The proximity to the amazing arts & crafts community gives you something to do (should you be able to pull yourself away from the cabin) without the hustle & bustle of traffic. There are several very interesting shops & artisans that you would be remiss to pass up seeing. The only thing about the cabin we wished was different is that you couldn't adjust the heat in the pool room. I understand that it helps keep the pool warm but it can be a little stifling in there. I said 3pm as we had reservations for that night at 730pm in pigeon forge. I received a text the day of our arrival at 12:54 that check in would be delayed to 5:30. At 2:30 I received another text delaying it again until 6:15. I finally received a text at 6:03 with the code to get in. So, we had no time to get ready and beat traffic. We looked over the cabin and everything looked fine until we went downstairs to the pool. Heat was blowing at 83 degrees. I called Elk Springs the lady on the phone said she would call back with instructions of have maintenance out. I never got a call back or maintenance out to adjust. The next morning, I called and called with no answer. I sent an email and finally got a response call. The lady on the phone said she would send maintenance out. Shortly after I received text saying they would be there by 2:18. While we were out, I received another text with a delay to 4:47. When we returned, they had been there but only turned the heat down to 80 degrees. Still felt like setting in a sauna. I tried to call the office, but no one answered. I sent a text and got a response that the pool room temperature has to stay at 80 degrees for condensation. And that they would have management look into the delays getting into the cabin. That was the last I heard from Elk Spring about the delays or the pool issue. I've stayed at other cabins in the area with indoor pools and never had this problem. It was so hot in that room we couldn't use the pool or the theater. So, half the house was unusable unless you want a sauna to watch a movie or swimming 80 degrees water. Also, we had plans to have dinner and watch a movie downstairs in the pool area. Yet, we weren’t made aware that we needed DVDs or to hook something else up in order to make that possible. So, we weren’t able to use those facilities and again, had to change our plans. We decided instead of watching our movie downstairs, we’d just turn on the TV and find something there. Yet, the internet/cable was out and didn’t come on until the next day shortly before we checked out, or there abouts. Not to mention, the alarm was offputting and confusing at first, and there was a little more of someone else’s hair in the bathroom and on the towels then we would’ve preferred. So, all in all, I’d say that especially, because I only had a couple days in there, there were way too many discrepancies in the short time, and while it had potential to be, my stay wasn’t worth the wait or the money that I paid, and it be nice to receive some type of consultation/compensation. Bed was very comfortable. Nice kitchen with toaster, blender, pots & pans, utensils and more. Washer/dryer on site that seemed to work well Pool towels provided Bathroom in pool area Cons: Floors are very squeaky Pool room entertainment system is difficult to manage, even after watching instructional video. We ended up not using it. Alarm for pool room kept malfunctioning and going off despite being pushed. My husband found a loose wire and fixed it. Hot tub was 85 and was in vacation mode. Fortunately I googled how to put it in regular mode and we were able to use it on the second day Refrigerator was not cold. Took overnight to get cold enough to put our food in No sponge for sink. I’d say Blackberry Springs is my least favorite. The pool was too cold to swim, so cold that my kids used the hot tub instead of the pool. The pool also appeared a bit “odd colored” upon arrival so I didn’t want my kids (age 5) getting in. Seemed like an accident waiting to happen. We couldn’t see the bottom of the poop at it was only 4ft. I had to call maintenance the next day because the pool was foamy. The maintenance came and fixed the issue using some type of chemical, but he wasn’t very pleasant. Although he said the pool is safe, I still didn’t feel comfortable using it so we didn’t. The waterfall near the pool area also didn’t work properly. There was also a really loud fan in the pool area which made it almost impossible to hear the projector screen. The cabin was very clean and the location was pretty decent. I wasn’t very happy about being so close to other cabins so this certainly isn’t the place if you want privacy. There was also a lot of trash in the wooded area behind the cabin. I can say that I’m always very impressed with the overall property management company (easy reservation process, easy check in/check out directions and very helpful when I called to voice my concerns with the pool.
