When we arrived the indoor pool was cloudy which maintenance told us they were working on. We were unable to use it our first day but it was cleared up by the next evening. Management reimbursed me money for that first day. We enjoyed the size of the cabin for 12 of us. Was disappointed that the nearest grocery store was 20 minutes from us since it was mentioned that we were only 8 minutes from Food City which is by Gatlinburg. The cabins that were closer to Gatlinburg were more expensive. When looking for a cabin a person needs to take that in mind if you want to be closer to the activities in the Smokey Mountains. The hot tub jets were not working on one side but we still enjoyed using it. I think maintenance needs to be a little more thorough when inspecting things before somebody checks in. Overall the family was satisfied staying here and we had a good time together." The lighting on the back porch was super dim; luckily I brought a flashlight. The water pressure in the kitchen was very low, the water in the bathroom would splat out and water end up all on the floor, MOUSE drippings were in the drawer in the theater room, blonde strings of hair were on towels and the pool alarm was very frustrating understand it for safety reasons but any of the guests were able to enjoy the pool- suggest a better safety system. The tv in the living room was hard to setup; wasn’t able to utilize it w/ the small instructions provided. For the amount to stay each night, I feel like the owner should put money back into the cabin for better updates. For a total of $1500, I do not think I would return to stay again. No gas for the grill and none was brought until after 10:30 at night, after asking if we could go swap it ourselfs so we could grill our steaks, we could not fix them the following day because they informed us their was a burn ban and it could not be used. The pool was the biggest let down because that was the whole point of getting a cabin was for the kids to enjoy their private pool. We paid over $3800 for 4 nights , and the pool was not fixed during our stay. Hopefully it’s fixed for the next family that decides to spend their vacation their, We will take our chances at a hotel resort for that kind of money next time. We made the best of our stay but the pool was very disappointing seeing as it was the whole reason we rented the cabin in the first place. We thought the high price was worth it since it had everything to keep us entertained, including an indoor pool. We did have an enjoyable time with these amenities(pool, pool table, arcade, etc.) but I can't in good faith give an outstanding review when the price was so high and so many things were broken and it was unclean. As soon as we arrived we had to send the company a list of things that were broken (lamps, doors, blinds, shades, etc.). There clearly had been previous guests right before us who had been partying but the company did not bother to get the balloons that had risen to the ceiling and there was still trash on the back deck. We had to keep our shoes on because the entire floor was sticky. We feel like the cabin was not adequately cleaned before our arrival which was concerning with my immunocompromised child. This was surprising since they pushed off our check in (which was supposed to be 3) until around 6pm when I texted them to see if it was ready yet. Again, paying so much, much time was wasted the first day unable to take advantage of the things the cabin has to offer. How could check in be pushed off, yet the cabin was still unclean? We could have given a better review had the price not been so high. Extremely disappointing seeing as we had saved in order to do this. With this price point, the cabin should have been in great shape and most certainly clean. It was not clean nor well maintained. I could not recommend this cabin based on all of these things. I have asked them several times to send me pictures of the damages and they still have not. I have since filed a lawsuit and never plan on staying with elksprings cabins again." BUT there were a number of things that weren't great. First, the hot tub is MAX for 3 adults. It overflows at 2. The hot tub did NOT filter itself-- we had to call for it to be cleaned midweek because it was disgusting-- and we followed their rules (posted EVERYWHERE with threat of fines). The grill is also WAY too small for the number of people the cabin can sleep. Maybe an appropriate size for 4 people. Most importantly, there was a screw sticking out of the log at the bottom of the stairs. Multiple people got stuck/stabbed by this screw and a call to maintenance got us "we can't find it." We paid almost $6000. The property is very nice and was clean upon arrival. Negatives - There is No phone signal there. Have your pin code ready before approaching. There is very limited supplies like garbage bags, toilet paper. We are a family of 6 and were out of garbage bags on day 2. Even worse, the company expects you to fill the trash bins outside and call the trash company for pickup. That's insane considering what we paid. They supply no coffee either. To me, a $30 trash hotel gives you coffee for a day at least. The nearest full grocery store is 30 minutes away. There is literally NO place that delivers food so if you arrive past 7 pm, hit a drive through before arriving. There is a close small grocery about 5 minutes away that serves decent food in the morning and all day. They have minimal supplies like if you wanted to cook dinner. But they do have beer so that helped. The pool and hot tub were like 7 out of 10 clean upon arrival. We used them a lot the first few days. By day 4 they were visibly dirty and the hot tub smelled bad. I know how to care for them but they supply no chlorine tabs for the hot tub and the filter works poorly in the pool. Again, for the price, someone from the company should have came half way and taken care of that. Positives - The house has plenty of entertainment and wifi. The games and pool were enough to keep us busy almost the whole time we were there, minus the stank hot tub. Dollywood was fun, and there is plenty to do in Gatlinberg and pigeon forge, but they are quite a drive. All hills and turns for about 40 minutes so take a Dramamine." They only left us 2 kitchen towels and when I asked for more they said that we couldn’t have anymore so we bought those also. We weren't able to use the pool the first night because it needed shocked from the previous guests but the hot tub was clean and ready. The only thing that would be helpful is to have the pool alarm instructions on both sides of every pool entrance and maybe even on the email with the door codes because those things are deafening and can make you lose your ability to think quickly. I lived being away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy it when we wanted to." I have used elk lodge three times and this was definitely a bad one. The pool was unusable the first two days due to maintenance, and the hot tub didnt work, toilet tank overflowed, water and ice on fridge didnt work, front door latch didnt work right and jammed so younger kids couldnt come in without us running to open it every time for them. There was a thick green mold on the cutting boards in kitchen. Management was supposed to give discount due to pool issue and never called back. Also left message for them to call so i could report maint. issues. they never called back!!. They did try to relocate us 45 min to arrival due to pool issue, but the only other cabin had construction next to it and the amenities were not the same, so we went to original cabin. This experience left me with a sour taste and i dont think i will use elk springs again. Especially with the lack of follow thru from management!! Im sure they will give a eloquently worded response to set your mind at ease. You decide if your hard earned money is worth all these issues...You should not have to call maintenance every day and have them under your feet repairing everything while you are on your RELAXING vacation. It was perfect for our family and the pool was PERFECT to keep the kids entertained. The rooms are VERY spacious and with the exception of the twin bunk bed (the bottom is SUPER tight), we were all happy with our bed options. I don't have any complaints with this cabin and would happily come back for a weekend again. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze as well."
