"Nice place but Needing Maintenance and Updating
The location, ocean view, and rear porch is fantastic. However, property needs to be updated and maintained. Beds where very comfortable.
Shower curtain rods and hooks need to be replaced.
current ones fell off the shower wall.
Back door lock needs work to lock properly. Back door curtains need replacing or rod modification.
Kitchen silver ware and pans need updating. Burnt out lights need replacing. 2 Front bedroom curtains need black out curtains due to outside porch lights shining right into bedrooms. Master bath drain is clogged.
We own 2 STRs in Fredericksburg, it is extremely important to maintain your property. Also go buy some silverware and pans. Spend $25 to $50. to make this happen.

"Run down, but still ideal for the price
The place was ideal because it's on the beach, it has a pool, it is 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, and it isn't as expensive as others with those specs. So I'd definitely stay there again.
That being said, it did smell bad, the exterior of the fridge was gross, there were dying cockroaches in the bathroom when we arrived, and the pillows were old and dirty looking with pillow cases that didn't fully cover them (yuck!). Also, communication about the stay was too impersonal to be accommodating. For example, you were told that check in was at 4pm, but that you'd receive a text if it was ready earlier. But you got no heads up about the chances that it would be ready earlier. So if you were driving, you either had to risk being in Port Aransas several hours before you had anywhere to go, or you had to get a text saying it was ready when you were still hours away! I would have loved to have known there was a chance, even if it wasn't a guarantee, that it would be available earlier. "

"Below standards but great location
We have stayed at GC before but in a different unit so we know what a great experience it can be. This unit however was VERY DISAPPOINTING. From the clogged toilet, moldy kitchen AC vent, missing light cover in bathroom, filthy carpet, stained furniture and limited and beat up kitchen utensils the unit cost far exceeded its cleanliness and comfort. There also used to be a tar removal station by the hose along the walkway and that is no longer there. There was a lot of tar on the beach and on our feet and no cleaning station so it was transferred onto our shoes. Luckily there was lighter fuel under the sink and that helped to take it off. Also, two dishwasher pods is NOT enough for a 4 day stay! There is only small sample sized body wash and shampoos provided which is not enough for a 4 day stay and 4 people. The unit we stayed in before had dispensers of body wash and shampoo, was immaculate and had a fully stocked kitchen. We will not be returning to this unit !"

"Lackluster
I will first state that we've stayed at this property in the past and had a wonderful experience. The property itself is walking distance to the beach, has a nice pool, great views of the ocean, and is close to town but far enough away from crowds.
We decided to upgrade from our normal 2 bedroom stay to a 3 bedroom. This was the only 3 bedroom available when we booked, and with minimal photos and reviews, we took a chance and booked this condo. In my opinion, this condo is not ready for guests, especially given the price. It's very outdated, minimally decorated, and has glaring issues including a rusty refrigerator with a note stating it can't cool more than 10 drinks at a time, a leaking guest toilet, noticeably worn and old carpeting, and incredibly scratched and warped cookware, to say the least. There are no curtains in the guest bedrooms, so it difficult for our young children to nap during the day. The living room furniture is uncomfortable but the beds were decent. If you're looking for a nice family vacation I would avoid this condo and book something else on the property. This condo needs to be greatly discounted or majorly upgraded. "

"View is Perfection-Condo needs to be updated
We've stayed at this condo multiple times in previous years, hadn't been in a few years. This was probably our last. The view is amazing, the location is perfect, getting to beach couldn't be better. BUT inside of the condo needs SO MUCH HELP. Drapes and blinds are falling apart. The carpet is D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G (probably original when condo was built) - a total deal breaker!!! It's dirty, moist, clumps of hair, and left our bare feet dirty after walking on it. I don't blame the cleaning company for this, I think they did the best they could with what they had and everything else was clean. They need a new A/C the humidity inside the condo is higher than outside. Light canisters are rusted. DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE for this rental, if you can get it at a super discount, don't mind dirty feet and won't be in it much then maybe. "
