You'll be in the modern yet rustic cabin inside and be able to enjoy views of the nature outside. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area is perfect for preparing and enjoying in cabin meals. This is the cabin that my wife stayed in our very first trip to Gatlinburg And where I proposed to her. This time we were extremely disappointed. The bed, mattress and sheets in the master bed room all need to be replaced. First let’s talk about the bed. I can see where the frame on the bed has been repaired and it squeak every time you get into and out of the bed. This is quite annoying and made difficult to get a good night sleep. It was so bad that we actually stayed the last night in the guest bedroom. The mattress has a dip in the middle it was almost like sleeping in a taco. It was absolutely horrible. My back is still trying to recover. The sheets were stiff as board. I don’t know what thread count they are but it was like sleeping in cardboard. They were also starting to get little lint balls on them which is sign that they need to be replaced. If I could make a few suggestions, I would like for you remove some of the posters on the wall that tells me if anything happens while I’m staying that I’m going to charged. We were so worried about being charged for damages that we didn’t want spend a lot of time in the cabin. I would also up grade the decorations. Since it’s Xmas season it would been really nice to see some seasonal decorations. I would also suggest that you upgrade the tvs in the cabin. Overall, it’s just time make some upgrades to the cabin. Quick drive to downtown Gatlinburg, and easy drive to Pigeon Forge. The fall foliage around the cabin is amazing! The cabin overall is in good shape. Does need a better dusting! AC unit, stairway, windowsills had noticeable accumulated dust. Only had the basics/minimum pots and pans. No storage containers. We stored leftovers in our own zip loc baggies. No big deal, but compared to other Elk Springs cabins, this one is lacking in "the little things" that make a big difference. Floors on lower level creak whenever you walk across them...quite loudly... not a problem, just be aware so you aren't startled awake in the middle of the night! It made for a great atmosphere around Halloween time! Property management is wonderful! They informed us as soon as our cabin was available, made sure there were no problems with check in. We noticed the upstairs pilot light for the fireplace was out on arrival and they had someone there to fix that in a very timely manner! Would stay here again and just bring some kitchen things from home, or buy them at the Dollar store and donate them to the cabin. Unfortunately our vacation rental wasn’t what we were hoping for. We rented it for a family fun time. We were really excited about the foosball table and the pool table. Unfortunately, the foosball table was broken. Then to play billiards, you couldn’t really play correctly because the table was too close to the window and you would constantly hit the window. These were two items we were looking forward to actually have time to play. Then in the master bedroom there was no chest of drawers to put our clothes in. Then in the second bedroom, in order to actually get to the chest of drawers, you hit your head on the shelf that holds the television. Our view off the deck was kind of a let down, too. We liked the Elk Springs resort and will likely stay there again, but will probably choose a different cabin." The cabin was not very clean it was rushed through so we cleaned it up! Then we wanted to use jacuzzi most of the reason why I loved mountain glory and all kinds of black junk came out of the jets! Well we called the office and they said we can put bleach in and clean it! So we head out to get some & in the meantime they call me when we were at the store & said they took care of it! We go back to the cabin after they were there for maybe 15 minutes & in our cabin when we weren’t there!!! I tried the jacuzzi again and it was the same thing black junk everywhere! I ended up going and getting bleach! Left it soak overnight and drained cleaned the tube and it was fine! Lost 3 days of use over that!! Nobody wants to go on vacation and arrive to a dirty place! The beds in the masters were shot I mean a sag in the middle of the beds! We could barely get out of it! I wrote a 5 star review my first stay! This is far from that! I also had to try and level the pool table! I wasn’t going to even write a review but they wanted one so there it is!! If we come back next year we will be looking at other cabins to rent!" I hadn't checked the inside of the kitchen cabinets and drawers prior to this but they were nasty also with dead bugs and roaches. We called elk springs and the next day they sent someone to exterminate and clean but wasn't a very good job at cleaning. The next afternoon I was sitting on the couch and felt something on my thigh and stood up and a roach I guess from in the couch fell off my leg. The cabin looked dated and not well maintained or decorated...had old furniture in it. The best thing about the cabin was the rain shower!!!! Rainfall shower head was clogged in most of the holes which needs to be cleaned. There is no view, just a bunch of trees. If you want privacy this is a good spot though, but only in summer months. Check in process was easy, no issues there. The location is not far from Gatlinburg, but a little too far out for my preference. My biggest issue is just cleanliness. The master bedroom/bath is very crowded and needs more space as well. I will definitely be looking for another cabin company for my stay next year. Our only complaint was that there was no place to store our clothes in the master. Just a small closet. Would love to see a dresser or chest. It was hard to live out of a suit case for several days. Also lacked storage space for bathroom necessities like hair dryers, makeup, etc. The mattress in the master could also use a refresher. Other than that it was a great place! Furniture was filthy, carpet on stairs and rugs upstairs and downstairs were so dirty. The rugs and stairs had not been vacuumed let alone cleaned probably ever. Bedding in both bedrooms was so old and faded. I washed the sheets and towels before we would even use them. Light bulbs were out almost in every room! Big beautiful shower but full of MOLD! Kitchen cabinets were sticky and filthy! Pans in the kitchen had broken handles. Refrigerator downstairs you couldn't even use because it had never been defrosted door was frozen shut. Balcony had rockers with broken seats you couldn't even sit out there. I would of thought with Covid these cabins would be sanitized and extra clean when we arrived but obviously they were not. Thank goodness I took my own cleaning supplies and wiped down and cleaned everything just to make up feel comfortable there. I'll start with the cons first, because there are only a few...there is absolutely no storage for your clothes in the master bedroom. Not one drawer or dresser and there were only 2 hangers in the closet so we had to live out of our suitcases. The furniture has some wear and tear particularly in the bedrooms. The bedding in the master bedroom was very old and in desperate need of replacing. I am not a germaphobe at all and I was not comfortable with the comforter on the bed. Otherwise, it was very clean and comfortable. The view was very pretty and the kids enjoyed playing pool and foosball. The kitchen was well equipped. The resort management was very helpful and called to check on you and replied promptly if you had any questions. This cabin is located about 20-30 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Check in and check out were very easy, with the property managers simply texting me the door code. The cabin is relatively private (can see a few other cabins off through the trees) with a nice, if not dramatic, view of the woods from the back porch. We enjoyed shopping in Gatlinburg, horseback riding at Sugarlands stables and an ATV ride in Pigeon Forge all within a 30 minute drive. Several nice restaurants and a grocery store are only 10 minutes or so away. The property is a little more "worn" than the photos suggest, and there were a few minor maintenance issues. One of the large widows was fogged from a broken seal, one toilet kept running, the gas grill was not fully functioning and we ran out of hot water filling the jacuzzi. Management was very responsive to fixing the last two items though. Given the cost of the rental, we were a little disappointed in some of the basics provided (or not provided). The kitchen is nice, but has minimal utensils, cookware, etc. For example there was no broiler pan (the only reason we looked was the gas grill not functioning). There are NO food staples (sugar, etc.) so bring everything you need to cook. There is no housekeeping, so the expectation is that guests will wash their own towels, but no laundry soap was provided. Toilet paper provided was obviously the cheapest available. At this price point we expected more. Overall it was a great stay but don't expect many "extras"." Rude is an understatement. I had kept the place clean washed the towels, had felt at home just a series of bad luck since it was so cold, that was until she decided to overly rude. Then when I talked to the property owner I'm told he knew nothing about these issues, he wasn't calling me a liar but after 1000 of reservation he had no knowledge of this. The only bathrooms were down on the bottom level. You could not watch 2 different T.V. shows (upstairs & down) because of the noise level. We did not use the Hot Tub because of the weather but still had to pay the additional $45.cleaning fee. The surroundings were very pretty but this cabin did not fit us at all.
