It was a perfect week for hiking, local shopping, sightseeing, and being together in Serenity Lodge. The lodge is set up for many entertainment areas, along with relaxing porches with rockers." The jack and Jill bathroom toilet door was a little to close to the toilet for our liking but it worked. They had a pool table, air hockey and a video game machine. The wrap around porch was great and the rocking chairs were a hit. We thought we would have a view of the mountains but all we saw were trees. A few of our group used the hot tub but the weather that time of year was just to hot and humid for most of us to get in. Customer service was very responsive and helpful. If you are arriving after dark the names on the cottages should be highlighted with lights to make finding your home easier. Over all the cabin was great for out 8 adults and child. . Both places were just as you see in the pictures on the website maybe even better. They were awesome, clean and in a quiet location but not far from all sorts of activities. Serenity Lodge was so spacious with lots of additions like the rec room, hot tub, and cinema area. All the bedrooms were wonderful with queen or larger beds. The place was just beautiful. I would certainly recommend the Serenity Lodge to any family or group. The Customer Service was the best and they made sure we were taken care of. We all had the sniffles and were sneezing every time we came back to the cabin from going out for the day, same thing for overnights, we all would wake up with allergies the next morning. I have videos of the filth, in case Airbnb wants to review, you can tell it’s old dust and grime. The air hockey table would not turn on, I texted the host to get a repair man to come and fix it. The appointment was set for him to arrive at 9:30am the next morning but, he did not make it until 1:30pm, making us lose a day of activities we had planned. He was able to get it to turn on but it did not ever work properly as no air came out to make the puck glide. The host left only one trash bag for the 6 day stay, with 12 people. We had to go out and buy trash bags, same thing with the toilet paper. We’d place the trash outside in the respective bins, and no one ever came to empty them out. The property is very far from town, 20 minutes through the narrow street in the mountain. Make sure you get everything you need for your stay because you will not want to go into town for something you forgot. We would leave in the morning and come back at around 9-10pm due to the long distance to town. The one positive thing I can say is, at least they were responsive, every time I texted, and were never rude, that I could notice. Not a very good experience at all. Trash under bed. We were unable to use hot tub due to not being cleaned properly , it smelled sour and had white film. Ceiling leaking in several places. PICKETS loose and push away from railing on third deck where hot tub is , very hazardous. The kitchen is not very well stocked. For the amount of money guests pay, these things should not be an issue. We stay every year in different cabins and I have never had these amount of problems. All the decorations sitting throughout house very dusty, artificial plants look like they are growing hair from all the accumulated dust. Furniture is very worn , seating in great room and beds uncomfortable and squeaky. The porches need to be pressure washed, a lot of dust and spider webs. All bedding is old and discolored. House not well stocked, two towels for each bathroom, no extras. Linen closet is bare. Shower curtains in bathrooms with mildew, need replacements. Again the location is beautiful, but I definitely would not rent this one again. We were visiting as a family and rented this house, one of many rented by our family on this resort. There were no pics of the bathrooms or washer & dryer on the website, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The bathrooms were ok, just a bit tight. There’s a stackable washer/dryer. The 1st day I thought there was a leak under the kitchen sink because there were plastic bags just thrown under it that were wet. So I called maintenance & the came out right away. No leak. The biggest issue we had was the fridge. Ice dispenser wasn’t working & it started making a loud noise. So I called maintenance & they fixed the noise. Then like the next night, there was a drip in the downstairs bedroom so I called maintenance about 1:30 am. They didn't get back with me until around 9:00 & said someone would be there close to 1:24. We waited an hour, but we had to leave. They came out while we were gone & said they didn’t find anything. Anyway, it leaked again that night, which was our last night. Although the cabin is older, it has potential and could still provide a comparative stay as some of the newer cabins with a few updates and improvements. The dishwasher needs repair, the kitchen amenities need an upgrade to allow for more supplies where most guests will be spending their time, the decor is out-dated in the living room, and there is minimal lamp lighting. (There was only 1 kitchen towel for the entire stay, there wasn't a Keurig machine, limited cooking supplies, etc). Guests should not have to pack these supplies when spending that amount of money, especially when other cabins are equipped with everything guests need. It was clear that the owners or company have cut expenses, while a few inexpensive upgrades could secure a repeat reservation. There was no other accommodation offered. The property was wonderful (and clean) when we arrived. The space was enjoyed by our whole family (ages 78-2 years old). The view at this property was not the best (mostly forest area) but we took a stroll around the resort area and we were able to get some pretty great views and pictures. From the third floor bedroom at night, we heard a lot of critters scurrying on the rooftop (and it seems like the walls). It kept a few of my family members awake. The kitchen was well equiped with most of what my family needed (minus a baking sheet) but there were a few dirty dishes in the cabinet that we found when cooking. The spa water had a bad smell and needs to be changed. A chair in the media room a completely broken and needs to be replaced/changed. The dishwasher is a little rickety and needs fixing. The furniture in the living room needs an overhaul. The pullout mattress needs to be replaced - it is completely unusable and does reduce the 'to sleep' count of the cabin."
