Cancellations within 46-90 days will result in the loss of the 40% deposit unless we are able to re-rent the Dwelling for the same rate and time period. No refunds will be made for cancellations received 45 days or less prior to arrival unless the Dwelling is re-rented for the same rate and time period. The proximity to the beach was amazing and we loved the heated pool (a must in March). The house itself has a 1970's layout, which you can probably tell from the pictures, so it is a bit of a trek getting from the main living area to the pool. You have to go down a flight of stairs, out the front door, and through a car port. First world problems, but it's a bit wonky. The house was clean, but definitely had an old cottage smell. We could even smell it on our clothes when we got home from the trip. Some area rugs in the main living area and bedrooms might make it feel a little cozier. And hanging the TV over the fireplace, so you can see it from the main sitting area, might make that space more functional. Like I said, overall we had a great time. The beach, the pool, and Hilton Head overall is amazing. If we come back, next time I'll probably start my VRBO search a little sooner and look for something a little newer." The pool and spa were beautiful and our kids had so much fun swimming in the afternoons. We spent our mornings at the beach which is so convenient literally a 2 minute walk. We normally enjoy going to the beach club but we preferred just being in our own little stretch of beach where we had chairs and umbrellas set up by the lifeguards. We also rented bikes through Sea Turtle Getaways (which is a must in Hilton Head) as well as bins of toys for the kids which were a hit. My only suggestion would be to change the blinds in the downstairs bedrooms to a type which can allow some light in and also privacy. It felt a little dungeon like in the downstairs bedrooms, but other than that it was a wonderful home that we’d definitely be interested in staying at again." Only a handful of forks and knives. ONE spatula. The pans were so old the teflon surface was scratched up, couldn't feed my family using those. This place would be 5 stars if they addressed the cleaning and stocked the kitchen up. The location was a dream!!! Beach was a short walk from the house. The pool was incredible, the deck was gorgeous. Would definitely stay again if the other issues were addressed. Bedrooms were nice size and our beds were very comfortable. We loved the screened in porch! The location is great and steps from the beach and also the bike path. The only recommendations I have is it would have been great to have an additional refrigerator on the property and access to the elevator would have been so good for my oxygen dependent father. It could use a good deep clean, but, I know that Covid and the nationwide lack of work staff effects this. We have stayed in Florida a couple times this year, so I half expected that would be the case. We unexpectedly had to check out a day early and the lady I spoke with when doing that was so very nice. The location of the home was really good. About a 2 mile bike ride to Harbor Town and a 1 mile bike ride to South Beach. We were a short walk to the beach, even short enough to carry chairs and surf boards. Overall the home was in good condition. The living room and porch furniture was new and comfortable. We loved the screened in porch and enjoyed that in the evenings and when the rain occasionally blew through in the afternoons. The kitchen was well equipped, save for needing some tupperware containers to store leftovers. The grill worked well also. I notified the rental manager that the the rental is in need of new pillows on all the beds. They did supply new ones for the master, which were much appreciated. The overall layout of the home is a little strange, and there is only one king bed, not two as the listing stated when we booked it. Overall I would recommend the home." The pool area was one of the nicest pools that we have experienced at a Hilton Head property. The pool was clean, larger than most and there was a nice amount of space around the pool. There was a need for more lounge chairs for the size party we had but overall a nice area to the house. The walk to the beach was maybe 5 minutes which is not that bad when you have beach stuff and kids. You can also ride your bikes to the beach which is a huge help as well. The house served its purpose for the size of group we had. Two couples and 5 children and four bedrooms with bathrooms. It was great that each room had their own, updated bathroom. There was only one king size bed in the house which was a disappointment. At least one more room, if not two rooms could have accommodated a king size bed which would have been nice to have for better nights of sleep. There was an odor to the house that the owner seemed to try and mask with air fresheners, I noticed it as soon as I walked in the front door. I personally do not like air fresheners and it took some getting used to during the week. With the exception of the hardwood floors and one of the bathrooms, the house overall was clean. There were light bulbs burned out, but the kitchen appliances, washer/dryer all worked great. Unfortunately, I would not recommend due to issues spanning 2 days with the security/alarm system that shouldn't have taken so long to fix. The house could use some dusting and a 4 slice toaster would be a nice upgrade. Kitchen cabinets are disorganized so it makes it difficult to know what's available or find anything." Everything worked, and we had everything we needed. Our only complaints were the overall layout of the home, which we understand isn't anyone's fault. IT just didn't work well with 2 young children. Additionally, cleanliness of the home was not that great either. The home needs some renovation, and we found lots of bugs and roaches. The best part of this home was the screened in porch. The furnishings are pretty good overall as well. We travelled with our 2 young children, and grandparents, and so the pool access was not the best either. There was no locked gate to protect children from getting we had to keep a real close eye on them as well." We have 3 families (total of 10 with 4 kids) so we enjoy being in Sea Pines, having a pool at the house and proximity to the beach. This is a 4 br, so we put all the kids in one room. This house worked very well for us. The pool area was especially nice with waterfalls in the pool and a spa attached. We had the pool heated to be safe and it was comfortable all week. The screened in porch was also a great hit. We spent most of our time there when at the house and the furniture was very nice and there was plenty of room for everyone. No complaints about the house. It seemed to be well taken care of. We did have a problem with the ice maker and had to buy ice for the week ,but the rental company reimbursed us for that. We did have to walk down the street to get to the beach path (we're used to being a bit closer), but from there it was a short walk to the beach. Location is good for biking, except you do have to cross the main road when coming out to get on the bike trail across the street. Nice rides to Salty Dog, Harbour Town, Lawton Stables from here. All in all we were pleased with 12 Surf Scoter." We had 5 adults, three kids ages 5 and under all stay very comfortably. Bedrooms were very nicely done. Large TV in living area as well as all bedrooms. Bathrooms all modern appearing, nice tile work. Kitchen was good size, loved the washer/dryer. Spent most of our time at the pool, teaching kids to swim. We all had a good time. There are toys to play with and there were two beach chairs available. You can buy more locally or rent if you like. Outdoor shower at side of house with additional entrance. 5 min walk to the beach, most of the time walked barefoot. Beach was nice, very warm water in August. Pool has shade in AM which was nice, warmer in the afternoon. One table available with tent for shade. We brought another cheap umbrella for second table and needed this to keep the kids in the shade. Two blocks from a nice bike path, 5 min. 5 to 10 min from harris teeter or Publix Bring some beach towels/pool towels and apple/fruit peeler --would definately not heat the spa in the summer. It overflows into the pool and you will cook Cons: Need to place a password on the wifi (unwise to check email with open connection).
