FALL 2022 - NEW FURNISHINGS AND FRESHLY PAINTED! With a balcony accessible by the living room and master bedroom, guests staying in Shorewood 137 enjoy a partial view of the Atlantic Ocean as well as the courtyard & Shorewood pool area. After hours in the surf, vacationers return from the ocean via Shorewood's beach walkway and then dip into the freshwater swimming pool or a seasonally heated spa. Pool is Heated March 1 - April 30 and Oct 1 - November 30. Dates could vary slightly. Toddlers have a separate wading pool. Shorewood is a five story elevator building located in South Forest Beach. Among the amenities offered throughout Hilton Head Island, Shorewood is two blocks from the Coligny Beach Market, a quaint downtown area that offers guests a wide selection of restaurants, shopping venues, and entertainment for all ages. My only compliant is that the kitchen wasn't fully stocked as it has been in the past- no cooking sheets or pans for baking or cutting boards, some of the basics you look for. " May 25, 2025 - Gail Z., Strongsville, OH "137 Shorewood - Dirty unit & very worn king bed My family of 4 stayed at Shorewood 137 managed by Seashore Vacations for 7 nights the last week of March 2025, checked out yesterday. I booked this vacation only a few months prior and was able to secure one of the last remaining units in Shorewood. I choose Shorewood for the proximity to walkable shops and restaurants as well as the pool and beach. These are the pros for staying here. The cons. Cleanliness. The tile floors turned my socks very dirty, very quickly. The rugs need replaced and cleaned and swept underneath and vacuumed regularly. The bathroom floors and baseboards, very dirty. The area around the toilet in the bathroom is yellow from urine. The majority of the primary bath shower head was missing (something that was commented on in a review from June 2024). The primary bathroom sink has a large gap between it and the counter top. I addressed the shower head with management, it was replaced and the dirty floors were cleaned but still not well enough. As for the furniture, most of it needs replaced. The primary king bed mattress is very worn, with body impressions from use. The couch is worn. The unit only has light quilts on the 3 beds and only 2 extra blankets provided. Seashore Vacations lacks oversight. The most upsetting issue we faced was Friday morning, the main water was shut off in the building without any notice for 3 hours. I received a text at 10:17am and told the water was shut off at 10am to 1pm. When I called to ask why noticed wasn’t given so I could prepare for my day, I was told it was it was NOT an emergency just a valve replacement in another unit with a very “oh well I can’t help you attitude”. The location is the best on the island, oceanfront, zero entry pool, a short walk to coligny, Lowcountry celebration park, the trolley stop, splash park, and Sedgwick’s market stand is right across the street with fresh veggies and peaches and seafood. Seashore vacation staff is always friendly and very easy to communicate with. The only thing I would recommend changing is the mattress in the main bedroom. It is sunken in the middle. The rental company had just taken on this property we were told. The place was filthy. Walls were marked terribly. Stains were on the curtains and bedding. Dirty sponges were left on the sink. Washer and dryer were filthy and had an odor. Towels were stained. Floor had a film all over it. The furniture was broken down and uncomfortable. It ruined our week. I spoke to management about the condition of the place and all they said was, "we just took this property over." I understand that was the case, but a walk-through should have been done, and management should have come to look at it when we complained. The unit has a lot of potential. It has good bones, it just needs a lot of work. We have rented from this property management company for over 10 years, and we have never been disappointed with our rental until now. Great selection of games. Big beautiful tv. Negatives: the unit is in dire need of a deep clean. All the air return and vents were coated with dust. All the cabinets were very unorganized, and appear to have contain everyone’s leftovers. All our towels smelled like smoke and mold, so we had to wash them before using them. The floors are filthy - all our feet were black within minutes. Not so much crumbs and sand, but dirt. All the cookware sticks like crazy. Even with copious amounts of oil or butter. All the lightbulbs are mismatched. Some fluorescent, some day time, some soft white. They keypad lock on the unit’s door is REALLY finicky. It usually took 3-4 attempts for it to work properly.
