabin can sleep. It was windy our 1st night and the rocking chairs on the porch kept rocking so my husband and son said the ghost of Christmas past and present had joined us and when the wind blew hard the plexiglass moved, but nothing broke so the cabin is built for the wind. The check-in and out process was super easy and convenient and I loved the fact that there was paved road all the way up to the cabin. I've stayed in others where it was off-road and was happy this was not even though we drove our suv this time! The cabin is among other cabins (cookie-cutter) so not isolated without neighbor's if you're looking for that. We enjoyed it because it's also fairly close to the main thoroughfare and all the activities and shopping. The cabin was very clean from top to bottom (except one empty beer can that was by the hot tub) so no complaints there. NEGATIVES I had a couple major problems with this particular cabin. 1. The mattress in the bedroom was unacceptable. You could feel every spring and bar. I was shocked that the owner would not put a newer, nicer, comfortable mattress for the guests. This alone would prevent me from ever coming back unless it was replaced with a new mattress that was at least somewhat comfortable. I am not a mattress snob and anything with even a pillow topper or moderate comfort level would have been fine, but I am telling you this mattress was in no way acceptable. Extremely dissatisfied with this. 2. Another problem that would prevent me from coming back to this cabin is the lack of privacy from both balconies. When sitting on the balcony upstairs, the neighbors on the left are in full view - no privacy. The neighbors on the right are blocked by the house which is fine. On the downstairs balcony both neighbors are visible. The neighbors on the right are totally visible. There is a partial wood slat wall that appears to attempt to block the view of the hot tub from the neighbors on that side but it is incomplete and you can see through above and below this slat wall. If I owned this cabin I would totally wall off both sides of both balconies so there is at least some level of privacy. When you escape to a cabin in the woods you don't want to see strangers right next door on both sides. It was extremely uncomfortable. It sagged on one side,one could feel the coils all over whenever you laid on it. Positively awful. This mattress should be replaced a.s.a.p! Hopefully someone else could get a decent night's sleep. I would rate everything a "5" except for that awful mattress." The only difficulty we had was finding the property from the directions we were sent. We finally had to go to a visitors center to get assistance. The directions were way too complicated for someone unfamiliar with the area. After going to the visitors center, we headed out and realized we had left our directions from Elk Springs Resort at the center. We called and left a message with the resort. They called back quite quickly, but we were just driving up to the cabin at that point. We enjoyed driving Cade's Cove and hiking some of the trails in Smoky Mountains National Park. We had beautiful weather throughout our stay, so we were very fortunate. The only other suggestion we would have is to give a brief explanation of how to lock the door when leaving. The cabin was on the side of legacy mountain. The road going up to it was paved, well lit and very wide. When we walked in we immediately were in awe of the beautiful panoramic view of the mountains. The cabin was spotless. It had everything we needed. My teenagers enjoyed the pool table. The hot tub was on the lower deck with a beautiful view of the mountains. We were far enough away from the commercialism of town, but close enough to go to a few dinner shows and get back to our quiet cabin tucked away. We would absolutely go again! I highly recommend it." We are from Florida and truly do not get to see the beauty that is on display in TN. We loved our cabin and all of its amenities. The only issue we had was the mattress on the pull out sofa - very old and no support. That being said, that is all we could complain about. It was spotlessly clean, and the views take your breath away when you enter. It's very spacious for two people, with an upstairs and downstairs bathroom (every women loves her own bathroom!). We enjoyed soaks in the hot tub on the deck every night. After a long day of sight seeing, it was nice to have our own kitchen to fix a meal and relax instead of fighting the crowds at the restaurants. We quickly discovered a way to get from our cabin to the national forest to avoid the heavy traffic in Gatlinburg. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Above the Treetops and can't wait to come back! Only complaint is that it was much further from the Smoky Mountains than we anticipated. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Gatlinburg, and then about another 15 minutes to reach the Smoky's.
