No refund if you cancel less than 14 days before check in.
The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

The unit was very clean. The beds were not that comfortable and the blankets felt like plastic. The pool was too cold to swim in (we went in October) and the management would NOT turn on the pool heater. "

"Okay
The unit itself is nice but it was not well cleaned before our stay.
Not family friendly with littles as there was not one plastic cup or plate.
No hand soap or dish soap. Bring EVERYTHING!
We could not use the patio because other tenants were smoking different things from sun up to sun down."

Condo was great, very clean and had everything you would need. It was close to everything we needed without being in a busy tourist area. Light traffic area making our stay quiet and restful. Access to the beach was great. The location is ideal, and we will definitely be going back!"

We loved this unit! We’ve stayed at this condo building several times but this is the first time for this unit. Everything was decorated nicely and we loved having the king bed and 2 full beds in the 2nd bedroom. The only thing that was missing was a hair dryer. A lot of the units had one so that is the only thing I’d add. "

Rental was exactly as pictured. Perfect for a family of 4. Terrific location with great beach access and a nice pool. Property was clean and well maintained. "Great condo HORRIBLE BEDS!!!
We’ve used Brooks and Shorey for a few years now and have stayed at multiple condos along Fort Walton. We’ve loved everyone and have never had a problem. This trip was wonderful except for the beds in condo seemed very old and cheap. They have zero support and would cave to the middle when laying down. We will definitely book through Brooks and Shorey again just won’t be booking this exact condo unless beds have been replaced."

"Great place to stay
Great place to stay. Very clean. The view was great.
The only con was no extra blankets and the door to the balcony had a raised piece on the walk way that you would hit toe on if you were not careful or the kids would trip on."

Hi,
We have stayed at the Islander for many years and enjoyed this stay as well. We plan on coming back to stay again. My only dissatisfaction this time was that the room smelled very musty when we first walked into it and any time that we were gone for a few hours it smelled that way when we came back. The only other thing was that I left the pool because there were people drinking and cursing there in the hottub. They had beer and lots of different kinds of alcohol in glass containers. I am all about having a good time and love to drink, but not in an environment where children are and I had my kids with me. It took 2 calls before someone came to tell them to leave. But, like I said...not enough to keep us away...we love all the amenitites and will be back to stay there again. Thanks, Diana"

"Bad experience!!
I have stayed at this resort many times before July2007 and it was very nice. July 2007 was a different story. My reservations were actually for June 2007, but because of a mistake in scheduling department we had a hard time making it to Ft. Walton. It wasnt' until I complained to the BBB and Chamber of commerce that I was allowed to reschedule. My husband had already scheduled his vacation for June and was not able to attend with us in July. This rates as the worst vacation that I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. "

"A Very Tranquil Stay!
I was traveling with two elderly ladies, one of which has lung cancer. When I made the reservations I was looking for a place that had an oceanview with easy accessibility to the beach but most of all peace and quiet. This place had it all.
Each day we took morning strolls on the well maintained beach, had breakfast and lunch overlooking the great view of the ocean from our condo dining room, returned to the shore midday to our complimentary umbrella and chairs and at night we a had wonderful night's rest in our quiet rooms.
This trip was very last minute due to my Aunt's chemotherapy schedule but we couldn't have asked for more.

On 2 separate occasions, we found a LIVE roach crawling on the wall by the couch.
this was quite gross..... just wanted to let you know that there may be a bug problem.
other than that, the condo was nice. we enjoyed our stay very much"

The condo's location was great and we felt safe. I think this room, 3002, needs some was kindof out of date. 80% of the dishes in the cabinet was dirty and we had to rewash them before we used them. We also saw several water bugs in the kitchen. Otherwise....we enjoyed our stay. "

We enjoyed our stay very much. They do need to add another table in the grilling area. The new beach chair company wasn't nearly as nice as the one in the past. We have stayed there for the past 4 years and the guys always set our chairs up where we wanted them and marked them reserved.They wouldn't do that this year."

We really enjoyed our first time stay at the Islander.The condo and facility was very clean and updated. The only part that did not reflect the cleanliness were the dunes out by the pool where the trash needs to be picked up.The pool was cleaned daily

We stayed in this unit Aug 1- Aug 5 2011 and it was a great unit....view was incredible..there were a couple of minor problems but maintenance was there within the 1st hour of our arrival and fixed the problem..I would stay in this unit again "
