We did see bears very close, fun to watch. The deck view of the Smokies is impressive. All systems worked great in the cabin and communication with Elk Springs was great also. Our extended family of 12 spent a great week at Misty Mountain Adventure Lodge.The theater room, game room and hot tub provided entertainment and relaxation for all of the adults, teenagers and little kids alike. We have been with another cabin company for years but Elk Springs is now our Go To cabin company. They were so helpful when I was booking, answered all of my many questions ( I need to give Dan a big shout out for this) and were so responsive when we were at the cabin. The day after we checked in, the Elk Springs staff called to check on us and make sure we were comfortable and if we had any questions. I didn't realize it at first but Elk Springs picks up the trash(no more hauling it down the mountain) and even when I forgot to call until late afternoon, they came out within a couple of hours to pick up! Also all of the beds were very comfortable (which was very important to us). I can't say enough good things about the beautiful cabin and the great cabin company." We had 12 of us staying with 3 being 7 and under, 3 teenagers, and 6 adults. Everything was clean and ready. We had no issues at all.The drive up wasn't bad, a few sharp uphill turns, but we had no difficulties getting to the cabin. It's close enough to get to all the attractions while still being far enough away from it all too. I would highly recommend." You can tell no was have been to this cabin in weeks. The cabin was very dirty, I had to call to have them come back and clean it. On Wednesday the water went over for many hours and they could not get an update on when the water would turn back on. They moved us to other cabin which was very outdated and very dirty. We left the next day and due to the issues. The company management company was responsive but could care less about our issues, I am an cabin owner myself in another market and this was not a good experience at all." Kitchen is stocked with a good supply of cutlery, dishes and cookware. Morning coffee on the deck with the fireplace on and the sun rising over the mountain is priceless. The mountain road is long and curvy with a few steep spots. We saw a few bears, mostly after dark. After an 11 hr drive we were disappointed check in was delayed 2 hrs. It takes a little extra time to get up the mountain on windy roads, but the view is totally worth it. Also just a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin had everything you would need (if you drink a lot of coffee you might bring a coffee maker there was only a single serve drip) and fit 14 people comfortably. The check in and check out process was smooth and the office was always available. I would definitely go back! Lots of cooking utensils and pots and pans. View was amazing very quiet area. Drive is steep but very manageable. Cons - Check in was suppose to be at 3pm receive numerous texts throughout the day that cabin was not ready but we were already on the road into our 4hr drive. We arrived at the cabin at 5pm and the cleaning crew had still not arrived. We could see through the windows beds unmade and dirty dishes on the table. We had to go to a restaurant and lost most of our food in the cooler. Finally received a text at 6pm that house was ready. Absolutely no way to clean a house that big in 45 mins.Got to the house dishwasher still running. Beds were not neatly made. Hot tub was never cleaned. There was a huge ring around the tub and black trash immediately bubbled up when we turned the jets on. House was beautiful and great view we even saw a mama bear and cub right in front of the cabin but a new cleaning staff with better time management is definitely needed " Aug 20, 2023 - , Greensboro, NC "Lovely property We had a great experience here, there were 11 of us (3 generations with grandparents and younger kids) and there were enough sleeping spaces and 4.5 bathrooms. The first floor is open to the kitchen with 2 full bedrooms with in-room bathrooms. It’s also wheelchair accessible. The road getting up to the property is really windy and can be narrow at times but this is why the view is gorgeous - I worry about road conditions in the winter. The house had quite a few maintenance issues like doors being jammed, but the management company was really easy to work with and someone came out right away to fix things - but we only had major things fixed, there was still an issue with one of the sliding doors to a bathroom that was hard to keep closed and the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms kept falling off. The views are gorgeous and the amenities were great for kids with the movie theater and pool table, hot tub and grill. A family of bears lives in the area. Overall I would recommend it." Overall the house had potential, but it was NOT clean and it was NOT kept up. First of all, the house is described as having a few “curvy roads” leading up to it. That is a gross understatement. The roads are treacherous, especially ascending. We canceled all late evening dinner reservations we had made, so we would not ever return to the cabin at night. The house is advertised as sleeping/accommodating 14, but there were not near enough supplies for that. There were only 5 dinner forks, 4 dinner knives, ONE WINE GLASS, etc. Really ridiculous. We had to drink our expensive bottle of wine out of coffee cups. The bathrooms were not clean. The rugs in the bathrooms were very stained. There was trash and used tissues in two of the bathrooms when we arrived. Two of the showers had a hair build-up on the drain cover, which I cleaned myself before using the shower. It was not enough, since the drain below the drain plate was clogged and the water in the shower got above my ankles while taking a quick shower. Gross! In all, two showers in the house did not drain. The beds were all very uncomfortable and the pillows flat and old. The bedspreads did not smell clean and had been sprayed with an oder remover that some low-end hotels use. There were boogers still on the sheets of my bed and there was candy on the floor under the nightstand. The window glass was very dirty looking out, there was no remote control to operate the main room TV. The fireplace was broken. One lamp had soda or something spilled all over the lamp and the shade. The sofa had 3-4 tears in the leather. E Every chair in the theatre room had ripped and torn upholstery. Most of the blinds in the house were broken and not operating well. The kitchen sink had coffee grinds in it when we arrived. The windowsill above the kitchen sink had dead bugs on it ....one windowsill had a piece of pasta on it. We had so many things go wrong with our five night trip and I was highly disappointed. The evening that we arrived one of the bedroom toilets was stopped up from prior renters and with the first use and we had to call maintenance. We realized none of the fireplaces were turned on for us to be able to use and that wasn’t able to be fixed till the following day. The downstairs bathtub was leaking from the base when used. Both the stand up showers had a good 6 inches of soap scum at the base of the showers. There were gnats the entire time we were there in the kitchen from the first day. The hot tub had a big scum ring around the top on the first time we got in it. The ceiling fan in the downstairs room wasn’t working and needed new batteries from maintenance. The power tripped and went out multiple times in different areas. Or time while my mother in law was in the theater room sleeping in the recliner using her oxygen. The thermostat had it to where you couldn’t set it lower than 70 and there were numerous times where it seemed to go back up on its own. We like to sleep cold so that was very frustrating. There was very minimal cooking supplies and what was there was scratched and needed to be replaced. It tells you after you book that there is starter supplies for you which ended up meaning we had one extra trash bag, two dishwasher tabs and one laundry packet. That was frustrating for a large cabin and five nights we obviously needed more and had to buy. I believe we needed up having to call maintenance out for the toilet, fireplaces, power outages about 8 times during our stay. I can honestly say out of all the vacation homes I’ve ever booked I have never paid this much, prior to this trip never had to call maintenance, never had dirty issues and never had such short supplies in the kitchen and basic cleaning needs. Only complaint is that the grill and oven did not keep a stable temperature which made it very hard to cook at home. We recently rented this cabin & had a wonderful time! We began booking our annual family cabin trips with Elk Springs Lodge over 5 years ago. We’ve stayed in a different cabin each time. We’ve been very pleased with Elk Springs & will continue to book our trips only through them, as we’ve rented with them enough to know that we’re in good hands when it comes to booking a cabin rental online. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this particular cabin...very spacious but you still feel the comforts of a home. Overall, the cabin was amazing. The views are breathtakingly beautiful. The cabin sits at the very top of a mountain...Just want to mention that there are very curvy roads leading up to the cabin & would suggest not arriving after dark for check-in day. The parking area is amazing & can easily fit 3-4 vehicles. Kitchen was very useful as we stayed in to cook most of our meals. *Cons: The gas grill(located outside) did not have enough gas for cooking & unfortunately, it wasn’t something we had thought about purchasing prior to our arrival. This could easily be considered fault of our own as the renter would be the responsible party to purchase an item such as that to use the grill. However, it would have simply been HELPFUL if we would have been notified & made aware prior to our arrival. Driving up the mountain to get to the cabin was a bit scary for me at first. I’m not use to driving on winding roads but the location, the view and the cabin was worth the drive. The scenery is amazing, breathtaking, the cabin is very clean and cozy it feels like home. The second day we just had issues with the living room tv not cutting on but once I contacted Elks Springs about the problem. Maintenance arrived within two hrs to solve the issue. In the kitchen the can opener was broken but other then that I didn’t have any maintenance issues. I highly recommend anyone to stay here the cabin looks exactly like the pictures an even more amazing in person. It’s worth the adventure. My friends and I did wanted to visit the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort to ski but the tickets were sold out due to the limitations and restrictions. So we ended up staying in the cabin the entire time admiring the view, cooking on the grill, enjoying the fireplaces, relaxing in the hot tub, playing pool and watching movies in the movie theater. Our trip was very calming and relaxing to just get away an turn off from the world. In the future I would definitely be renting this cabin again." It's absolutely beautiful. It's so large that it feels neverending and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. When you have 9 girls all getting ready at the same time, that's a big deal. We loved doing yoga on the decks in the morning, hanging in the hot tub at night, and utilizing the full kitchen for all of our meals. The drive up to the cabin is a little scary with lots of hairpin turns and very steep slopes. If you get car sick easily, I'd advise you to take ginger tablets any time you leave the cabin. We picked the perfect weekend to go - first weekend of November. When we arrived, the trees were mostly still green and by the time we left it was a full orange/red masterpiece. That view of the mountain from the living room and decks was absolutely breathtaking. We can't wait to come visit again!" Hot tub was dirty, had pollen or algae floating around the edges. The big kicker there was bugs(roaches) crawling up snd down the walls. We enjoyed coffee on the back porch with sweeping views of the smoky's every morning. I woke up stunned by the beauty and splendor every day. Never got old. We also really enjoyed playing pool, foosball and watching a family movie. Kitchen was beautiful and well stocked. Rooms had wonderful rustic decor. And we saw a bear and her 3 cubs multiple times which leant a lot of excitement and entertainment to our trip. I can't wait to revisit Misty Mountain Adventure. We had a party of 13. 6 adults and 7 kids. There was plenty of room for everyone. The location is also great 30 minutes to Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge. Now being a new cabin there’s not to many cons to this cabin. Now that being said there was a couple of things that need to be fixed like the upstairs shower the brick at the bottom to the door isn’t level so water just pores out. They need a new can opener lol I know odd but we went to use it and it was already broke. Those are the only things we had problems with! Everything else was great! The home was set up nice so that multiple families could access the cabin from both floors with ample parking. If only we had a pool but we may have had to share with the bears and the 3 cubs that lived nearby. The view was spectacular! The inside was so clean and fabulous, not one thing that wasn’t to our liking, and believe me, we are PICKKKKY! I love to cook, and I did just that. The kitchen had every thing I needed to cook for our family of 7. The guys loved the downstairs area which had the pool table and movie theatre. The ladies love the jacuzzi (which is beautiful to sit in during sunset). There was so much space and sleeping areas for everyone to be comfortable and have privacy. This was actually my first cabin experience, and I wish we had booked for more than 2 days. I would have indulged more into relaxing on the outside swings which are soooo beautiful! I actually plan to rent the property again this summer to treat my parents to a nice getaway. Loved this quick trip just wish we could’ve stayed longer and everyone agreed!
