"Great place for a Getaway
The location was perfect in the Sea Pines area, close to Harbour Town, South Beach, and the beach. A little older kitchen, but everything worked, and we had a great long weekend."

"Christmas Vacation
The location is great and the bedroom/bath setup was perfect for our family of 8 guests.
The house itself needs some updating especially the kitchen. We had to call for maintenance twice during our week stay and the response time was awesome and both issues were taken care of.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay at 1 Deer Run Lane."

"Great vacation!!
We had a great time in Sea Pines. This house was perfect for a group 7. The layout of the house was perfect and the location was fantastic. 5 minute bike ride to the beach! We rode all around Sea Pines and saw so much wildlife! The beach chairs and bikes were a huge bonus and we used them daily. The kitchen was well equipped. The house was pretty clean-a few spider webs but over all not bad. Our only real issue was the beds and bedding. All of the beds were very uncomfortable (hard) and the bedding was very uncomfortable. A few extra pillows and blankets would have been nice. Island Rental was very helpful and quick to respond. I would definitely use them again!"

"Great home away from home
We spent the month of February in the home and it was very comfortable. Plenty of space, beds were comfortable, and all the bathrooms were in nice condition. The kitchen definitely could use some updates but had the basics.
The location was wonderful. We used the bikes to go to lunch at Harbourtown and Sea Pines Shoppes and took many walks to the beach with our pup.
I would recommend 1 Deer Run Lane."

"Review of 1 Deer Run Lane from 7/22/23-7/29/24
Upon arrival it was evident that the grounds needed attention and in fact while I was there the HOA advised the owner to spread Pine needles on the entire property as required.
1st day- AC not operating. Outside temps 95-100 degrees.
Contacted manager and AC repair came within 1-2 hrs.
The same evening my family discovered sand in the sheets under the quilt indicating the home was not properly & thoroughly cleaned.
Cleaning crew returned to change sheets and clean. In full disclosure the cleaning fee was credited back to me.
The home, particularly the kitchen & bathrooms have not been updated for decades. The kitchen appliances were dated, 70 or 80’s, and broken appliances were left in place. The cabinets were extremely dated.
When questioned about it management stated that the only reason pets are allowed and the price was so low (approx 6k with fees) was because it was not updated. Island Rentals as the owners agent should request updating and select better cleaning crew services. "

"Nice family getaway
Property description on the website is accurate. Enough space for the people advertised. Overall property was clean, just in some spots the details were missing.
Beds, linens and sheets in excellent condition. Kitchen equipment is basic, some items like can opener etc missing. All appliances incl. grill worked as desired. Location very nice, only a short walk (approx. 10 min) to the beach. Free bikes therefore come in very handy, that really allows you to move around. Property is in a safe, well maintained neighborhood. Make sure to verify that additional car passes are provided from rental company in case you need more than one, they only accept cash at the gate. Will definitely book again. "

"Loved our stay!
We had a wonderful time at this home! The property is beautiful and spacious. The fact that bikes and extra chairs were provided were a great plus. The walk to the beach was about 8-10 min, but obviously faster if you're on a bike. I do agree with some other reviews about the cleanliness of the home but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. "

Overall, a nice place for our family vacation. We loved having the bikes included with the rental.
Beds were comfortable.
Kitchen could use a few more utensils.
Rugs at the doors would help control the sand that gets tracked in.
It was tricky to find after dark since the address provided takes you to the side of the house that has no door (sits on a corner).
Could use a little maintenance around ceiling air ducts in the living rooms. "

"Rough Start & Fantastic Experience in the End
We arrived from the NE for a month-long stay on Hilton Head. The property was tidied up but not fully cleaned when we arrived. The previous guests were obviously clueless or couldn't care less about the appropriate care of a rental.
Island Rentals immediately worked with us to rectify the situation. From then on we had a wonderful stay at 1 Deer Run and will be back next year. The responsiveness of Island Rentals of Hilton Head us to rent with professional property management in the future."

"Beautiful getaway
Adult only family trip to Hilton Head for an early Christmas celebration. The house is wonderful with plenty of space. The driveway and front door face Old Military Road and not Deer Run Lane (the address). I am glad I arrived during daylight to be able to find the right driveway and front door. And the house is missing a few amenities such as a corkscrew, scissors, hair dryer. We thoroughly enjoyed Sea Pines and all the trails. And allowing dogs to run free on the beach. "

"Great location and layout, but in need of a new cleaning person
Excellent location, and the set up of the house was perfect for us, The house itself was dirty. There were cobwebs in the corners, and the floors, which were newly installed, were gritty from not being cleaned after the install was completed. The windows were so dirty that I cleaned them myself. We contacted the property management company, and in their defense I have to say, everything was taken care of, and repaired or replaced, or cleaned within 2 hours of contacting them."

House was great. Enough bedrooms, bathrooms and separate living spaces for people to spread out. There were 8 of us. House needed some updates but this made it a more affordable option for us and was more then OK. Very close to bike trails and great location between them major HH attractions (Salty Dog, Harbor Town, Beach Club, stables). Would definitely stay here again !"

"House Needs Updates/Deep Cleaning
This house is spacious, but extremely run down. The furniture in the living rooms has reached the end of its life and brings the whole down. It's ratty and uncomfortable. The kitchen is straight out of the 1970's - literally, a few updates would make a huge difference. Shelves in the fridge were broken and left on top of the cabinets - for how many rental periods, who knows? The 4th bedroom is a garage addition - it's attached bathroom has a door that opens to the outside with nothing but a button lock on the door - no deadbolt - light and heat pour in through the poorly fitted door. The entire garage addition is hot and humid. The whole place is stained with animal detritus. The showers and tubs don't drain properly and are permanently mildewed. This was once a lovely house in a lovely spot - the owners need to take some time and a little money to update it."

"Sea Pines vacation house for the family
Awesome house for a group. 2 large living areas and great kitchen to cook in. 4 bedrooms along with 2 outdoor sitting areas. Plenty of space for 6 people with dog. Location great-easy bike ride to Harbor Town and South Beach area which is dog friendly. Bikes and chairs were in good shape and available at the house. Tennis at racquet club, cycling everywhere and visiting Tower Beach were all great. Overall, awesome trip."

"A Good Value and Location
Had a great stay. Location enabled us to ride bikes (included��) to beach in 5 minutes. Walking/biking paths were steps from property, and close to Harbour Town and South Beach as well. It is an older house but was clean, roomy, comfortable beds, etc... Pet friendly too! Would rent again."

"Family Christmas vacation
Experience was excellent. The house was located such that we could ride bikes to the Salty Dog for lunch, or to Harbour Town to the lighthouse and shopping, and even rode the trails on our bikes to the middle of Hilton Head to get on the beach and to the Art and craft place for kids to do crafts on the one rainy day. Overall worked out great. Accommodations were perfect, beds were comfy, screened in porch was great place for morning coffee. Had to do a little sweeper duty as the couches and chairs hadn't been swept under for a while. Pretty dirty, but vacuum worked fine."

"Dissatisfied. Needs pest control and a deep clean.
When first arrived our sea pines passes were not in the box like we were told the would be. This forced us to spend and additional $44 just to access the home. We have yet to receive a refund for that but was told we would be refunded. The home was plenty big enough for my party of 7. The bikes and beach chairs were a nice addition. However we spent the whole first night cleaning due to spider webs everywhere, spiders, and ants (kitchen sink area). Mold in the master shower kept the cleaning going and by midweek we found more spiders. A few in my family couldn’t relax on the vacation and cleaned the entire time. We were disappointed because we wanted to relax and looked forward to going home to rest in our own home. We stopped by to let the company know about the issues mid week but never heard back from them. Not what we expected for that kind of money. "

"Nice house, needs some cleaning
My family of 10 enjoyed the spaciousness of the house along with its beautiful location. The 4 bikes and chairs at the house were perfect. We did, however, find that the house could use a good cleaning. On the surface it was fine, but cobwebs could be seen on the ceilings and corners and windows; trash from previous occupants (water bottles, candy wrappers, clothing tags, large dust balls) were found under furniture and between furniture and walls in multiple rooms; and the enclosed patio furniture was dirty so we didn't use it. We also found a few ants on the kitchen counters and daddy long leg spiders on the walls and ceilings. Overall,it was a nice house with great amenities."

"Perfect house for 4 couples
This house gives you plenty of living space as well as your own private bath for each bedroom. The kitchen needs a little tender loving care and some updated appliances are needed. But overall it's a really nice experience master bedroom is fantastic. The bikes and the beach chairs needed to be cleaned before we could use them. We also had some issues with spiders in the house. And the porch furniture needed some new cushions."

" A wonderful stay
We had a 10 plus holiday. Home was perfect for the two families traveling together. It was clean and so close to the beach and all amenities. I would love to go back. Only issues were that the bbq didn't have propane and the oven door doesn't close. WE had to butt up a chair next to it so that all the heat didn't escape. Also more than one dishtowel would be nice. Other than that is was heaven. thanks!"

"A break from the cold!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was exactly as described. Lots of room to spread out, and had most things you need. I did have to contact the manager about an iron, and he was very quick in getting it to me. I ended up getting some minor things like dish towels for the kitchen, so maybe a more thorough check of the house could happen before the renters arrive.
The furnishings in the house were great. Really liked the mattresses on the bed.
The location of the house in Sea Pines is perfect. Quiet neighborhood made walking and biking a pleasure. It’s very close to the walk/bike trail, and not far from South Beach, Harbor Town, and the Sea Pines beach club. (What a nice surprise to see the beach club completely renovated! The last time we were there it was just before the renovation.)
I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family."

"4 Bedrooms & 4 Bathrooms give you a lot of flexibility
With 5 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 preschoolers we needed a lot of flexibility in the house and we had it. We could walk to the beach, the weather was good and we had a great time. They installed a new microwave for us when the one in there didn't work."

"Dissatisfied senior ladies trip
The rental property needs updating ,especially the kitchen(stove,cooktop,toaster oven,& coffee pot), needs pot holders & colander!!! Lizards running around everywhere!!! The yard is in very bad shape!!! No curb appeal at all, neighbors are probably embarrassed for this house to be in there upscale neighborhood������. Our group of 8 senior ladies will not be back until the owners do some updating & landscaping to this property!!! Inside needs an interior decorator's touch!!!"
