If you are looking for a discount 3 bedroom cabin this unfortunately will not be a good option for you. Wine Down is a custom 3 bedroom cabin that formerly was a private residence. While the amazing view would be enough to satisfy most guests, this cabin is also loaded with upscale amenities from the high end kitchen and granite counter tops, to the luxury furnishings and upgraded bedding. Maximum occupancy in Wine Down is 8 guests and due to the high end furnishings and electronics we cannot make an exception to this policy. (3 suites and 1 sleeper sofa in loft) Wine down is a 3 bedroom 3 bath cabin with king master suites. Each suite is on it's own level and the cabin features a game room with pool table and a 60" TV. Must be 21 or older to reserve a cabin and person booking must be staying in the cabin. We provide a starter supply of paper products, detergents and soaps and coffee filters. We do not supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash and there are no pantry items, spices, salt & pepper or coffee included - guests should bring these items. This cabin is professionally managed by in Gatlinburg, TN. We provide concierge service as well as dispatched maintenance and housekeeping should you need assistance during your stay. Burned out bulbs in the lights, broken clocks, sound system unusable, tv didn't work sometimes, screen porch door is missing so it's useless, large stains on the bedroom carpets, stains on rugs, dead bugs in bedrooms all over, view on two porches not the same as shown, patios are completely overrun with webbing, pests, leaves, debris, rotten wood, etc. The wicker furniture is a spider nest! The porches are unusable! Nothing looks like it has been cleaned in 10-15 years. If we rented a rustic cabin, our expectations would be different, but this is marketed as a luxury cabin. There is stickiness, grime, and dust or dirt on every surface. To add insult to injury, when we arrived garbage was on the porch and in the driveway, including a used toilet seat, a box, plastic, and other garbage, the dishwasher had filthy unwashed dishes in it, and the couches and floor had food crumbs and white goo everywhere so we had to clean the cabin ourselves when we arrived! And yet Elksprings charges a hefty cleaning fee! The cabin is decorated (with filthy decorations) for fall but they also left up some dirty Christmas decorations too! It just shows the lack of care. The batteries don't work in remotes, a lot of the furniture is not what was pictured, and there are giant spider webs in the corners of the living room and bedrooms. Under all the beds it's a disgusting mess that has literally not been vacuumed since who knows when! For example, the master bed and next to nightstands there were bugs, thick layers of dust, and debris. The basement bedrooms were in similar condition. The rugs had large gross stains on them. Beds were comfortable and the house has everything you need. When you walk into the home and look outside it is the most gorgeous place to be in the smokies. The pans and cook wear were disappointing since we had planned to cook the entire trip. The shade on the deck fell. The microwave worked intermittently. Most of the sliding doors are pretty hard to slide. We found multiple used face the washing machine, between couch cushions, etc. Some of the pool cue sticks need replacement and the pool table could use some TLC. Management company was mostly very helpful and quick to react, although the one lady we spoke to on the first Saturday was not so nice or helpful...she was quick to be argumentative and blame us and assume we were stupid instead of listen to our problem and resolve it like the lade we spoke to that following Monday. We never found a gas key for the fireplace's hidden gas valve (on left behind TV stand close to floor) and the fire wood provided would never catch. We were really looking forward to family time in front of that fire. There were some quirky door locks as well, but instructions were laminated by each one to help with confusion. If you're traveling with kids, keep in mind the master BR is on the upper (3rd) floor and other BRs are on the lower (1st) floor, that also had a locked door that i assume leads to creepy basement below, and access to the balcony with the hot tub. The decks were cozy, especially with the fire going. Wine Down was extremely clean and very up to date. The beds were very comfortable. The location was not far from downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The grocery store was closeby, as well. It was very nice that we received a welcome call, from management, after check in. The power went out two times when we were there due to storms. I had called to report it and management was very prompt in returning my call, both times. It is very clear that management cares about their guests. A side note, the power was back on in no time. We also had run out of propane for the fire pit on the deck and after a call was placed, they were out immediately to bring another one. They even gave a follow up call to let us know and to see if we needed anything else. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook. There were plenty of dishes, as well as towels in the bathrooms. When the description says the most luxurious cabin in Gatlinburg, it is definitely true. We will be returning in the future. The mountain views are great! We loved the layout of the cabin and the outdoor decks. Upon our arrival we had an issue with the sofa being broken but the response from the property manager was quick. Our only recommendations would be to improve the cleaning of the cabin between rentals. The sofa was pretty dirty under the sofa cushions and the property manager removed a piece of clothing while he was making the repair. Also a good amount of the lamps in the outdoor fixtures are burned out. I know we rented the cabin at the end of the peak season and if the issues aren't reported they can't get fixed. We had originally had reservations for a another cabin and about a week before we were to arrive there was a problem with the cabin we reserved. The cabins they offered were larger and were close to the same location we selected originally. Elk Springs management is very professional and we are very pleased with how they handled this process. The road to the cabin is quite steep and would be tricky in snowy/icy weather! We enjoyed zip lining, hiking and shopping on the Arts and Crafts Loop." We were concerned that because of where this cabin was situated we would be disappointed by the views. While it isn't set as high up, and you aren't necessarily "at the level" of the smokys, it still had a very impressive and almost "cozy" view. What really put this cabin over the top beyond its size and amenities, was its seclusion. You literally do not see another cabin. At night, you may see a light or 2 from cabins that are nearby, but you do not see the cabins themselves at all and we rarely ever saw or heard anyone. It's just a great location. We will be back. Also, the property is on an artesian well, so there is some sulfur smell in the water when you brush teeth and wash hands. Otherwise, very nice."
