The back of the cabin is floor to ceiling glass and the roof pitches up so you have unobstructed views of the Smokies from your high vantage point up in the hills. The Cobbly Nob area is quiet but it is about 15-20 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg, so if you want to be in the heart of it all, this is not the cabin for you. But if you don't mind driving a bit to things, and love peacefulness and views, then it's perfect. I am picky with cleanliness and I would say that the cabin met my expectations - not exceeded them. I noticed dust and a few bugs underneath rugs when we moved them to sweep up some crumbs my boys left on the floor. There were a few critters (mostly centipedes) here and there but I think that comes with being in the mountains. My biggest issue was with the beds. The linens were scratchy and didn't feel 100% clean (please invest in higher quality, smooth linens). Also the mattress and pillows did not have protectors on them - it was just the mattress and the sheets and the pillow and the pillow cover. Again this would be fine for most people, but given the amount of people that stay here I would invest in protectors to prevent bed bugs, etc. This grossed me out a bit. Also, it felt like they didn't wash the comforter between stays. I don't know for sure that they didn't clean it, but it was huge and wouldn't fit in the washing machine, so I assume that they don't take it out to be cleaned b/w visits. The extra blankets available didn't seem 100% clean either. Other than that, the cabin was tidy. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked in it several times. Laundry was great. Grill and hot tub were great. The one thing that irked me was when we arrived there was an envelope for a tip for the cleaning person. The cleaning fee was included in our stay. Would we stay here again? Yes. Would give it 5 stars were it not for the linens on the beds. Only thing to improve upon IMO." You do need to bring your own fire wood. There are a few local marts to stock up on wood and basic food items. The cabin is 15 minutes away from the strip of things to do (i.e. sky bridge, anakeesta, etc.). Staff were extremely helpful and available (responded quickly to texts). There is a stretch of uphill roads to get to this cabin but there is a flat driveway to park once you get there. Caught a glimpse of a bear on the way down on day 1. Overall, highly recommend! Definitely will be a cabin we will come back to and would recommend it to anyone. We had one maintenance issue with the hot tub when we first arrived. After we called them their crew arrived in a very timely manner about 1 1/2 hours later to fix the problem, no further problems occurred. It was our anniversary the week we were there and we went to The Greenbriar Restaurant for supper, little pricey but exceptionally good food and of course we had to visit Sugarlands and Old Smokies to taste their new flavors of moonshine. We usually come mid September but would like to visit late October early November to see the leaves in full color. We love to come back to the mountains to relax. May 31, 2022 - Stephen H., New Orleans, LA "Weekend Getaway Description of the location and layout were accurate. As mentioned by numerous reviews, the road to the cabin and driveway are a bit dicey. Not very friendly for larger vehicles. There were a few issues that we ran into during our stay BUT please note, has nothing to do with the property but with the property managers that we had dealt with during our short stay. First, we were given the wrong door lock code and couldn't reach anyone in the office. It was a good thing maintenance had arrived to make repairs to the hot tub. He was able to get a hold of someone in the office to get the correct code. Very professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and property. That evening we noticed the propane tank for the grill was empty. Informed management who said they'd have someone drop a new tank off, but, no one ever came. There were told that there was a burn ban in effect so we weren't able to use the fire pit. There were a few stains on the leather furniture and crumbs in the kitchen but for the most part the property was well maintained and clean. Aside for the hiccups, we had an amazing time! The view is just gorgeous and breath-taking! Loved waking up to the large picturesque windows! Cabin was beautifully decorated and welcoming. Kitchen was stocked and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. Shops and local eateries are nearby if you should forget anything. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and visited the scenic Gatlinburg Sky Bridge while in TN. An attraction to add to your bucket list! We also got to see a mama bear and her two baby cubs on our last day at the cabin. The memories we had created with our children at the cabin are priceless. We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends. Very homey, clean and welcoming. It is a two bdrm good for a couple. The only complaint I would have and it is not to do with this home but with area itself. There seem to be a lot of construction going on so there was a lot of big trucks and equipment to share with the narrow roads driving to and from this cabin in the mountain which was pretty nerve racking with people whom are not experiences with driving them. Also they had road closures due to the construction so we would have to turn around and go back to our cabin and start the over. I really liked how Elk Springs communicated with me thru text to my phone. Any question I had or anything I needed the were prompt. Definitely would stay here again. The pictures are an accurate depiction of this spectacular place. The home was spotless and comfortable. The view, the huge deck, amazing hot tub make this a perfect get away. We planned our day activities to allow us more time to get back in the evening to enjoy this beautiful space. As this is a resort rental, the cupboards are completely bare. Not even salt/pepper or coffee filters. The local markets are easy for a quick stop, but not conveniently located. Plan accordingly. Due to COVID, our European travel plans were put on hold. I did not regret this Gatlinburg cabin rental as our back-up plan! I give this a 10/10 rating !!" Within 15 minutes we were visited by bears, chipmunks, deer and woodchucks. We saw these animals almost daily. We stayed at the cabin for a week and spent 4 days in this cain without leaving it. We went back and forth a couple times only to be told the owner called me a liar and was adamant that there were 13 teenagers in the cabin. Waited an hour for maintenance to check to be told nevermind and to enjoy the stay. We had 6 in our party. Bad way to start the stay. Elk springs has some beautiful properties and the cabin was stunning. With that said, we will never book this particular cabin again. I don't like being called a liar and wasting time back and forth when the owner could have easily watched the cameras before making accusations. My husband and I rented this cabin for our honeymoon. Pictures truly don't do the mountain view justice. It snowed while we were there. Sitting in the hot tub while looking at these snow covered mountains was so beautiful and relaxing. Every morning, when we would walk into the living room and see the mountains, it was a "WOW!" moment. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could imagine needing during your stay, as far as kitchen tools go. They even had grill tools, and marshmallow/hot dog roasting wire sticks for the fire pit. The Elk Springs Resort Staff are very friendly and responsive to phone calls. If you call and decide to hang up while on hold, they will call back to make sure everything is ok. The cabin is well laid out and it is easy to unload and reload your car when you arrive/depart. I considered this cabin to be private. You do have neighbors, but they were far enough away to not be bothersome. It is about 12-13 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. Some things we enjoyed were Chesapeake's Seafood Restaurant and The Peddler Steakhouse. We took a helicopter tour in Pigeon Forge, toured Cade's Cove, got couple's massages at Fox Day Spa, and went to The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. I would definitely recommend this rental!" The cabin far exceeded our expectations! First off, the view is absolutely stunning! The pictures don't do it justice. The entire cabin was spotless, and you could tell it was newly built!
