We can trek they did some updating but the cabin could still use a little more work. The floors are warped and you can feel the rise and sink in the floor as you walk. We do wish the patio table was still on the kitchen level balcony because that's really where we spent a lot of time during our first visit. One thing to be aware of is the walls are very very thin so you hear everything no matter what level you're on. The fridge needs to be replaced and the kitchen cabinets could stand to be fixed as well. Overall we enjoyed Heavenly Heights the 1st & 2nd time we stayed and would totally recommend it to future guest. Kitchen big enough for lots to help! Drawbacks... we couldn’t temperature regulate the downstairs. It was ICE cold. The cookware was very old and worn and not clean (bring your own non stick skillets and pots would be my suggestion). Maintenance was very quick to come out when projector wasn’t working, but they were rude. Would recommend and would stay here again. The home was perfect in size and provided plenty of space for seating at meals, relaxation, beds, and bathrooms. There could have been more seating on the lower deck, but the upper deck had plenty. The house was clean and prepared upon arrival. We did have multiple maintenance issues arise during our visit. The rental company was fast and thorough in their response, but it was disappointing to have multiple issues arise. I would say that we didn't feel that it was "luxury"...the cabin bathrooms and kitchen need to be updated and the sheets and towels were not luxurious at all. The kitchen required the dishwasher to be replaced while we were there, the microwave sounded horrible, and the stovetop was cracked. There were no soup spoons or teaspoons, only large serving spoons. The grill is tiny for a home that holds so many people. We did use most of the amenities...the hot tub, fire pit, theater, and pool table were big hits!! (Note, there was no chalk for the pool cues.) The living room furniture was very comfortable, as was the upper deck furniture. No one used the spa tubs indoors. For future travelers: there are two - one in a floor 2 bedroom and one in the bunk room in the basement (which we found odd since that was the "kid" room.) The driveway is plenty big enough for multiple vehicles. I would note that there are no railings for the internal steps going up to the two upper bedrooms or down to the two lower bedrooms, game room/theater, and hot tub. This did pose difficulty for those with mobility challenges (which was not our entire party, but something to note for future guests). Overall, I would absolutely recommend Elk Springs because they were so easy to work with every step of the way, from reservations to check out and everything in between. Having the 5 bedroom/5 bath was very nice, along with 2 common areas, there was enough space to share or have alone time. We did the normal thing and ran through it real quick to explore like I'm sure everyone does and we noticed a few things. The bath tub was dirty in one of the upstairs rooms. The breaker tripped in the first hour or so of us being there. The freezer door handle was barely hanging on by the bottom screw. The same refrigerator had a problem cooling and would freeze constantly. The central A/C unit would freeze over (couldn't put it below 70° anyway because it was programmed that way). The lamp shade was torn in the living room. The pool table felt was old and the bumpers on there were rock hard. The floor isn't as level as you'd like it and that's everywhere in the cabin. The cover for the light in the game room fell off while we were playing pool. The MASSIVE amount of lady bugs that made it through our room which was the only one that was infested with them. The wifi was terrible. It connected but the download and upload speed were literally zero. Reception is not good if you're with Verizon. T-mobile had a little bit. After all that "bad" stuff, the good was really good. There was enough space for whatever we needed. All the furniture was very comfortable. Plenty of silverware and a keurig was there was well. The view was just as awesome as our first time around and we could do nothing but sit outside and love every second of it. The people are always there when you need them and come out to help as soon as they can. Even though we had minor inconveniences, this won't deter me from booking with them again. The fact that no one was ugly about any problem we ever had, they made sure to fix it immediately. They are always top notch people and the whole process of booking with them is everything you could ask for." The cabin was in good order, but you can tell it has had a lot of stays and is beginning to show a little wear. The cabin is spacious and also beautiful. However, we arrived to find fruit flies all over the kitchen. There were hundreds and crawling all over the cupboards, countertops, and sink. We started to Re clean the kitchen. Wiped everything down. Couldn’t find the source until the next morning when we took the garbage out. Both garbage bottoms had juice and beer pooled and again the fruit flies. It was disgusting. I called the main office and they offered to send maintenance but we had plans and we figured out the source. Next we were grilling on their grill in a foil pan with potatoes. A full on fire got started from a layer of grease on the Uncleaned grill. It was dangerous. Again we called the main office and explained. Which they did nothing except ask if the fire was out. Next the ice maker tubing was leaking. All over the inside of the refrigerator and into our food and the door wouldn’t stay shut. We had to push it closed and lean on it and hope it would stay shut. We bought steaks that went bad because the door popped open. Overall, the actual cabin is beautiful!!! It needs some updating and better cleaning. The view is breathtaking. The office staff polite but not necessarily overly helpful. They did come get the trash when called. Check in and out was easy. Six older adults and four young adults in our group and we could’ve fit more because there are 2 sleep sofas. It was great doing the check-in/check-out without the need to visit an office. The layout of the house was great, but the outside deck/view was fabulous. Never a shortage on Mama Bear and her cubs; she was in our yard daily, sometimes more than once. I would not let young kids or dogs play in the yard without an adult present. At night we set up our Bluetooth alarms around our motorcycles, but they never went off. And remember to NEVER leave food in your unlocked or locked vehicle. We especially loved the location of the chalet/house. It’s more secluded and we didn’t feel like we were in a neighborhood setting. It was also an easy feat to get in and out of Gatlinburg without suffering the traffic. When driving down there, at the bottom of the hill swing a right instead of following traffic into town and then look for the parking lot on the left. Very simple. I would definitely rent this chalet again." The cabin itself is nice and spacious with plenty of room for our large family to spread out and be comfortable. The beds were also nice which is something that you always worry about when traveling. We rented this cabin to be closer to our wedding location in the National Park and decided during the stay that we will be planning an extended weekend trip to this cabin every couple of years due to how much we all enjoyed the stay. The property management company also in my opinion was the best in our experience from pre-arrival communication to check out day communication. Extremely prompt responses to any questions we had and also very helpful with needed information like how to work the TV room projector screen and what not! They were proactive in sending out communication like that so we already had it when needed which was very nice! I will wrap up this review by saying again that the cabin has plenty of room not just inside but also ample parking outside for several vehicles if multiple cars are going to be arriving which was our case. If you are looking for a true location for the best VIEWS and most amazing relaxation then book this cabin. We had a bear visit us the first day of arrival and a family of bears visit us on Day 3 of our stay. No damage to any of our vehicles took place and you can tell they are used to walking around freely throughout the cabin yards. The views from the home are breathtaking, the home is clean and comfortable. A family of bears made almost a daily visit so be sure to keep your car doors locked! There is internet but it’s the old style that is basically like not having internet so I had to use my phone as a hotspot to get some work done. The cabin was beautiful and for the most part well maintained. There is some work needed for sure,as most of the bedroom and bathroom doors do not lock and the carpet downstairs is looking pretty gross. The worst part was the DSL internet and wifi was nonexistent!! When contacting elks Spring they were not very accommodating and I had to ask multiple times for them to come out. They knew it was a problem and NOTHING could be done. My husband needed to do light work and their site and in -cabin papers all said wifi or High speed internet. Just be cautious bc cell service was spotty and internet was not available. This also caused us not to be able to use the movie projector as we couldn't stream. Also, use caution if you are not use to mountainous roads as the road up is super small with so many blind curves. They are an amazing company, and are there to take care of anything you need. The cabin (heavenly heights) is absolutely beautiful. We loved everything about it. The view is amazing, and it’s so nice and private, so your view is not obstructed by other cabins around you. It’s about 30 minutes from pigeon forge and 15-20 minutes from Gatlinburg, but the view is well worth a few minutes extra of drive time. We will be staying here again soon!! Some things that need improvement would include lighting (there were multiple lightbulbs that were out or flickering), the home needs more attention to general cleaning specifically dusting/indoor spider webs, there’s an outlet in the kitchen which was not covered adequately (a definite hazard for children), and the carpet in the stairwell needs replacing. Having a fence along the tree line in the back yard would allow more of a secure feeling when using the outside fire pit. Property definitely needs some touch up. The views were wonderful and the location of the cabin was good - not too far from attractions, but far enough to have good views and plenty of wildlife to enjoy! We saw multiple bears, hawks, woodpeckers, lizards, and mice (some of us weren't so excited about that last one being in the cabin!). We had some minor maintenance issues, but customer service got someone out right away and fixed the issues. The HDMI cable has to be manually moved between the DVD player and cable box in the theater room, but not a big deal once you know what to do. One thing the pictures didn't show was the HUGE closets!!! This was wonderful as a couple of us had babies and it was nice for them to have their own little room :) The cabin is very spacious and clean. The basement stayed cold and the loft stayed hot, but that's typical of multi level homes. The only thing we didn't love was the carpet seemed old and maybe had a funky smell in some places. Also, the fire pit looks nothing like the pictures - no rocks or logs to sit on. But we didn't miss it too much since we saw a big bear at the fire pit the first night and decided to avoid hanging out down there. We also loved how spacious it was, and the game room was great for the kids (and adults). There are a couple of things that should be addressed, however. Some of the chairs are broken in places and should be repaired or replaced. The rugs in the kitchen and bathrooms need to be cleaned or replaced- as well as the bedding. The sheets themselves were clean, but the bedspreads need some attention. Also the washer and dryer were not properly working; it would take forever for towels to get cleaned and dried. We figured out it was a problem with the spin cycle, and the vent pipe on the dryer should be inspected. There was also an issue with the water cutting off at one point, but the issue was resolved in a timely manner. We greatly appreciate that. The management office was easy to reach and quickly responsive. Overall, the stay was great, and we enjoyed being there. My teenage boys had a hard time sleeping on bunk beds, so they found a good place for them to sleep on the sofas. During holidays, Ober Mountain has gigantic traffic, so we just drove for and hour and 10 minutes to Catalooche, where we freely skied. When we entered the cabin, it was beautiful as expected with amazing views. However, the hot tub was not heated due to cleaners being behind, so we had to wait for 7+ hours for it to reach appropriate temperature. This is such a beautiful cabin. Little things could be done to really enhance the stay and make it more valuable. Such as replacing burnt out light bulbs (there were 6 or 7 different burnt out light bulbs all over the house), replacing air filters - we were all so stuffed up and we looked at the filters and noticed they were black and must have not been changed in a long time. The cabin was not very clean, bathroom/toilet are could use a lot more detail. Some more dusting could be done as well. I think a mere surface clean was performed. There were 3 families back to back in the cabin right before our stay. I think the resort needs to allot for proper cleaning/disinfecting time between stays. I am sorry to leave a seemingly negative review, but this cabin was so beautiful and if more time was devoted to the up keeping, it would not disappoint whatsoever. There was also plenty of seating for all of us, which isn’t the case in some cabins. The beds, reclining sofas, and other furniture were in excellent condition and very comfortable. We absolutely loved the magnificent mountain views and relaxing, peaceful time on the main deck with rockers, swing, nice picnic table (and a hot tub below). Even our six young grandchildren (ages 1.5 to 9) enjoyed hours playing on the main deck. There were only a few minor things that could be upgraded or fixed, but it didn't in any way affect our love for this cabin. When we did call property management, they were friendly and responded within an hour or two. It should be noted that the lower bedroom level is cooler than the other two levels. And the pool table is in the theater room, not in a separate room as a few pictures indicate. Also, one evening a black bear came for a visit soon after our grilled steaks were taken indoors, adding a bit of excitement for the family! :) It was sad to leave for home, but we have the hope of returning some day. We do highly recommend Heavenly Heights to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet, almost-secluded cabin with an awesome, amazing view of the Smokies! It would have been nice to have information that WIFI might be spotty, since some of use were having a working vacation, and this created some problems. I also think new towels might help, or tell people to bring there own (we did bring some) they were supppsed to be "white" and several had brown stains or you could tell someone' used them to take makeup off. The views were wonderful. Hot tub was older but worked well. I did have concerns that one corner/side was missing on the hot tub. You could see inside and had some visible rusty nails exposed. Maintenance arrived and cleared the a/c units and ordered a new refrigerator that was delivered later that evening...problem solved right? Nope-that fridge did not get cold and when we notified "Jeremy" the next day he put the blame on us, was rude and disrespectful, flat out telling us it was our fault for loading it or opening it? After, another 24 hours when it still wasn't working they sent out another one and the appliance guys confirmed that it was not anything we had done. We lost hundreds of dollars in food, we were forced to eat meals elsewhere costing us additional hundreds (party of 12). The only response to our situation was basically "stuff happens." Really? The downstairs "play room" left a little to be desired though. The pool table was not level, the foosball table had shutes and corners missing and the theater ended up requiring unplugging a cable from the satellite and plugging it in to the blue-ray and then turning down the sound on the projector in order to watch a movie (directions for use would have been nice) but once we got it working it was a great set-up. Also, the thermostats were not very self-explanatory and a set of directions for their use would have been helpful as well. It took a little trial and error, but once we got everything working we had a great time in Gatlinburg and the house was amazing! We had a great white water rafting trip with SMO and some awesome moonshine tastings!" The size of the house was perfect for our entire family. One of the things that attracted our family to this cabin was the outdoor space, particularly the firepit. We were able to start a fire in the pit; however, we had to enjoy it from the deck due to a momma bear and her 3 cubs also enjoying the fire. Once in a lifetime experience to watch bear cubs playing in your backyard. The only negatives for the cabin was that it was not clean and the home and furnishings are not well maintained, with some chairs on the deck literally falling apart. We had to purchase cleaning products to get the home comfortable to stay in for the week." For a recap. paper/trash littered the mountain side, two damaged kitchen chairs, light bulbs out, fools ball table piece broken, missing or damages window shades, no wine opener, electric can opener broken, rockers had multiple loose pieces, a fly problem on the lower level (killed about 2 dozen), tear on the pool table cover, loose toilet seat plus one handle did not operate properly when flushed, the multiple controllers made it difficult to operate the TV'S, finally the mattresses need to be replaced and the carpet has seen better days."
