It was a little hard to get to, though, and I definitely would not attempt it without a truck. I was a little disappointed with some of the amenities for the price, however. The jacuzzi was filthy, with black specks shooting out of the jets after we turned them on. The water in the fridge didn't work, and the water from the sink tasted like chemicals. They asked us to do the dishes, but didn't really leave enough dish soap to do that. There was a washer and dryer, but we had to buy laundry soap to wash the towels and washcloths, since there weren't enough washcloths to last us the entire trip. There also wasn't enough toilet paper or Kleenex. It seemed a bit stingy to charge us that much for a cabin and only provide one roll of toilet paper and an empty box of Kleenex. Also, they had a bunch of inaccurate instructions for using the TV, hot tub, and other amenities. To sum up, the cabin itself and the location were beautiful, but for what we were paying, I would have expected a little better service. We required customer service twice during our stay and the response was quick both times. The gentlemen that helped us were friendly and helpful. The inside of the cabin was presentable, however, since our last visit 7 years ago, we were sad to see that the cabin is showing some wear and tear. The pictures of this cabin online are not what it looks like now. In addition, the shower needs repair, the decks and grill were dirty, welcome mat was ratty and the upper windows, which are supposed to show off the amazing view of the Smokies from this cabin, were filthy. We would highly recommend repair of the decking, and shower as well as giving the outside spaces a thorough sweep down before each rental and a much needed window cleaning several times a season. We would recommend Elk Springs Resort to a friend or relative, but we would suggest asking for a newer cabin. Easy to get to, located just close enough to town, but secluded. The main issues were that the grill provided is not the one shown in the photos & it failed to work our last night. We expected there to be a fireplace on the lower level deck and there was not. 2 birds flew into the windows on the upper deck during our stay and maintenance would not help us dispose of them. The entertainment and TV setups are very outdated and hard to understand/navigate. The bear proof trash can outside is NOT bear proof, FYI. The hot tub, shower & jetted tub were nice. The TV in the bathroom is almost not useable as you can’t see anything when you’re sitting in the tub. Some of the house keeping needed some love as well, entertainment systems, tub ledge & bathroom fire place/entertainment were so dusty. Not sure if this is a seasonal thing, but the decks & the upper level were infested with lady bugs. Kitchen was nicely stocked with essentials, couch was comfy as was the bed. The outside on all fronts is also covered in spider(s)/webs - understandable as we’re in the mountains, but the outdoor furniture was covered, it’s very easy to wipe that down for each guest. However after we started unpacking our things & was ready for a shower we realized how dirty the shower was. Our shower had 2 shower heads and jets on the wall. They all were caked in build up. It looked like no one cleaned them in a very long time. Then the jets in the bathtub were disgusting. So we didn't even want to use it. Then we go to lay down for the night and the bed just smelled like sweat. Especially the pillows. When I took the pillow case off I noticed a bunch of yellow stains on the pillow cover. It looked like it hadn't been washed in forever. The washer also had mold build up all over the seal. They Then offered house cleaning to come out & clean. At that point I refused because the bathroom needs a deep clean and I didn't want someone at our cabin scrubbing while me & my husband were on our honeymoon. It should have already been top notch & spotless before we got there. To top it off our firepit on the deck wasn't working. we called at 4:30 and maintenance didn't arrive until 10:15p.m. you would think for how much they charge a night & cleaning fees that it would at least be clean. Most cabins for two had ridiculous amenities like a bathtub in the bedroom (beautiful for a honeymoon, not so beautiful for a mother/daughter trip) but this cabin had a fabulous master bath with a jetted tub and separate shower. However, don’t worry, couples - the master bath still had a fireplace by the tub for that special ambiance, haha! The hot tub was a major highlight, water replaced and already warm by the time we arrived. The property manager was contentious and easily reachable. The key to this rental, though, is truly the location. It has a beautiful Mountain View. There are still a few cabins above and below you, but THIS particular cabin still offers you all the privacy you need to stand naked on the balcony in any position HA! You’re close enough to other renters to have peace of mind, but still secluded enough not to be bothered by any noise. I’ll echo what another reviewer said about being able to hear traffic from the road the rental site is near, but that’s inconsequential compared to the sheer value this cabin offers. There are definitely a few high slopes you need to conquer in order to get to the property, but my mom and I managed well in her Toyota Camry. You certainly don’t need to have an equipped vehicle to make it to this spot. However, the first drive there was a little daunting. This location is about 15-20 mins outside of Gatlinburg proper, and thank God for that. It happens to be next door to the CLIMB ziplining course. I HIGHLY recommend adding that to your vacation experience. It’s also 20 mins away from Hartford, where white water rafting experiences launch. DO IT. My 60 y/o mom had the time of her life. The gas grill doesn't get super hot. Not sure why. I probably did something incorrectly. But it just didn't get as hot as I'd like. Some of the linens were getting a bit old and need replacing. The cabin location is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. This can be a plus if you want seclusion. The upstairs of the cabin was unbearably hot during the day. We mostly stayed in the lower level as it was much much cooler. Also the ceilings and some air vents were very dusty, and the toilet upstairs would run water if you didn't pull the handle up after flushing. Once you leave the main road, it’s a 2min winding drive up the hill. Your so isolated, no one would ever disturb you. The entrance to your driveway / parking spot is blind and over a hill. It’s a little intimidating the first time, especially in the dark... but totally do able if you take your time. I do recommend a smaller - midsized vehicle as it will marking getting in and out a breeze. No extended cab pickups here. The views... breath taking! The hot tub.... Hot and amazing! Lol The bed.... Sooooooo comfortable. The shower.... You can fit 6 people in there. Lol The only negative was we stayed a week, and they don’t do towel service daily. Instead they provide a washer and dryer that’s ninja silent so you can clean your towels. We REALLY didn’t want to be doing laundry on our honeymoon... but it was doable. They do offer a towel service, but there is an “up charge” for it so we didn’t even ask. Full kitchen.... Pool table... Outdoor fire pit... And AC that worked like a beast! I never spoke to anyone.... Texted me a door code and we were in. Texted to confirm we got settled in and that all was okay and then they left us alone for a week. Texted again to check out. Easy peasy! Please note... when your in your cabin... you will most likely not have cell service! Yup... 0 bars for the entire week stay. 25min drive into Gatlinburg or Pigon Forge to do anything. Closest Walmart is 26min away. And it’s not the distance... it’s the slow mountain driving around winding roads that causes it to be 25min. We would 300% stay there again! The customer service staff was nice when they checked on us the day following check in. We had a short drive to the grocery store and downtown Gatlinburg. Overall, it was a great experience! Nice furniture, great entertainment systems, above average kitchenware (though could use a new frying pan or two), a very comfortable cal-king bed, an incredible shower, and a double vanity, to name a few things. Definitely has an updated feel. Being tucked away and isolated from the other cabins was just what we were looking for. And, again, the view was incredible. We also saw bears, right off the deck and on the driveway! There were just a couple things, though, that kept if from being perfect, the biggest being that you get a *lot* of road noise when out on the deck, especially during the day. So if you're looking for a truly, completely serene experience like we were, the noise is a disappointment. Granted ESR never claimed anything one way or another regarding noise, but it certainly caught us by surprise. We had our bluetooth speakers with us, so when we were out there we played music to help mask it, which worked well enough. The only other issue was that the grill wouldn't heat beyond 300 degrees. We managed to eventually cook our food on it regardless, but it was far from ideal. We called maintenance about it but it became clear that the response time wasn't going to meet our dinner needs given the food was already on the grill, so we ended up calling back and canceling the maintenance request. Despite these two things, we loved the place. If noise isn't a make or break issue for you, we highly recommend. We'll definitely be back. Wonderful website, spot on descriptions--including driving directions, good follow up and great communication. The cabin was ready early. It was clean and beautifully organized. We were really impressed with the cleanliness, especially the hot tub. It appeared brand new, it was so clean. Furnishings were adorable. We did experience some trouble with the remote for the living room tv, but who's there to watch TV? Our fire pit ran out of propane on night three, but we easily remedied the issue using the propane from the gas grill. The gas should have been checked prior to our arrival, but no biggie. The master bedroom door bolt to our deck and hot tub never worked, but again, no biggie. It's on the second floor and we always armed the house alarm. We reported these maintenance issues upon our departure. The only real complaint--this cabin is too close to I321. This is a very busy--and noisy two-lane road about 1/2 mile from the Ever After. So instead of listening to birds from our decks, we listened to car and truck traffic. Kind of a bummer. Next time we visit, we'll check for major roadways near our cabin. That being said, even though other cabins and guests were nearby, we felt secluded and enjoyed our privacy. All in all, a great trip. We'll return and book with Elk Springs Resort again." First of all, the only negative comments I have from the cabin is it's just a little further outside of Gatlinburg than I like, but nothing major. The primary downside of the cabin is the view is beautiful, but the highway is just in front of the cabin and it's very noisy. Again, nothing that can be helped, but the only downside I see to this cabin. As far as the cabin itself, I have stayed in cabins in the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area for probably 25 years, and this is the nicest one bedroom cabin that I've ever stayed in. Incredibly roomy, very clean, stocked perfectly. Hot tub was nice, fire pit was great, grill worked perfectly, etc. The design of this cabin is awesome. All in all, this cabin seems a little more expensive than others that I priced, but there is definitely more value in the cabin itself. We will definitely come back. We told her that there were scratch marks and she said yes sometimes people get to bring their pets for an extra fee. We told her Dan said there are no pets and now we are having health concerns now. No one called back. The tv was in and out and internet did not work. The place where they said to look for the router was not accurate. Some people will like where it is at because you are far from everything. I also asked Dan about this on the booking he said due to security concerns they could not tell me the location of the cabins. It was way too far for us to go to Gatlinburg every day. It is also very secluded, with only very minimal view of any other cabins in the area, so privacy was not an issue during our stay. We ran out of propane and requested another canister, which was delivered and installed within 20 minutes! The cabin is about 10-15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, which was preferable to us as the activity and traffic nearer Gatlinburg was not ideal for the relaxing vacation we were seeking. The only issue at the cabin was that the satellite TV feed would occasionally cut off on the TVs in the bedroom and bathroom. It seems to have been an issue with an HDMI cable since toggling the satellite input off and back on would resolve the issue for a time before ultimately returning. Not a huge issue since we spent most of our time in the upstairs living area and balconies or doing outside activities. We didn't take the vacation to watch TV. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone seeking a hassle-free, relaxing getaway for 2."
