Description |
Elegant stone counter tops, a stunning Caribbean style master bedroom, stylish tile floors and spectacular ocean front living gives this unit the feel of a luxurious island resort. Not to mention, that ocean front view can’t be beat and being on the quiet side of the building, it's a great getaway! This condo has been renovated with an enlarged kitchen for spacious convenience and new cabinets in the kitchen as well as stainless-steel appliances and a full sized washer and dryer make this your home away from home! The primary bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed and the guest bedroom has queen size bed and a twin size bed! The smaller third bedroom, known as the “Crow’s Nest,” has one twin bed.
All the condos are equipped with private WIFI and have TVs in the living room, master bedroom, and second bedroom. We provide initial toilet paper, trash bags, bath soap, and dishwasher powder. Guests are advised to bring supplementary items if needed.
Take advantage of the recreational opportunities of this private gated community, including a large oceanfront pool, children's playground, two tennis courts with pickleball court lines, and a basketball hoop. Our indoor amenities include a heated pool, dry sauna, racquet ball court, and fitness center.
The beautiful, white, sandy beaches are just a two-minute walk from buildings 1 and 2 and a three-minute walk from building 3. The beaches are accessible by car with just a short drive north to the Dondanville Road Access.
Only a 15-minute drive away is historic downtown Saint Augustine, where there is no shortage of shopping, dining, or fun activities for people of all ages. Check out the towns many historic attractions or hop on the Trolley’s to see it all on the go! You can purchase tickets to many of Saint Augustine’s attractions here in the office!
Saint Augustine has no shortage of kid friendly entertainment! Check out the Alligator Farm or the Lighthouse and Maritime Museum here on the island or head downtown for the Pirate and Treasure Museum or Potter’s Wax Museum for some good old fashion family fun!
In the months of June and July we offer a variety of daily on-site food trucks by the pool and weekly movie nights on the lawn!

"Family Vacation May 2025
This is a nice property and the view was very great. The description of the condo makes you think that this unit has been remolded. Please don't be fooled by that. The furniture is not comfortable, the sofa is hard and the beds have some type of foam top which made it hard to turn over. It is look is outdated for the most part with wallpaper that has split and is pulling apart at the seams. I feel that the entire place needs a deep cleaning. The kitchen looks nice, but does not have good equipment. The pool was very nice, but I can't understand why it was never vacuumed the entire week so basically, the bottom was full of sand. The people in the office were nice to deal with. "

"Spectacular view
We enjoyed our getaway and stay at the Gold Oceanfront 1201. The views were amazing and the location was perfect for us. The short walk to the beach was very convenient. We were able to enjoy all of the amenities!!"

Beautiful condo! Lots of room. Very comfortable. Recommendations for hooks on the backs of the doors in the bathroom and in the bedrooms. The small bedroom was very small and not a lot of storage. Just a suggestion that maybe you could make more storage possible."

"I got duped
The pictures do not acurately reflect the condition of the unit. It's straight out the 80's. In fact the furniture in the TV room/breakfast area is completely different. The place is very dated and is in need of a deep clean. Bedrooms and bathrooms need renovating. Kitchen is up to date and well stocked, although most dishes needed a prewash before use. Door access is old school lock and key. Slat blinds are breaking in LR and Master. Closet door in master broken. Fan in master noisey--thank God for the box fan in the closet. Bathroom fans are disgusting and noisy. Overall it's livable for a few days, just not what we expected based off of the pictures. Even had to tell management that the elevator inspection had expired a month ago. Best part was being able to drive onto the beach. It's a loooonng boardwalk from the condo to the beach."

"Colony Reef
Everything was nice. The condo was clean and spacious. It was nice to have an extra bedroom. The view was beautiful. It was nice to sit on the large balcony and hear the waves crash. The pool and hot tub were always clean. We were able to play ping pong and racquet ball as we had a tropical storm. Would definitely come back again. It would have been nice to have some beach towels and some basic toiletries. The area was close to restaurants and historic St Augustine. "

"1201 Nightmare
First off we loved the grounds a amenities, and view. Unit 1201 has a lot of issues. Very outdated, the ceiling fan in master bedroom made a roaring sound and couldn't be used at all. The light above the master bed flickered like a candlelight and put off hardly any light at all. Had to use cell phones to navigate in the dark. The light above the shower worked when it wanted to, The dishwasher we felt was about to catch on fire as it was running through its cycle even the countertops were hot to touch. The loudest washing machine that I have ever heard in my life, and we had to have someone clean as there was nasty filth under every bed, the couches, behind the TV desk was close to a half inch high, the toilet sprayed water out of the wall all over us and our belongings, there is no lights other than lamps in the living room nor a ceiling fan. We felt as if we were trapped in the '60s. We contacted the front desk numerous times and they were very helpful in getting some of these issues resolved. To the owners and future renters of 1201 I would give the owners some advice of fixing the unit up and putting more recent pictures on the internet. To future renters we would like to forewarn you that along with your family you may want to bring a cleaner, a plumber, and an electrician. The front desk was so helpful they did give us our cleaning deposit back although we tipped the lady they hired to come in after our arrival. The pool was awesome, the dunes were great, and the beach was not crowded. It felt like I was at work while on vacation trying to stay on the telephone, explain what was going on, and we were also after 4:00 on arrival getting checked in which ultimately cut into our vacation time somewhat. Desk workers were very courteous and helpful as best I could. I would not recommend 1201 to anybody. We have contacted and would love to stay there again but you could pay us to stay in this particular unit"

"Great staff, nice facilities
Our air conditioner was brown when we checked in, unbeknownst to the office. We realized it after the office closed and the next day was Saturday. They got someone out who want able to fix but they did give us a portable air conditioner and credit for the inconvenience. Facilities were very nice. Easy access to the beach with indoor and outdoor pools. View from our room was great as well. And the staff was great "

"Family stay at Colony Reef Club
This is a lovely property in a beautiful location. The condos are a bit tired and need a deep cleaning. It seems the maintenance staff is overwhelmed and could use a few more staff members. All in all it's a wonderful place for a family vacation but could use an update in the condos. Our family rented 7 units and we shared this opinion. How about a crockpot and some decent knives? Nice folks in the office. Owners, stay in your own condos as a guest please. "

"Larry Davis 1201
This is our 6th year as a family vacation in the colony reef. Very pleased as always. Only problem is I tried to register for next summer with our friend in 1203 and there was a problem. We were told at the front office that the rental for a week next summer will be $5000. That is too much as I am a retired educator and this is out of my budget requirements. Please let me know if this is the correct price or I will not be able to continue our family summer vacation next year."

"Could be better
Overall, the place was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a sign that states you can’t turn the AC below 72.When it is 90-100 degrees outside, this is warm and there are no fans. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not work. I had to go buy 2 fans. No fan on the balcony. Rules and signs are posted everywhere. I began to fell like a 3rd grader. You MUST wear shoes on the ramp to the beach. Do not enter the pool after it is closed. We will arrest you. Do not let your child <12 in the hot tub or we will fine you $100. One lost metal key is $100. The place needs a makeover and there is no handicap access to the beach. For the price I paid for a Gold ocean front, it was not worth it. I must say that the staff are very friendly, though . But that is not enough for me to return. Signs could be more amenable instead of punitive and threatening. The stairwells are dirty and the elevator is slow."

"Son and family loved the beautiful and scenic condo.
This condo was up to date and a real home away from home feeling for my son and his family. We rented another one down the hall and they said this was the better of the two. The wrap around patio gives a gorgeous view. Very happy with our Christmas family vacation. Would love to do it again!"

I, my husband, my sister and brother in law stayed in this condo. We had family members in others as well. It was a good week. Most of the condo has been upgraded and very comfortable, included bedrooms. Love large refrigerator and full size washer and dryer. Third year in this condo and love the full ocean view. Very peaceful. One suggestion - time to consider new more comfortable couches. Otherwise loved our stay. "
