They only swept but they needed to be mopped. The beds are very firm and I woke up feeling like I slept on the floor. So no peace and quite while others in the cabin are doing anything. The washer makes a funny noise and the dryer took over 70 min to dry a small load of towels. Not as clean as other people stated on reviews. We had to pick up cheese balls and Capri suns off the porch, most of the dishes and pots had dried food on them. So we had to clean everything we used before we cooked. There were no kitchen garbage bags. The kitchen wasn’t well equipped either. No cutting boards, the knives wouldn’t cut through pretty much anything. The measuring cup had cracks in the bottom. The dryer wouldn’t dry. We had to dry things multiple times. There were centipedes all over the bathrooms and laundry room. Location wasn’t great. Other people would park in the small area we had to park. The fridge tray was broken so if you at something in there one end would pop up. The sofas had crumbs on them when we got there. They need to step up the cleaning and spray for bugs. The one that fold up and don’t have too much cushion. The shower head in the showers are great! There was a couple of thing wrong/concern that would need to be attended to at this property. Shower curtain in the master bedroom was molded. There was a Leak in theater room when the upstair shower where being used. Air hockey need a update, it is broken. It Does not blow enough air for the hockey pock to move smoothly across the table. The theater room Needed extra option or a Ruku. There was only a blu-Ray player in there. Basement stayed cold all the time and if you turn up the heat than the 2nd floor become super hot. All vent was dirty and hard to open or close on the main floor. Let’s discuss the tv’s. They are old, small and very outdated. Definitely time to hit a Black Friday sale and update the tv’s. The theater room only has availability to watch DVDs. In this age when most people use Netflix or other platforms to watch movies that wasn’t very useful. This is the first cabin I’ve been to where the kitchen dishes wasn’t stocked very well. We only had 3 small pots to rotate around attempting to cook dinner, and there were no lids for the pots. Be sure to pack tissue, trash bags and paper towels because they only leave one for use in the rooms. Now the showers were absolutely amazing. The water gets extremely hot and the water pressure was great which sometimes lack in rentals but this one did not disappoint! There were also ample bath towels which were appreciated. Our comforter had a weird white stain on it, which was concerning because I always wonder if the comforter and sheets are changed or just the sheets between visit. The basement level was really hard to keep warm. If coming during the winter, be sure to have your kids in onesies and double up on blankets as that’s where the kids beds are. Comparing to other rentals we’ve stayed at, we would not return to this one. It’s nice, but not what we desire when on vacation. We cooked in the kitchen the first night, breakfast the next morning and then dinner on the grill the last night. The utensils and dishes provided were good also but we wished we brought more. The air hockey table was on its last leg and I was told that the pool table in our cabin was damaged by the previous guest and was on order. If gaming is important to you, make sure you check on the condition of the equipment before you arrive. I negotiated an extra night for the missing table which we used for a late checkout time. The rooms and furniture were all very clean and confortable. Our cabin had a home theater room with a DVD player. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't plugin my iPhone or Apple TV. The DVD player didn't have additional inputs. We ended up renting redbox dvds. Overall it was a great vacation. We normally have and excellent time. We had to wonder on this stay if the management had changed or if our cabin was just jinxed. We could hardly tell there was a fire in the area no damage to this property that we could see. I think the town has done an excellent job cleaning up. We had a few problems with our cabin. The water heater and the heat went out on day 2. The heater affected the second and the lower portion of the cabin. It took no time to get that fixed with a quick phone call. Very courteous staff the first time. Well the heat did not come back on that day in fact it was out the entire day and night despite a second call to maintenance. The guys that came out were polite but did not fix the problem but said it was fine. We felt like popsicles that night and were unable to enjoy the main reason we rented which was the theater room. It was too too cold to watch a movie so we all had to go up on the third floor just to feel human. The third time maintenance came out was the charm it was fixed that time but it took the majority of the day to warm the entire cabin and we were able to enjoy that theater room and the downstairs game room. The second and third time calling maintenance and the main office was not nice I felt like I was bothering them with my problem. In the end it all was fixed. IT did take until day 3 to enjoy the cabin. We like Elk Springs but we will NOT stay at this cabin again maybe another one. I would think that by 2:00 someone could have called so that we could have gone straight to a restaurant or something rather than taking your suggested round-about route (to avoid going thru Pigeon Forge traffic) and arriving at an unavailable cabin at check-in time. We left, drove around for a bit, then came back. I thought that someone was going to call to tell us the cabin was ready, but we had to call there at 4:30 to confirm that the cabin had been cleaned & was available. Then the lights/outlets in 2 of the bedrooms didn't work. We had to call for a maintenance person to come out. It was just a tripped breaker, but it seems like that would have been noticeable to the cleaning people and already reported to the office. The basement stunk like beer as though a substantial amount had been spilled recently. The washing machine had a ring of black "gunk" where the top of the water line. The DVD player in one of the bedrooms would play a DVD but no sound. The middle front row chair in the theatre room was broken (you could sit in it, but if you reclined it went back & sideways), & the pillowcases on one of the beds were regular size on king sized pillows. I thought I'd trade those pillows for the ones in the decorative shams but those had no pillowcases at all so I just slept on part of the pillows. We did not call the office for these things (except to report the broken theatre room chair) but decided we'd just deal with them since we had already called several times on our first day. It was disappointing, because we had stayed w/another company 5 times, but found their customer service to be "lacking." We'd hoped that Elk Springs would be different." It is dirty behind doors, door ledges are dirty, stickers left on bathroom cabinet. Two of the TVs required reprogramming to get them to work. The upstair Masters do not have threshold covering carpet between bedroom and bathroom -- nails can be felt. I find it unprofessional that no one answers the phone, and that Tenants are required to leave a message and wait for a return call.
