THE CONDO

Nautilus provides private beach access directly from the property to the public beach on Okaloosa Island. No street crossing is required to reach the beach.

- Beach Gear, Already Packed for You: No need to haul heavy gear from home - Nautilus 1506 comes equipped with two extra beach chairs, a cooler, and a beach tote.
- COMPLIMENTARY BEACH SERVICE: Beach service provided by our beach vendor includes two beach chairs and one umbrella with paid stays of 14 days or less from March 1 through October 31. Your setup is guaranteed, but the specific location on the beach is not.
- Vendor Rentals: Kayaks, paddleboards, extra setups and reserved locations can be rented directly from the vendor on the sand.
- Beach Access: Nautilus provides private beach access directly from the property to the public beach on Okaloosa Island.
- Property Access: On-site private access is stairs-only.
- ADA Access: An accessible public ramp is available immediately next door.

Payment and Cancellation Policy for booking direct through Nautilus Condominiums - If you booked through an online travel agent (AirBNB, VRBO, etc), the payment and cancellation policy of the platform applies. A $250 advance payment is required at the time of booking for a reservation to be valid. The final balance is due 30 days prior to check-in. If we have not received another form of payment 30 days prior to your check-in date, your credit card will be charged automatically. Cancellation of rentals that are made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date will forfeit $250. If you cancel within 30 days of your arrival, you will forfeit 100% of the total reservation amount. If renter must shorten their stay within 30 days of arrival or after checked in, no refunds will be provided for the nights not used. Long term guests (28 days or longer) - must pay 1st months rent 60 days prior to arrival and must cancel at least 60 days prior to arrival or will forfeit 100% of total reservation amount. We encourage guests to buy Travel Protection Insurance to protect themselves. Once you are within 30 days of check in there are no moving dates, nor moving units. No refunds will be given for late arrivals, early departures, or cleaning and maintenance concerns. If present and reported, all cleaning or maintenance concerns will be corrected promptly.

The Nautilus is one of our go to rentals on The Gulf. Okaloosa Island is not crowded and close to food and entertainment. The Nautilus Rental experience was outstanding, fantastic communication. Amenities unlike most outside rental services. The condo 1506 was well kept, clean and spectacular views from wrap around balcony. Staff was beyond helpful."

Met friends who had rented another condo for the same time period. Great location. Beware of various outdoor maintenance usually being done in the fall which can be noisy. Gave 4* for overall cleanliness but discussed how the living room couch needs replaced for more comfort. Possibly label light switches. We never did figure out how to turn on the bedroom fan/light fixture."

"Wonderful, needs tweaking
Overall, satisfied with our stay. The beach and local restaurants did not disappoint! The Nautilus is looking a bit old and run down. A bare foot walk in the hall or unit balcony will leave the bottom of your feet black. The unit’s en suite bathroom shower had thick shower grim-soap scum and bad repair of the wall around the toilet paper holder. With that being said, we are looking forward to coming back next year! "

"Unit 1506
The unit was pretty however there are a few things. Need more lights in the living room area. The master best ceiling fan did not work and needs repair but we didn’t need to use the fan. The toilets need to be replaced with higher one especially for tall or senior people. Could use a pizza pan and air fryer in kitchen. The unit was non smoking but I did not know the grounds were not. The beautiful unit balcony could not be enjoyed by us in the afternoon due to other units smoking on their balconies. So this is a deal breaking for future visits for us. I would only recommit individuals that don’t mind smoking."

"Relaxing vacation
The condo was clean and nicely decorated. The bed in master bedroom was very comfortable, probably the best mattress I have slept on in a rental. The kitchen was very limited as for as cooking utensils go but had enough to get by. The air conditioner worked great but you will need to keep the fan on “ON” to get a n even temperature in the bedroom. The balcony was great and had a great view of the beach, we really enjoyed eating breakfast and drinking our coffee in the morning out there. The elevator is slow but worked well. The condo being right on the beach was so nice to be able to go set up our tent and then come back up for lunch without having to pack it all to the beach the day. The shower is very nice the double sink in the master bathroom is great for two people getting ready at the same time. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to book this condo again in the future! "

"Wonderful Stay
Wonderful stay at Nautilus. Facility is clean and the location is perfect. Having Beach umbrella service daily is a huge plus for our stay. Gerilynn at the front desk is absolutely amazing. She is attentive and quick to be helpful in every way. We have stayed her 4 times now and certain if we go back to area it will be a 5th time. Condo are clean and wife feels very safe staying here. We have done Ocean front and Ocean view and we enjoy both with the added bonus of sitting on deck each night listening to sound of water. Location is fantastic as it removes you from the hustle and bustle of being in Destin. Elevators are a little slow but this is certainly not a dealbreaker for us. We had yet another Wonderful Stay "

"Restful and Relaxing
I love sunrises and sunsets. The master bedroom in l the perfect spot to watch beautiful sunrises and watch the waves while having coffee in bed. The balcony is perfect for sunsets and an evening cocktail. The condo was clean and had all the comforts of home. The guest in the second bedroom was comfortable with the twin beds although we thought the room had a full bed. This property was in the prefect spot for beach hopping. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the near future. "Love our Nautilus but you can do better.
This is our 6th time staying at Nautilus. We love the property and the location. We were disappointed this time because this unit has recently been renovated but the condition was dirty. The sofa had stains all over it. the sheets for the bed were scratchy. The pillow had to be at least 5 years old. They were totally flat. I had to get cleaning supplies at the store to clean the shower. We were told that the season was winding down and they clean the furniture then. It's a shame that all of the hard work that went into the reno is being wasted by the upkeep. This unit needs a deep clean. Every time we come down the elevator is broken. "

"Amazing condo and balcony
This was our second stay at Nautilus. My wife and I stayed in condo 1505 back in 2015 and loved the staff and views so much we decided to stay again August 29 - September 2 of 2021. This time we had two younger children. We decided to stay in condo 1506. Condo 1506 was amazing. Plenty of room for a family, large balcony and very clean and updated. Although we didn’t get to swim much due to Hurricane Ida, this condo felt like home away from home. You will not be disappointed in this condo."

I loved the rental. 2 complaints...the ice maker in fridge did not work and 1 towel for each person was not enough. I realize you don't want a lot of dirty towels but there were 4 of us. It would have been nice to have at least 2 each so you did not have to run to dryer each day before you took a shower."

Great visit to Fort Walton Beach! Condo was perfect for our needs, clean and well-maintained. Property management people were very nice to work with and friendly. Old Bay Steamer was a favorite for drinks or dinner. Stewby's Seafood Shanty [Ft Walton Beach] Slippery Mermaid Sushi Bar [Navarre], Tommy Bahama happy hour [Sandestin], Boshamps and McGuire's Irish Pub [Destin] were delicious! Only drawback is very heavy traffic through and in Destin. Many restaurants do not take reservations or call aheads and have long waits if you go for dinner. Be sure to check out the beach towns on 30-A...well worth the nice drive. Enjoy!"

"Amazing Beach View
March 2021 (Spring Break). Check in was fast and easy. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were adequate. The pull out couch was ok for smaller kids but I would not suggest adults use it. There was only utensils in the kitchen, no condiments what so ever (not even salt and pepper), so be prepared to bring/buy what you need. The sea decorations are a nice touch but not if you have smaller kids around. Kids loved the heated pool, especially after the beach as it was cold. Our favorite spot was the balcony and the amazing beach view. The condo was a little farther away from the main area than we had thought however that's good, so you are away from the traffic. "

Condo was very dirty when we arrived. There was a used sponge on the sink, open soap in the bath tub, a pill left by the bed in the master bedroom. The location was wonderful and amenities were nice. If management had resolved or even responded to my email with pictures of the condo, I might have considered returning, but I got no response. "

"Sad End of a Tradition
This stay was very disappointing. The last straw for me was the railing installation that was ongoing during our stay.. Management notified us about the railing work one day before out trip. After 30 years staying at the Nautilus my family and I have decided to find another condo complex for our vacations."

"Unbelievably Bad....Totally unit 1506 should not have been rented
The unit was dirty....dirt literally hanging off the ceiling fans. The unit had not been painted or freshened up in years...doors and woodwork not even one color; badly stained..The bed headboard in master bedroom was up against one sliding door to the balcony. The linens and bedspread were stained. Construction work above, below and all around us, with drilling into the concrete...the noise level was way beyond a jet engine sound.,.could not talk to each other. Couldn't use the deck as it was covered in dust. The owner decided to charge us, (with tax) over $190 for the 3 nights we managed too stay plus the $200 downpayment. This is without a doubt the worst place we have ever been. The owner was not fair and should have reduced her fees to much less Than almost $800 for 3 nights (less than 2 full days) considering the unhealthy environment"

"Nice unit but...
This unit is updated nicely but the upkeep by property management was neglectful. The location was ideal near the lifeguard on the beach. However, inside when we stayed there for a week we dealt with dirty air vents, sliding doors that would not open, ants, and dirt under furniture. One of the two elevators did not have air in the heat of the summer. Unfortunately we will not stay on this property again. "

We loved this condo! It was clean & well stocked. It even had beach toys & chairs for our use. We highly recommend & will definitely stay there again. We’ve stayed at the Nautilus several times & have always had excellent experiences. I really love that the beach is right there! Also, if you forget anything or need groceries, there is a Tom Thumb next door. No need to fight the Walmart or Publix crowd."

My family and I had a wonderful 2nd year visit at the Nautilus. We had a beautiful condo beach front views. The moment we walked into the condo and could see the beautiful water from the moment we opened the door we felt as though we found a piece of heaven. The condo was clean, cozy, and the deco complemented the beach so perfectly. We will be returning again! We already can’t wait to be back. We will choose 1506 as our return condo. A home away from home. Only problem we had was the Internet in our unit wasn't working as well as the plug on the balcony. I never reported the plug on the balcony but the tech did try to get the Internet to work and almost beat me back to my room to get it done."

Our stay at the Nautilus was a wonderful vacation! However, we were disappointed due to the numerous broken items in the condo when we arrived. The handle on the bedroom sliding door was completely off the door and placed under a table when we arrived. The pull string to the ceiling fan was completely detached upon arrival. The sliding door in the master bedroom was completely unusable because it had no handle nor would it slide without force. The kitchen sink was clogged and smelly from the moment we arrived through departure. The coffee maker never worked, the water leaked out each time we tried to use it. Despite this, Linda in the front office was wonderful and we love the Nautilus as a whole. This was our 4th year staying with you and we will return next year."

Glass table on deck was broken (later repaired) and the ice machine in the kitchen does not work. Otherwise, we enjoyed another stay at the Nautilus. We have been staying here (for at least a week) most years since 1990 and always enjoy the condo and the location."

"A Little Piece of Paradise!
Our stay at Nautilus Condominiums was exactly what we hoped for! I had heard about Destins fabulous white sand beaches and a friend recommended Nautilus as the perfect place to stay. It was axactly as described and pictured. We could not have been happier and we cannot wait to return next summer!!! The only thing we would change in our unit (1506) is the height of the commodes. They seemed very low to the ground. And we would like to have seen the master bed located on the opposite wall so the we could have enjoyed the corner view from the master bedroom."

"Just perfect
This is my 4th time to stay at Nautilus and every time I've stayed in a different unit. All rooms have been amazing. Updated and very clean. I love how this unit has lined curtains in the bedrooms and loved the large balcony. The only thing I was disappointed about was when I was coming back from the beach one day I found the maintenance man inside my unit changing air filters. I would've liked to have been warned about that. Other than that our stay couldn't have been better. "
