This cabin is located just a short 12 minute and convenient drive from Elk Springs Resort. Mountain memories is a two bedroom, three bath cabin featuring 3 levels with privacy for 2 couples. A quick 20 Minutes from downtown and just around the corner to golf, fishing and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Relax outside in front of a fire with an outdoor firepit or stay inside and enjoy Free wireless internet, DIRECTV with over 200 channels and unlimited long distance are all standard. Separate game room with stand up arcade game featuring over 120 classic games such as PAC-MAN or you can shoot a game on the Pool Table if you choose to make a day at the cabin. The loft has a small futon which is just the perfect size for kids. Brand new granite counter-tops in the kitchen! Must be 21 or older to reserve a cabin and person booking must be staying in the cabin. We provide a starter supply of paper products, detergents and soaps and coffee filters. We do not supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash and there are no pantry items, spices, salt & pepper or coffee included - guests should bring these items. My only thing that was a bit disappointing due to i searched for a cabin that had mountain range views, was looking for the whole view from my patio, the pictures on listing show that view, unfortunately most of the view is blocked by trees. It was not clean. Sheets not clean, kitchen dirty, no rugs or carpets vacuumed, trash laying about, etc. We complained to Elk Springs and their solution was to send the maintenance team out to dump a bag of sheets in the foyer (assuming we were going to make the new bed?). The rest of the issues were not addressed. After complaining again, they refunded us the $60 cleaning fee. Whoop dee doo. We stayed in a dirty cabin all weekend and got **** customer service. This was for my wife's birthday by the way (which they were informed about in advance). I've rented from Elk Springs twice before and had great times but never again. They are clearly on the decline. And it's at a great location between both hot spots of the Gatlinburg strip and the strip in Pigeon Forge, both about 25 mins or so. The furniture is updated. The road to the cabin has a few tight turns if you are in a larger vehicle. The next couple of things aren’t cons but more of a recommendation, the bedding could be a bit better quality and more towels left for guests. Any cabin rental we have stayed in with a hot tub provided beach towels for hot tub but this unit did not. Be sure to bring your own!! We received 5 bath towels for a family of 4, perhaps a few extra towels could be left as well. Those small things were the only drawback the place had! The cabin was super nice and clean but toilet on main level rocked and we were told we would have to keep adding water to use the hot tub because it was leaking. They had a hose laying beside it but of course was cold water so it defeated the purpose. So we used pots to filled with hot water and made more trips in and out of the house more than I can count refilling adding hot water to the tub. Once we got it full enough we could use, we got to enjoy it for a few minutes before it leaked down again. Then we kept the hose running slowly in it the rest of our stay to keep the water level up because when it would leak down the jets would start messing up blowing which we knew even though they knew it was leaking we didn’t want it completely damaging it so we tried to keep the water level above the jets. We would try to use it and relax in the evenings but having to keep the hose it and adding pots of hot water was just miserable. We were very disappointed and won’t stay again. Hopefully this has been corrected for future guests so they won’t have to work the whole time they are there like we did just to be able to use it. CON(but definitely not a deal breaker): The cabin is a little difficult to find and the road to/from cabin is a little scary as would be expected. I found the outdoor chairs very uncomfortable, especially trying to sit in Adirondack around the fire. I would also bring a few extra washcloths if your stay is longer than two days (we just did a couple loads of laundry to fix the problem). The parking area is small (as expected) so don't plan on more than 3 cars max, and definitely don't attempt to bring any kind of trailer. OVERALL: I would definitely stay here again, although next time will pick a cabin with a view of the stream so we won't have to drive up/down the mountain (you will give up a beautiful view though). Will definitely use them again for our next trip to the area! For planning purposes to someone considering this cabin, it is 1/2 way between Gatlinburg and Cosby off Rt. 321. Consider the location, based on where you want to spend your time. We were fine with this, for what we had planned. It is up a long, narrow, windy road on a foothill of the Smokies. This added to the secluded feeling. Cabin has 2 bedrooms, so easily can sleep 4 people, but the futon is off the 3rd floor bedroom, in a small loft at the top of the staircase... not really private. So the 5th person may not like that. I wished there was larger windows, to let more natural light in, and see the views from inside the cabin. The arcade game is older and the joysticks were not very accurate, so playing was little frustrating. The pool table was a small one, had to use small sticks as the game room is small. But these are minor things to consider, based on what you like to be in/do. I marked "4" for clean as some Christmas decorations were still up and were dusty, & the top of the fridge was not cleaned - we took care of that - not a big deal. We have a tradition in Michigan to sit by a campfire each night - for hours (not just one as is the limitation with the gas fire pit). And they don't allow toasting of marshmallows over the gas fire pit ... NO TOASTED MARSHMALLOWS. 2. Hill we went up was tough. Not sure I'd stay again with that drive. I didn't let our teenage drivers go out on their own because of the hill - that kind of sucked. One wrong move (or slide on wet pavement) and you could literally die! The only negative thing that I would say is for the comment books to be removed which are downstairs near the lamp. The comments were good reviews however a couple of them referenced a ghost named George who they mentioned was nice. That freaked me out considering the size of the cabin and the location. Mar 23, 2017 - , Montgomery, AL "Mountain Memories We were excepting the cabin to be different then what it was, in the pictures it make it look like the outside it literally on a mountain and it isn't, you can see the mountains but not up as high as what the pictures make it look, the back yard isn't as big as what the pictures make it seem either. The bedroom upstairs only had one night stand in which was a inconvenience. The cabin was made out to be private in which it is in some ways but I was told there was only one cabin near it and that was before mountain memories and that is not true, there is a cabin down from it in which can see the entire front porch of the cabin as well as the hot tub. We would not stay at this exact cabin again especially for the nearly $1,000 I paid for it, I feel it is absolutely not worth that much, especially with the other cabin down from it being able to see everything you do on the front porch, privacy was a huge factory in why we chose this cabin and it failed. However, the beds were very comfortable, the hot tub was great! (Minus the cabin below being able to see it) the pool table was nice, and my son liked the arcade game machine. I would rate Mountain Memories a 2 out of 5 Just because to me to some of the pictures are misleading (outside pictures, making it look like it's over a mountain, but it isn't you can see the road leading up to the cabins, and it isn't as private as what we were told.) We wanted a private location, nice accommodations, good amenities and Mountain Memories delivered it all. The location is fantastic, a short 20 min ride to Gatlinburg, but you'd never know you were so close. The views out the back are beautiful and the property is very private - there is one property that can be seen off the deck but it is still pretty hidden by trees. The furnishings were great, the cabin was clean upon arrival and had everything we needed for a great experience. I sure hope I am able to revisit Mountain Memories again, it left us with some great ones." My friends and I were going to go skiing for the weekend, however the weather wasn’t great, so we made a last minute decision to go to Gatlinburg. We found the cabin online and quickly booked it. The entire process was very easy and clear, from booking to check-in to check-out. The pictures online don’t do it justice – the place is perfect! Everything was kept in great condition. Amenities were great – we especially loved the hot tub and the fire pit (and smores!). Actually we got a lot of use out of the arcade, too! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with all the tools we needed to cook. Our only initial concern when we booked was if it would be too far from town – but it wasn’t a bad drive at all, and we ended up enjoying the distance, since the cabin was nice and quietly tucked away. We ended up hiking the Rainbow Falls while we were in town, and we’d definitely recommend that for a solid hike up in the mountains (about 6 miles RT). Overall we were looking for a relaxing weekend to get away and de-stress, and we definitely found it here. Would highly recommend!! Initially I called another company about a different cabin, but I could never speak to anyone and they did not call me back. When I first called about Mountain Memories I spoke to a very "happy to help me" lady that I ended up talking to a number of times because I had questions. Their availability, patience and general kindness was a key for me renting the cabin. They were always available when and if I had a question or needed them. The cabin online showed us everything that we wanted - a main level bedroom for my father, a loft area for our child, another room for us, a fireplace, fire pit, swing, pool table, video game, TV in each bedroom, three bathrooms, nice kitchen, porches with beautiful views, and that great open cabin feel! The cabin did not disappoint us. It was beautiful, clean, and a pleasure to stay in. My child hugged the railing before we left. Even the welcome mat was a good sign since it is the one we have at home. We enjoyed being out a little further. It was still easy to get to downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, as well as to the Tuckaleechee Caverns in Townsend. What a beautiful 18 mile drive following the river back to Gatlinburg. There was a really nice big gift shop along that route as well. We also went to the welcome centers and gift shops for the park, wanting to support the part as it is the only one in the United States that you do not need to pay to go in. It is a beautiful park! We tried to do things we could not do at home like ride a coaster down a mountain, play on rocks in a stream, go to the Titanic museum and even took in the Dixie Stampede show. We had a great week and look forward to visiting the beautiful Smoky Mountains again! Also, perhaps add a note about the outdoor firepit being gas. We hauled up firewood to make sure we had some, and turns out we didn't need it. Also, it being gas, and not able to cook smores was kind of a bummer. Other than that the cabin was perfect.
