This 5th floor condo accessible by elevator is direct ocean front with no obstructing views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is a private balcony off of the living room, there is a dining room with seating for 6. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook a great meal. Shorewood 504 has all the amenities you would expect on your vacation, flat screen TV's, wireless internet, washer & dryer, DVD player. The primary bedroom has a king bed and private bath. The primary bedroom also has balcony access as a bonus, perfect place to go out an have your morning coffee. The guest bedroom has two twin beds, and a full bath accessible from the hallway. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room. The complex and grounds are immaculate well kept and the pool is the best on Forest Beach! Heated in March & April, October & November. It is cooled in those hot summers as well!! Hot Tub and Children's Pool are located on the main pool deck. Bathrooms and outdoor shower station are located just outside the pool area. Shorewood is located on the south end of the island near Coligny Plaza. This area is famous for the many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Get ready to put your feet in the sand!!

This was one of the best vacation condos in which we have ever stayed. It had stunning, full views of the ocean from the living area, master bedroom and balcony. It was well laid out, well decorated and had all the things we needed in the kitchen. The pool/hot tub area was beautiful and not too crowded. There was just a short walk to the beach and we didn't have to cross any roads. The property was near Coligny Circle and all the shops, restaurants and activities there. We took long bike rides all over Hilton Head from the paths directly outside property. The management company went above and beyond for us on our vacation. We can not say enough about how helpful and responsive they were. We would absolutely stay here again and would use Seashore Vacations again to find a rental condo." We have stayed at Shorewood condos before, but we may not do so again. This time there was roof repairs going on all week, causing a lot of noise and detours around the condo complex. We were not informed this was going to be going on. We stayed there in October 2020 when balcony repairs were happening, causing a lot of inconvenience and we couldn't even use the balcony space. The condo itself needed some repairs-the ceiling fan on the balcony doesn't work, there's mold on the ceiling and a rusty vent in the master bathroom, & the mirror in the 2nd bathroom needs replaced. The price was too high for the condition of the condo. Also, we went to the rental office at 4pm as instructed to check in, only to be told we didn't have to do that because we should have gotten a text with details saying we could go directly to the condo. We never got that text until after 6pm when we were already in the condo. Very disappointing experience." The coffee maker was trashed, the pans have been abused. We brought our own. There wasn't enough silverware or decent knives. The toaster was new and worked fine as did the appliances (the stove was missing a knob). Just a little TLC would make this unit perfect. Just a few of the issues we encountered were: sandy counters upon arrival, with absolutely NO cleaning supplies. The kitchen was advertised as stocked and ready to cook meals. This is not the case. One of the large eyes on the stove has a broken knob, cannot utilize this eye. Does not have many standard kitchen items or they are old, i.e. spatula, etc. The garbage disposal drains very slowly and smells. Again, nothing to clean it with. The outlet in the main bathroom is not working. The powder washing machine detergent provided does not work in a front-loaded machine (we have this type at home). My husband's nice shorts were ruined. I cannot remember a rental we have stayed in through the years that did not supply a few very basic items: there were no extra blankets, no pen or notepad, and no starter coffee filters (we bought some and left them). We have stayed in other units at Shorewood and did not have these issues. Very disappointing stay for the price we paid for the week of July 4th." Overall condition is good, but ongoing maintenance seems lacking. For example screen door for slider needed lubercation to operate properly, drains in bathtub and kitchen needed to be cleaned out (very slow draining), several mats and rugs need replacement. The spaciousness and view more than made up for these shortcomings and we will be renting the same property again next season. Hopefully some of the aforementioned issues will be addressed by then. We found broken glass on the couch. Glad we did not set on it. The bathrooms were small and the master bath shower was quite forceful. The water stream was uncomfortable on your private parts. The light levels were very low. I would suggest replacing the 40w incandescent lamps with LED lamp. This would make reading at night easier. All in all we were disappointed with the unit. Toilet in the master bath never flushed properly the whole week and needed serviced, the door doesn’t close properly, nor does the one in the guest bathroom. Cleaning crew seems to rush and miss spots and had to be called back again to re-clean. There was still sand on the floor and unclean coffee tables when we arrived. The property management company made it right and sent cleaners out the next day. There are spots in the living room that needed patching on the walls and furniture could be cleaned. The expansive view from the family room and master bedroom is fantastic. It was a constant reminder that the high price tag was because of the great location and fantastic views. Overall, the condo was ok and we made it work. The sheets on the beds are microfiber and therefore had hair stuck to it from someone else but me. Though, they looked “clean” I stripped the sheets and washed them again myself. The baseboards and behind the side tables had quite a collection of dust bunnies also. The kitchen and bathrooms were impeccably clean. The couch upholstery as well as dining room chairs and large area rug were filthy. We didn’t call the mgmt company because we didn’t want to be interrupted with cleaners etc. and we were pretty certain they wouldn’t change out the furniture to rectify the problem. We took off the sheets off the extra beds and placed them on the furniture and made due. In addition, half way through our stay the smoke detectors went off in the middle of the night. Not having a ladder, we had to stand on a chair to take out the battery. We notified the mgmt company the next day that we no longer had batteries in the bedroom smoke detector. They said they would send someone to fix it. They didn’t. The location, the pool, the balcony made up for everything else and we still had a nice time. Our main goal was to get away and to not be bothered and that was accomplished. We would not stay at this property again until I knew the furniture and rug cleanliness was addressed or furniture replaced." The view is amazing and the size of the unit was perfect for our family. Unfortunately, there were a few issues: - We had to call the property management company to come out and clean the unit upon our arrival. I ended up cleaning the fridge myself before they came because we needed to get our groceries loaded. The bathrooms had quite a bit of soap scum. The floors throughout the unit had hairballs other debris on them. The kitchen appliances all had dirt on the handles and knobs. The pool towel that was left with the extra linens had a pretty gnarly stain on it. - The beach got really crowded because the public access is nearby. People from the complexes next to the public access all drifted in towards our space to try to get away from the crowded area. - The guest bathroom had a couple drawers that really couldn't be used because there wasn't enough clearance to fully open them due to how close the toilet was. The guest bedroom also had drawers that were either hard to open and close properly due to damage and/or had food/candy remnants in them. We've been coming to HHI for decades and had never stayed in this area. Several times during the week, we debated whether or not we'd return to this property or opt for our usual. With the pandemic, we'd love to give it another shot, but will likely pass. " Aug 03, 2021 - , Gahanna, OH "Great Condo We had a great time at 504 Shorewood. The views are as advertised. The Unit feels bigger with the top floor vaulted ceilings. It is completely updated! We found it very clean. Until we dirtied it in 30 mins :) The pool is big and nice. The walk to the beach is very quick and easy. You can rent umbrellas and chairs for $40/day on the beach. $20 if you have chairs. There are 2 in the unit but not very comfortable. We flew and didn't have as much stuff so just planned to rent. The only negative I'd say is not the unit but the complex. There was a huge group from Ohio (100 people) that was allowed to have a family reunion all week. At times they took over, especially evenings in the pool area where they treated it like their personal party space. No supervision of any kind from management. The kids just ran wild throwing every type of pool toy imaginable. Our drinks got knocked over and we were hit several times by flying footballs. Parents barley said a word to them. We didn't sign up to go to their reunion party. This shouldn't be allowed. Ask before booking if any large reunions are planned the week you are going. Our only slight criticism was that the sheets in the guest bedroom were paper thin and would not stay on the bed and the chairs on the balcony are very uncomfortable. Who would have emptied it if that had happened? If our granddaughter had been with us, she would’ve picked that up. We weren’t expecting having to deal with mice at the beach. When we called a number on our paperwork, she said she would notify someone but never did. Rental office owner was very nice, though. I would recommend but check first about mice problems. It is close to lots of restaurants and shopping. We love the bicycling too. The weather was great and the condo was very nice. There is a nice balcony outside seating area to sit and read or drink your morning coffee, with an overhead fan if it is warm. The pool is lovely also. I suggest the master bedroom have a new mattress, a bit soft and saggy. I highly recommend and would definitely return!"
