The property description was accurate with location, layout and amenities. It needs some updating with the cushions in the enclosed patio on the 2nd floor. They should be stored away when not in use. The property was somewhat cleaned the cleaning crew could have done a better job. The barbecue grill was filthy it was unusable it should be replaced. The rental office provided good customer service with any of my request. We enjoyed downtown Gatlinburg, Dolly Wood, Skywalk bridge, Pirate Voyage Dinner & show and Ripley's Aquarium. The property was conveniently located between Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge. We saw many bears and cubs at Grotto Falls, Cataract Falls and Cades Cove - Great Smoky Mountains. However, the cabin had many problems, like a noisy heating unit in the attic that kept waking us up through the night. The coffee pot was functional, but ancient, and much of the furnishings were tired and worn, especially the leather(?) sofa and chair upstairs. The provided hand soap was nice, but there was no soap tray in which to put it after use. And the sink in the upstairs bath was slow running. Lastly, I was suspicious about the cleaning before we arrived. We found a long, dark hair in our sink, though neither of us have long, much less dark hair, and we found coffee grounds in the coffee maker when we first made coffee the next morning. The grill itself was filthy and most definitely needs replaced or refurbished. Leaves and dirt everywhere. I understand there will be leaves at autumn time but they didn't even try to sweep up anything. Porches were very dirty. The outside cigarette container caught on fire as there was paper and filth in it and it wasn't cleaned out. The cushions on the side porch were FILTHY and not even placed correctly on the chairs. The back was towards the front, the were placed sideways instead of vertically..the cleaning people didn't even place the dirty cushions correctly which, by the way, are removable for cleaning. They zip on and off and should have been laundered. The foot stools were all over the place and the table out there was gross and unclean too. There was ZERO dish detergent (like Dawn) to be able to wash down the counters and filthy tables with. There was food crumbs on the black chairs in the dining room, obviously not cleaned. The wet smelly mops and brooms and buckets were left in the corner of the kitchen. The arcade machine was broke too! This home needs revamped and updated. It wasn't ready at 3p which is your check in time. After traveling for 10 hours it's super unprofessional to ask your guests to "Find something to do" until your cleaning folks finish. How incredibly rude. By 3p that home should have been cleaned and ready to go. 2 woman cleaning that home would take at least 8 hours to do the job properly too. You need a much larger cleaning crew to be able to get in and out quicker than that. We understand each home is individually owned and will not be back to that home for sure. We were contacted that our check in had to be delayed due to cleaning. However when we arrived there were cups with cigarettes on the patio and a dirty rag left behind. The toilet in the upstairs bath was very dirty and didn’t look like they had clean around it in years. The kitchen cabinet knobs we sticky and you could see the grim on the doors. All the mattresses need to be replaced and the curtains did not cover the windows properly. This cabin does not appear to be top priority for the owners. Elk Springs took care of all of our needs and were very responsive the couple of times we called them during our stay. The Four Seasons property could sleep 14 people, but our party was only 8, giving us plenty of space. This was a 3 story property with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on a lower level, a main level with a kitchen eating area and den as well as a 1/2 bath and an upper level with another seating area, bedroom with a bath, a pool table and video game table. All of the bedrooms had king or queen size beds and one room had a bunk with 2 queens. There was a hot tub on the lower level and a grill on the main level. There were several outdoor decks, all with furniture for seating and one of the decks on the main level was enclosed with screen. The kitchen was nice sized and had plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glassware. The inside was very clean. There were some things that weren't so great however. The living room furniture was truly awful, particularly on the main floor. The cushions were flat and wouldn't stay pushed back against the back of the couch, one of the cushions on the main floor was actually torn open in the back and we weren't aware of it until we began to see the pillow fill on the floor. The couch on the upper floor was so worn down that you sunk down into it. The grill was so dirty we chose not to use it and because it was so dirty, we were afraid to use the hot tub, so didn't even raise the cover. The bunk bed looked like the wood was cracked, so we wouldn't allow anyone to sleep up on top, and the lower bed seemed to have something wrong with the frame you sunk down into the mattress on one side. The property did come with some starter soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap and toilet paper, but not nearly enough. You may also want to plan to bring your own towels as they were very abrasive. Day 2 we called for garage pickup. Beds were (beautifully) made of wood and had thick layer of dust on them. Carpets weren’t vacuumed but cabin was cozy. We were in the hot tub multiple times a day and after the 5th day we had to call maintenance to come and shock it. One of the bathroom tubs had sow bugs a.k.a. roly-poly‘s that wouldn’t stop coming out of the drain at one point there were five or six. Oh and make sure you are nearby to restart the dryer since it randomly stops mid-cycle. As much as we were charged, I’d look elsewhere. Some of my family members are regular bath-takers. I ran to Food City to buy Epson salts only to find that the floor of the bathtub in the downstairs common bathroom was disgusting. If I had some Comet and a scrubber, I would have cleaned it myself. Additionally, the shower curtain had mold growing on it. It's surprising these issues were not noticed or addressed by the cleaning crew. Secondly, my son (14) got in the hot tub (Which works well and seems clean) but when he got out he stepped in dog poo that was not noticed by the cleaners somehow. There was some bit of dog food on the ground next to the couch in the living area. My wife was browning some ground beef and the first spatula she used broke under normal use. The streak knives in the steak block don't appear to have been cleaned. The first two I grabbed appeared to be used and unclean. But this is something I can understand missing. Perhaps the previous guests used them for something trivial and put them back in the block. Both of the beds in the bunk room LOOK made, but after pulling back the quilt, I saw the bedsheet is nicely folded under the pillows and I had to make the beds at 11PM. The arcade machine worked on day one but then never came back on. The resort area is great. Not crowded and very quiet. Two of the pullout beds were both broken - so we had to squish into the other beds and buy an air mattress. Very unpleasant as we paid to be able to use all bed spaces. This is a pet friendly cabin and we asked the maintenance company if they do a deep clean prior to, as we had 2 guests who had pet allergies. They assured us they cleaned it well, but when we got there, we wiped the stairs and saw way too much black dog hair. The hot tub water definitely wasn't drained and refilled as we could see dirt and other particles in it, so we didn't use that as it wasn't sanitary for our group. The bed sheets had stains on them and one of the rooms was never cleaned. Horrible cleaning job overall. Good location but very minimal parking space. Wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to others, based on the misleading facts posted on the website. The only problem was there was no bedroom on the main floor and my sister is handicapped and can't go up and down stairs. I should have double checked that. Customer service was great as well. The couch in the living room was beyond repair and very uncomfortable. Dust could be found on the walls and we found old food under couches and tables. The hot tub was clean at a glance but was lined with a gooey film around the edges under the surface of the water. Even after them quickly coming to empty it and refill it, particles were seen floating in the water. maybe the whole thing needs a good flush and clean of the filter system? Outside furniture was cracked and dirty. Overall the location was beautiful, quiet with pretty decent views but the cabin needs a thorough spring cleaning and some of the furniture needs to be replaced. Oh and the two shower heads in the bottom bathrooms hurt. They are so pressurized they sting :( I would def look into staying with Elk Springs again but probably not this particular cabin. Our check in time was supposed to be at 3pm, and the prior tenants had to be gone by 10am. I received a text saying that my cabin was ready to be checked in at 10:42am. That alone tells you all they did was replace bed sheets and towels (hopefully). Called customer service to get my $80 cleaning fee back and they said they couldn’t do that. What a disappointing stay at a place we paid a premium for! I hope the owners find new management. We did like Gatlinburg. The setting was very pretty. The house is beautiful, just not maintained in good condition. They don't even replenish toilet paper and dishwashing detergent when you are paying over $500 a night. At the price we paid, we expected property in good condition, no 4 a.m. drunks, and at least friendly people when there were issues. We won't stay here again." We have booked this cabin only for the reason the kids would play with this arcade machine. But the power cord was missing. The kids were very much disappointed of not having it useable. We tried to reach the support team, but there was no response. Every time we called we waited on the call for a longtime and it went to voicemail straight ahead. There is no on site management or decent cell phone service. After trying to reach someone for thirty minutes finally got a human to tell me they didn't know what happened and I would be upgraded to another cabin. Moved my family of eight into cabin then five days later get a confusing call that my cabin is ready. After calling management am told I have to move to original cabin rental because the cabin we have been upgraded to is rented to someone else. It is 10 am and we are leaving for the day to try to enjoy our vacation. I refuse to move and am harassed and threatened by manager, Brandi most of the day. Finally reach owner and he apologizes and tells me we can stay in "upgraded" cabin for the remaining two days of our stay. Will never book here again. Beware no security or on site management. We had a large family gathering, but the cabin was so large everyone had plenty of space to roam. Each bedroom had a TV with many available channels. We took advantage of the hot tub i the evenings. The fire place was a nice touch, particularly in the evening when it was cool. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed. There was a pool table for the men. The location was great. We were simply a few minutes drive to downtown Gatlinburg and close to many fine restaurants, yet we were far enough away we had complete privacy and we enjoyed the views we had of the mountains. I would highly recommend your resort to families who wish to get away for at least a weekend. We enjoyed our stay so much we're planning another trip and this time we intend on staying longer. The directions were perfect and we had easy access into our cabin. I would strongly recommend Elk Springs to anyone interested in visiting this area." The location is nice, close to town yet out among the artist loop in the quiet of the mountains. We loved the screen porch with its own fireplace for relaxing in the evenings as well as the hot tub. The views were nice from the decks. The cabin needs some non-stick pans for cooking and the video game machine upstairs was broken, but other than that, a great cabin and Elk Springs did a great job.
