I think the separate tubs in the other bathrooms should go and the owner consider adding larger showers. There was a soiled pillowcase on my son's bed. When we looked down over the deck, there was so much garbage. markers, cans, old toys, etc. The deck needed to be cleaned up. To be marketed as the view, the last thing you want to see is garbage. The pool table was fun, but some sticks needed to be replaced; some didn't have a tip at the end. The movie room allowed only streaming from Netflix or a Firestick, no streaming from our phones, etc. Very limited there. It was a better option than a hotel, but I'm not sure we would stay there again. It was a shame we didn't have a couch to accommodate our family. We loved the spacious cabin and a member of the team called to check on us which was thoughtful. But the description taken from the website was not accurate: "The name speaks for itself! Enjoy breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains from the great room and deck from this special cabin rental!" and "Arguably the best 3 bedroom cabin view in the resort". I choose a cabin based on several things, one being the view of the mountains. There is a tiny peak of one mountain top while sitting on one rocking chair on the deck but other than that, the view was all trees. Please consider changing the name of the cabin or change the description. We have stayed in three other Elk Springs cabins and they all had better views of the mountains than The View did. A couple other things to note: the grill needs replaced or cleaned, we did not use it. The deck needs a good cleaning. The main floor bedroom mattress needs replaced. Let me start off by saying, "Wow". The cabin was beautiful and the location was excellent. Even with on-site construction nearby, it was a very welcomed and peaceful stay. This was our second stay at ESR properties and it won't be our last. Overall, the cabin itself was almost perfect. There were some minor missed cleaning issues (food on the kitchen floor, food stuck in the spacer area of the kitchen table, hair in the shower and loose Cheetos at the edge of the heart shaped bathtub). We always clean and disinfect when we first arrive so it wasn't a deal breaker for us. The rest of the cabin was extremely clean so it was easy to look past a few small issues. The bedrooms were large and extremely nice. The gaming area was fun and had plenty of options. There was no pool cue chalk or brush to clean the pool table, but again, no deal breaker. The theater room was larger than expected and really nice. The deck, hot tub and view didn't disappoint. The kitchen was well stocked and of adequate size. The living room was large and cozy. Again, we were extremely pleased despite a few, minor issues. I would definitely recommend the cabin and Elk Springs Resort properties to anyone. Thank you, ESR. We had a blast!" It is not "up to par" as Elk Springs rentals have been in the past for us. Upon arrival, the bedding had hair in each bed. The cabin was dirty in general. The mattress pads need replaced. The carpets and floors need to be thoroughly cleaned. We had our first 2 nights interrupted with plumbing problems, which happen with any older home or cabin. The maintenance did come and fix it promptly and were very nice. We were told the kids could ride bikes in the cul-de-sac but the road is graveled due to construction. We really wanted a view of the mountains (according to your description) but the tree growth impeded the view from The View. Had the cabin felt clean, our satisfaction would have been much higher. I recommend shutting the cabin for a thorough deep cleaning including under the beds and in the dining table crack. The ice maker does not work either. Enough for now. Management was easy to get in touch with and super responsive. Our first day the cabin was a bit hot, so we were concerned the a/c might not be working properly. It was spacious and comfortable for our group of 6. Love that all 3 bedrooms have a private bathroom attached. Love the Queen Bunkbeds for my 2 tall Teen Boys. All beds were very comfortable. The views from the deck included a small Mountain View and a view of the woods. Some of the trees could be cut some to make the Mountain View larger. Overall, the 2 views were beautiful and relaxing. We did not use the hot tub on the deck. My boys loved the pool table, arcade game, and air hockey table. Every extra minute they had, they were using them. Not all of the air blows on the air hockey table, but you can still play it. It was storming one day, so we popped popcorn and watched a movie we brought in the theater room. This was awesome. The location is great. It is close enough to the parkway, but far enough out for peace and quiet. It is only a short drive to a Food City grocery store also. Loved the check in/out process. We received a text message when the cabin was ready with the door lock code. We received a reminder the day before check out and sent a text to inform we had left the cabin. We did not have to go to a main location to check in or check out. The management company called on the second day to check on us and sent a text another day to make sure everything was good. I had to do a little work from the cabin - the wi-fi was more than good enough for that, although I didn't check video conferencing or streaming. I really enjoyed the arcade game, made good use of the jetted tub, and the hot tub. It's a nice community, although we didn't check any amenities and very convenient to the arts district and Gatlinburg. Then I received a call at 1:23 pm that there was a water leak and a wall needed to knocked down so they had to move us. The lady advised us that we would be moved and it would be an upgrade to the Natural Attractions Cabin. This was not an upgrade as the nightly rate was $30 less and less beds. Joan, who works part time, tried to help and agreed that this was not an upgrade but a downgrade. I was advised that there was no manager on duty and there were no other cabins. Finally they found the View for us but it was not be ready until after 4 pm and the manager would contact us that Monday afternoon. The cabin was beautiful and clean expect for the fact that there was no bromine tablets in there to clean the hot tub, so we only got to use it one night. Maintenance was contacted and they put some type of powder in there and added a bromine tablet. We never received a call from a manager up to this point. The customer service/management is unresponsive, rude and not helpful. I would of liked to come back for spring break but based on the above information I will not be staying with the resort property nor recommending it. Our three-day trip didn't feel nearly long enough, but we are already planning our next trip back. We can't recommend Elk Springs Resort, and specifically, The View enough. Anytime someone scores, the puck lands in the floor. The bedspreads and blankets on all the beds are very dirty and need to be washed or replaced. There is a wasp problem in the cabin. Our cabin was amazing! We got to the cabin using the directions provided and it was not hard to find. I received the passcode to the cabin around 1-2pm that it was ready. Cabin was very clean, kids were excited about their private Arcade game, pool table and air hockey table. I really liked that there are two master bedrooms in each level. Queen bunk bed room was perfect for the kids and they had their own bathroom too! Kitchen was equipped with more than enough utensils and equipments for cooking. Wine bottle opener, grilling tools and even an icecream scoop. We did grocery shopping at Food City, which is a local large grocery market and they had everything we needed. Grill on the balcony was functioning well and we had bbq once. Hot tub on the balcony was filled with water, seemed clean and ready to use. Being in a hot tub on a drizzling afternoon after a walk in the woods was very relaxing.. The only complaint I have is that rooms are very sound proof. I could hear every foot steps above the ceiling from kids bedroom when I was in the master bedroom down stairs. Also when you are watching a movie in the theater room, expect that everyone can hear that despite door closed. I think it is a inevitable nature of the cabins and it really isn't going to be in a way of me returning to Elk Spring Resort! Apart from this, the media room is completely useless as you cannot connect your USB,cables to run a movie. The only way to run a movie is CD which was also not informed. Cable is not available in the media room. Also, the property doesn't has any view whatsoever so don't be misled with the name "The View". Apart from these sour experiences, the rest of it was good. Had to make two trips into Sevierville to WalMart - and that was a bit of a ride - about 25 minutes.
