The shower heads weren’t very strong and it would’ve been nice to have a full size washer and dryer, and a Keurig, but other than that it was a nice place. I probably wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re playing at the Ripken Experience because it’s a bit of a drive and not really close to anything (stores, attractions), but if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, definitely a good place to stay. We took our son and a few friends over. Theywanted to stay in a cabin and go to the island, Dollywood etc. I have to say check in and out was so easy. The hot tub was already on and hot. This place was so nice. We got 4 cars in for parking. The theater actually had Ruku so I’m not sure why the listing says blu ray. I was worried and took blu ray discs. Had darts. Pool table. It’s about 15 mins away from everything but most cabins are. The last day there was a baby bear on the back deck and it was so cool. Seen so many bears! I have some bear stories from the cabin but I don’t know if I should say on here. Bears where awesome though! I will also book next cabin through here. We stayed at cowboy way! My biggest complaint is that the cabin can fit up to 10 people but it doesn't have enough things for 10 people. For example, we ran out of toilet paper in the main bathroom (one given 1 roll per bathroom), there were only 8 forks, and we didn't get any sponges to wash dishes. Outside of these small inconveniences, the company was great always checking in on us and gave the perfect amount of information before, during and after our stay." The cabin wasn’t filthy but it was obvious corners of each room and under beds and table were not cleaned. The amount of dust and dead bugs in certain areas revealed it wasn’t cleaned regularly. We were unable to use the hot tub being that it was surrounded with spiders and huge webs. I understand this is nature but we did not expect to find that so close to the hot tub. The grill was not as clean as we expected either. It had green moss along the sides and the mat under was so dirty and full of grease and algae looking material it should have been changed and the grill cleaned in our opinion. The location was perfect, 15 minutes to Gatlinburg and 20 to the Park.We had plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed a few movie nights and the hot tub. The cabin itself was very clean. Everything we saw matched the description 100%. We had two very small issues that were addressed immediately and we didn’t even ask for them to be. If we had one negative it would be the appliances. The stove does not work great and could be updated. Few burners don’t get that hot. The dishwasher could also be upgraded. It doesn’t do a complete clean. You need to wipe down everything and rinse completely. We noticed a few dirty dishes in the cupboard as the week went on. This could have been why. I would also double check the front deadbolt lock. Can be a bit finicky. Overall this place and location was great. We loved it so much. We look forward to a return trip and would recommend Cowboy way / Elk Springs to our friends and family. Management company could care less. Total waste of money and will be pursuing recovery of some of the funds due to false advertising. The cabin was very nice and met all of our needs. The cabin is located in a great area only a 5 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg and about 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge. The french doors were very hard to lock. Had to lift up on the main door to get it to lock. Stove was ancient and pretty much burned everything we tried to cook. Lots of lady bugs throughout the cabin. We like to open windows to get fresh air when warm enough but not many of the windows had screens. The property management was very cordial and checked on us a couple of times because we had snow on the way down and difficulty getting to Gatlinburg because of the snow. Would make a recommendation if some things were improved such as the stove, shower heads, etc. Seems like for the price being charged, these things could be updated. Thank you." On the day of setting out, a bad snow storm came through Tennessee and the power was out @ the cabin. The company called on our day of travel from Maryland to inform us we would not be able to get into the cabin and hopes the power will be in the next day. They were going to refund the first day. Fast forward to next day, still no power at the cabin so the company offered another cabin at the same price. This cabin was beautiful and comfortable. They staff called a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. Their customer service was amazing. We will return and bring family members the next time. On top of that, there was hardly any toilet paper, we ran out on the 3rd day, were there for 5. No hangers, no seasoning to cook like simple salt and pepper, the towels felt like they were from motel 8 all scratchy, and the mountain view is blocked oh and there are ladybugs everywhere and I mean we couldn't use one bathroom because there were hundreds, they were all over the kitchen and in the downstairs bedroom light, we couldn't use the top bunk" Dec 06, 2021 - , West Palm Beach, FL "Honeymoon in Cowboy Way We stayed in Cowboy Way for our honeymoon. Our honeymoon was amazing itself. The layout of the cabin was perfect but we were disappointed in the overall maintenance of the cabin itself. There were 3 beds on the home, a King, Queen, and a queen bunk bed set. We ended up sleeping in the bunk bed set because the other 2 beds were so uncomfortable. We could tell they used the cheapest mattresses. On top of that, the couch in the living room has a bed inside of it and the couch has been used quite a bit it appears that when you sit on it, you are literally melting into the couch. We took pillows from the bedrooms to sit on while we watched tv in the living room. We ended up not using the basement theater room because the theater chairs there weren’t exactly the most comfortable either. That and the Heat really only controlled the main level so the theater room stayed really cold in the basement. Also, the showers were another thing. The loft had a walk in shower, but it was the smallest shower we have ever seen. You couldn’t wash your body without the water instantly washing it off. The main level tub/shower, the water would never get hot, so we shared the tub/shower in the basement. The cabin also felt like it needed some updating/maintenance itself. The bottom left stove burner didn’t work, the place seemed like it could use a better clean especially on the blinds, and for some reason lady bugs were able to come into the cabin from the windows. We had to sweep multiple times because we kept stepping on dead lady bugs all over the floor. We had an amazing time even with all of this happening. We found ways around the issues, but just wished we didn’t have to, especially since all we want on our honeymoon is to relax and not call maintenance to come check things out. We never called about anything because we just wanted to enjoy our time together, but thought you wanted to know. We loved the area and the people at elk springs. It was larger than we needed since there were only two of us and a small dog but we should have made reservations earlier and had a larger selection. This cabin has a theater room which is fantastic. We really enjoyed watching movies on the large screen with surround sound. It was like sitting in a theater. The cabin is in a great location. No view of the mountains but a great view of the woods and felt very private. Now the bad part. There is a carpet under the coffee table in the living room that needs either professionally cleaned or replaced. It is very stained and smells of dog pee. Also the carpet on the steps going to the lower level also needs professionally cleaned. If these things were corrected I would give this cabin the highest rating. We were driving from NJ so had to plan well. when we were just an hour away from the place we got a call that the cabin is not ready because the previous guests forgot to checkout and they were out for the whole day. Now, that raises question on how come we got the text message stating the cabin was ready. Anyways, we were offered a smaller and less expensive cabin as a replacement. Fortunatley, I recalled the replacement cabin from the time when I made the reservations. This was actually a cheaper cabin. So, I asked them for a refund for the price difference that I saw when I booked my original cabin (Hilltop Hideaway). After several calls, they agreed to give me the refund which is yet to come to my bank account. The cabin as such was okay but I wouldn't have paid this price for this cabin. The home theater won;t work for your movies that you carry in your hard drive or neither it will connect to your laptop. There aren't sufficient blankets or comforters in the cabin. When I asked for more they refused. The cabin isn't 5 minutes away from Gatlinburg easily takes 10 to 15 minutes. The front door key lock that was given to me did not work. I had to call them several times to get a fresh key code. Till that happened I was waiting outside with the whole group (including kids). Finally, the cell phone signal is really really bad. If you have to make a call to the front desk then good luck with that. NExt time I would rathr pick a place somewhere on the gatlinburg downtown area. I am quite disappointed with the cabin overall. the checkout was confusing....they ask you to call a number but the automatic ohone machine confuses you whether the checkout happened or not." I paid a high price for a cabin that was not loved, not maintained, and not updated. Our cabin needed new carpet, it was dirty and not as it appeared in the pictures. The furniture was worn, definately not as it appeared in the pictures, the overall condition of the cabin was average. We couldn't use the hot tub on the deck, a hornet nest was just above it. I have no idea who decides when to replace, update, or clean major item in the cabins but someone dropped the ball. I am definately going to add our pictures online and on trip advisor. The cabin was beautiful however there is absolutely no buffer of insulation between the second and third floors. You could hear every creak of wood, even when the upstairs guests turned over in bed. Very disappointed that after two requests prior to our visit, we could not get a Christmas tree for our Christmas stay as we were bringing along a 6 year old grandson. We arrived and found not even a wreath on the front door. All of the other cabins around us were decorated for the holiday. This should be disclosed up front when booking for a Christmas stay. The furniture in the cabin was rather worn, the big screen theater screen was nice accept you can only watch DVD's on it would have been nice to watch regular TV on it or even Blu-Ray. It was also unplugged and took a few minutes to figure out. Don't expect to be able to make calls or text from your cell phone because you don't have cell service. When we checked out we had to wait until we got into town to call because our phones didn't work, the phone in the cabin didn't work either. There isn't a view from the cabin but it's not described that it does. It was very quiet and we didn't expect that being in the resort. Service from Elk Springs was very good. Easy check in and check out.The location is very convenient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge attractions. We would come back to Elk Springs and this cabin again. I think Verizon is the only one that gets any type of coverage. -Despite the quick response from maintenance they were unable to fix any of our issues -there was a large lack of soundproofing for the bedroom on the main floor which allowed you to hear everyone else in the house. The only problems we had with the cabin were the lack of pantry/storage space in the kitchen, no food disposal, and no electric ice maker (all neccesities in a "luxury" cabin. We had to place our food and paper items on the counter as there is no space in cabinets. A storage cabinet needs to be placed under the mirror in the kitchen. We were disappointed that we did not have a mountain view but the woods were pretty. If the lower deck was screened in, then the mosquitoes would not be an issue in the evening as people could sit outside and enjoy the beauty. Thank you!"
