Must be 21 or older to reserve a cabin and person booking must be staying in the cabin. We provide a starter supply of paper products, detergents and soaps and coffee filters. We do not supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash and there are no pantry items, spices, salt & pepper or coffee included - guests should bring these items. If you cancel your reservation 14 days or less prior to arrival you will be responsible for the full reservation amount (you will forfeit the full deposit amount and the non-refundable reservation fee, and shall be responsible for the remaining rent amount and all other applicable charges associated with the reservation). Only the Guest named on the Agreement may cancel a reservation and cancellations must be made by phone call to Rental Agents Office.

The rental we had was absolutely beautiful and the view was indescribable. We began everyday and ended everyday on the deck looking at the mountains. The rental is up a tight, windy road with only three other rental properties. It was very quiet and no traffic since it was a dead end. The only issues we experienced were a foul smell in the cabin upon our arrival. We found the smell in the fridge, dishwasher, and garbage can. We cleaned out these three items and placed a plug-in diffuser in the living room. After a couple days the smell went away and we were not bothered with it anymore. The environmental services staff could have done a much better job. The structure of the cabin was great. It had endless hot water and a room sized shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept soundly without any interruption. The hot tub on the deck was a nice feature but could use a little TLC. Many of the jets didn't function as they should, but still created a nice environment to sit out at night. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable. The outside gas fireplace is a nice feature even on a warm night. The inside has a gas fireplace that didn't function. The living room TV worked well with a little bit of practice, but the sound system was unmanageable. The bedroom TV was unable to get any of the satellite programming that you could on the living room TV. Thankfully we had an internet streaming device with us that we used in the bedroom. We sleep with the TV on at night. Not to the control of this property, but on the last two nights of our stay which was the weekend, a property through the woods obviously had new renters and they were loud, playing music, yelling and hollering. They were having a good time and this only affected our time on the deck. We did not hear them once inside the cabin. The management company was awesome for our reservations and advice of a cabin to stay in. My wife and I are first responders and wanted a nice, quiet place to vacation." The view was exactly as depicted in the ad. The staff was awesome, even had someone on duty when the power went out overnight during a storm. Our only downside was the steep driveway. I did see in the description on our reservation that 4 wheel drive was recommended for winter months, but our stay was in May. Our parking spot was across the steep driveway. We had difficulty unloading the car. We are in our 60's,our ankles were turning. I had to use a cane to navigate across the driveway. My little Ford Edge didn't have enough power, apparently to go up and down the drive, as I spun, mostly. We had brought enough food, so we didn't need to get out until our day of checkout. Since this was our first trip to the area, it is a lesson learned about accessibility. I will know what qualities to look for next time." Check in was very easy as they simply send you a code and instructions to unlock the door, no stopping anywhere to pick up a set of keys. The cabin was very clean and well maintained and had almost everything we needed. Everything we wanted to use (grill, hot tub, fire table) worked and was easy to use. The cabin was close to downtown Gatlinburg and the national park. The day after we checked in, management called to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us some good recommendations on things to do and places to go. This has been the worst road that I have ever had to drive on to get to my cabin also the check-in process was horrible the night before they sent an email asking what time we would be arriving. I let them know 3 PM that is what time check-in starts. However, the morning of our trip I got notification I wouldn’t be able to check in until 6 PM. Oak Springs resort was not accommodating. I asked that since to due to a late check-in, I could receive a late check out they denied my request because other people needed to check into their cabin promptly that day, but they did not care if I checked in promptly to my cabin so I was not able to check in until 5 PM. I also asked if they could offer a discount due to the fact that the cabin was not ready at check-in time and they said they do not do anything like that. I would never stay at another elk Spring resorts cabin again because of their customer service I would not recommend at all." Getting in after 8pm made for a little confusion going up the driveway hill, but I was grateful for the cabin name signs. The driveway itself doesn’t leave room for a lot of error, but that’s small potato’s. The cabin was warm and cozy and just what I needed. It was clean, which is always a plus! My only complaint would be the kitchen sink water. I went to make coffee and the water was a cloudy cream color. Thankfully I had some bottled water with me and just used that. Aside from that, I would absolutely go back and plan to!! Beautiful views and quiet.... Couldn’t ask for more. Side note: easy drive into downtown! Park at the first public lot you see on the left. However, on this trip, there were a few things we wish had been different. - The driveway to our property was advertised as “better with 4-wheel drive” but it did not prepare us for the incredibly steep drive to the cabin. We had an SUV and we were nervous about making it up the slope, especially in the rain. If you are fearful of heights, this is not the cabin for you. At one point, there were several local residents walking up the steep single lane road while we were driving up, which made us very nervous for everyone’s safety. We did ask to be changed to another cabin, but management was unwilling to do so for that reason (which we understood - it’s probably not an uncommon driveway in the area, but just FYI) - The cabin was decently clean, but the toilet had clearly not been scrubbed in a while, the windows were streaky and there was mold in the shower. - The couch and bed were not comfortable. - the fire table and hot tub were great!! We loved sitting on the porch with the fire going. - The view is wonderful. It’s a fairly private location and we loved that. - The check-in/check-out process was very easy. Floors were dirty, the trash can stunk the kitchen up, the bed wasn’t made correctly so the bedsheets didn’t fit and kept popping off, a few things like that. Just minor inconveniences that we took care of that we just weren’t expecting to have to when renting a cabin. Otherwise we had no other issues during our stay." There was a significant roof leak in this cabin. We had to request a move – it was not offered initially. Customer service was unresponsive, unprofessional, & ultimately just rude. Maintenance came in initially and removed all of the electronics in the living room and recommended a move. Being 4th of July, we had to wait a full 24 hrs before another cabin was available. They offered no discount or refund for the issue and actually made us pay the difference in price for the new cabin. Another maintenance guy showed up the day of our move to “repair” the roof with a can of spray sealant and a tube of silicone & it was immediately back on the rental site. We were told by maintenance that this was an ongoing issue & they have been aware of it. We ended up leaving a day early from our replacement cabin & our 15th anniversary trip was essentially ruined. The outdoor firepit was a breeze to use and the hot tub was sooooo relaxing. We even shot pool a few times while there. The indoor fireplace was romantic and kept the front room very warm. I would also recommend that management or the owner invest in a full size ironing board as the small dorm sized one was impossible to manage when ironing a man’s dress shirt and there is no closet or hanging rack to hang up garments anywhere in the cabin. My only two complaints is the steep narrow driveway and that the hot tub was not functioning the first two days of my vacation. The staff who came to fix it were polite and professional and made sure everything was okay before they left. The amenities were decent, however for the price you pay, they need to step up the entertainment package, you get very basic direct tv with hardly any movie channels when you want to settle down for the night and enjoy a movie with your wife. Also, this problem could be addressed with Netflix because it has a smart TV, and Comcast internet, but they don't even have the TV hooked up to internet. I was so tempted to pick up a LAN cable and do it myself. Now I don't mean to complain, but at the time of this review, my wife is nearly 8 months pregnant, so some decent movies would have just tickled her to death, I ended up going to Redbox to solve the issue. If you sat in the furniture there was no support. Elk Springs Resort customer service was fine but their policies were not. There refund policy for cancelled reservations is very rigid and not comparable to their competitors in the Gatlinbury area. My stay in Oct 2015 was enjoyable until we tried to cancel a reservation we had for August 2016. Competitors require a small fee for cancellation but Elk Springs required I purchase cancellation insurance first and then they would refund my deposit less the cost of the insurance. They did that, but I am not sure the insurance was purchased at all. I think it was just a way to get another $367. I felt that this was unreasonable and tainted my entire stay. I would not rent from Elk Springs Resort again if I returned to Gatlinburg. A serious review of their policies is needed.
