The Property management company messaged the day of saying sorry the views that were mentioned and shown in pictures are not available since they haven’t maintained the trees. That was a major disappointment. The place also lacked extra linens for the couch sofa. We called and they did deliver right away . Lastly, the remote is absolutely disgusting. It’s so sticky and seems like it hasn’t been replaced in years... I felt so gross touching it because of how sticky and germ infested it felt. It was really bad and it wasn’t just me who noticed it. The cabin is up on a mountain with a great view, was very clean and smelled very fresh. It’s in a great location, 3 minutes from a little coffee shop, 6 minutes from a restaurant, and about 15 minutes from Gatlinburg, making traveling very minimal. Being in a decently secluded area though, it made for a great stay as we didn’t see hardly any people near where the cabin was. The cabin had just about everything you’d need to stay there for a few days, and if needing anything else, there’s a grocery store only 10 minutes from there. Our only gripe was that the tv in the bedroom was very small and could only access cable, and the tv in the living room had minimal streaming services. But there was only one towel rack (maybe 18"), so we had towel hanging all over the kitchen chairs to dry. I guess I would go back, but it wouldn't take much to take care of the towel rack and clothes rack problems. The cabin and hot tub were very clean upon our arrival. We opened the door and were hit with the strongest odor of some sort of chemicals that we had to open all the doors and windows to air it out. The smell subsided, but never really left. Based on the pictures, everything appeared to be in great shape. I guess they were taken when the cabin was brand new. The kitchen floor had nails in the linoleum to hold the buckling down from water damage. Then we went to the deck. The hot tub looked like it has seen it’s better days and we both lost interest. The deck is literally sagging where the hot tub is sitting 15 feet off the ground on a hillside. We never got in and that was what we were looking forward to! There were other small things that I’m not going to get into due to review space. I did call customer service after check in and told them we were not happy and would like to spend the night and leave in the morning. I asked if they would do anything about the other 2 nights that were booked and got a polite NO. Not really much concern as to if we left or not. They got their money. We did leave a day early. Some of the cabin was nice but, not the amenities that we went there for. Very disappointed!!! FYI...you can barely turn a car around in front of the cabin let alone a truck. Trust me. Even though we spent most of our time out and about we enjoyed relaxing on the deck of our cabin and taking in the scenery. It’s located in a very quiet area with minimal neighbors. The only complaint is that we definitely wished we had been warned about the driveway/parking situation. While our truck had no issues getting up the driveway, we can imagine smaller engine vehicles wouldn’t fair too well. We also had to drive past the cabin to the top of the mountain to turn around so that we could actually park the truck due to the angle of the road/driveway. If you’re in a larger vehicle it’s a bit of a pain, but we got used to it. I definitely wouldn’t recommend taking a car if you plan on staying here unless you know how it will handle it. Our friend stayed in the identical cabin beside us and his fusion struggled climbing the driveway. Luckily he left before the rain because we had to kick it into four wheel drive to get back to the top. All this to say that the cabin is excellent and we just wanted to prepare others for the drive up. To us, it was definitely worth it." The cabin was close enough to town but felt secluded by not being in a resort cabin community. We wanted a vacation to celebrate my retirement just the two of us. We stayed in and relaxed with all the cabin amenities. Picked the cabin for its location, outdoor living space with fire pit, pool table, hot tub and the huge walk in shower. There was a small grill perfect for the two of us and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. Had groceries delivered locally so we never even had to leave for anything! The only “issue” we had was it snowed 6 inches over 2 days. The location was perfect but with snow and ice on ground it was scary driving as no other cars were on the road. Thankfully we had four wheel drive vehicle and got down safely. The management company gave us extended check out to help let snow melt some before we had to leave. Just would be difficult for someone in regular car under those driving conditions. Also igniter on the fire pit messed up but again the management company was very responsive and sent someone to repair. I would highly recommend the cabin to a couple looking for a romantic secluded vacation! We will rent from Elk Springs again for sure! The other issue is the driveway - which the website warned us about and recommended a 4 wheel drive vehicle in questionable weather and I agree! The shared driveway is very steep and narrow (a little scary to maneuver in the dark). Elk Springs Resorts called the day after to verify everything was great. We really enjoyed this cabin since we could grill out and make our own dinner. We went out a few times but couldn't find anything as enjoyable as preparing food with a glass of wine, the mountain view and no crowds or hustle. Then we could sit on the porch with the firepit and another glass of wine as the sun set. You felt slightly guilty doing this day after day. We haven't played pool in years but we enjoyed that a few nights as well. Gatlinburg is a zoo but this cabin is quiet, relaxing and something that we truly enjoyed. We wanted to confirm our second night being refunded and make sure we did what we were supposed to since there was no power (can't run the dishwasher, can't mop up etc) A return call back would have been appreciated especially since the night before when we spoke we were informed of times someone would be in the office and that we would check in with them. My fiancé and I rent a cabin in the smokies every year. This was our first rental with Elk Springs and though we had some issues, we would rent this place again! I assure you that we enjoyed our stay, but I like to know what to expect and what to improve so I'll discuss the cons. It's smaller than we expected, but for two people, it's enough. When we arrived, there were several dead ladybugs all over the cabin. I realize that this happens as it used to happen in my attic every year, but we expected that they would have been swept up. We also found a cockroach, which sent me into a panic and nearly ruined our stay. However, they did offer to send maintenance to spray right away and said that they would have pest control out as soon as we checked out. I never saw anymore and I looked EVERYWHERE. They could use more dishes. With what they have, you have to wash them after each meal rather than with a full load. The hot tub jets aren't all working. Lastly, and most importantly, the mattress is the most unfomfortable one we've ever slept on. We were so sore that we had to go straight to the hot tub each morning just to get moving. That was the worst part of the stay. Those were the cons. The view was beautiful, the shower is my new favorite place, and the private view on the deck makes it better than any of those crowded resort cabins you see up on the mountains where everyone is on top of each other. There are nearby cabins, but they can't see you on the deck."
