When staying in Unit 4007 at the Islander you can truly take in the sights and sounds of our Emerald Coast from this private patio. Get up to enjoy the sunrise at least once to experience the oranges, pinks, reds, it will absolutely take your breath away. Your fourth floor patio is just perfect for coffee, tea, AND 5:00 drink times. Be able to keep up with everyone in the group when you stay in 4007 as you are within eye sight of the pool area. Enjoy the STAINLESS appliances in the kitchen when you want to entertain in a night IN and cook up something special. A HUGE perk to renting a vacation home, you can save on meal time but indulge on VIEWS! Even the chef can enjoy the views throughout meal prepping. 4007 will be stocked with all your basic cookware, pots and pans, as well as cups & silverware. All appliances you need are open to you. TWO KING BEDS in this condo and the two bed/bath layout make it perfect for two couples. Each bedroom has a private bathroom. PVC furniture on the balcony and a card table make it pleasurable for all. A dream vacation just waiting for you!

Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. A quick stroll across the boardwalk puts you right on the beach! All guests have Free High-Speed Internet access in their unit, as well as wireless Internet access in our lobby.
Islander Beach Resort has a two vehicle limit.
The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

The 100% cancellation loss can be avoided if: (1) Red Sky rental vacation insurance was purchased and the reason for cancellation is a reason covered under the travel insurance; or (2) Brooks and Shorey Resorts can re-rent the unit for the full term of the original rental period, in which case the guest will be charged 10% of the total paid as rebooking fee. Prior to arrival, if a guest has to shorten their stay or change their unit, normal cancellation penalties may apply, whether they are insured or not. Refunds issued by Brooks and Shorey Resorts will be issued no more than 30 days after departure date of original stay. Refunds are payable to the guest within 30 days after the subsequent re-rent payment has cleared our account.

Really nice unit that has upgrades. It was very clean aside from the carpets in the bedrooms need replaced or at least cleaned as well as the area rug. The beds were the most uncomfortable ones Ive ever slept on they feel like a box spring with a mattress pad. We visit multiple times each year and Brooks and Shorey are the best as always and take care of any issues that arise. "

Our experienced was so great! My only complaint was that the slider door was very difficult to open and close to the balcony and the cable it working half way through our trip. I know the cable situation sounds silly because you’re on vacation but we had small kids who wanted to watch tv and could not. "

"FWB Dance 2023
Visited FWB for a 2023 dance competition and picked this location because of proximity to Convention Center. It was great! The beach and water were fabulous! Kenny and the beach chairs were definitely a plus! The pool was clean and pool area was clean as well. The hours for the fitness center have a little to be desired...it is only open during business hours 9-5 and we are early risers and start the day with activity...not able to use the fitness center because it was only open during “Prime” beach time or while we needed to be at convention center. As for unit 4007, great unit! If I were to be nit-picky...the trash cans under sink need the mechanism secured so trash can don’t fall out every time you use the trash cans...I ended up pulling one out and sitting it in the kitchen. The paint (or wrap) on cabinets is peeling. If you are visiting and like the room cold, this place is for you, but if you like several blankets...you need to bring your own."

Condo was clean and updated. Only thing I had to ask for was we only had 5 bath towels for 4 adults foer a weeks stay. Called the office and they brought some extras immediately. Not sure I agree with only 2 Beach chairs for condo when you have 4 adults that are staying in a 2 bedroom condo. The charge of $30 per day per extra chair was definitely a surprise. But other than these 2 things, our stay was very nice. "

"Photos can be deceiving
Overall, a disappointment. The photos looked nice and the location is great. But the place is old. This was evident when we showed up by the exterior looks and the smell of the unit (like ingrained smoke from decades past). I seriously question the cleaning of the unit since there was hair on the couch and pills spilled on the bedroom floor. There’s also deferred maintenance even though this unit looked updated in photos. The A/C vent and fridge both had a lot of rust on the front and the kitchen cabinet was broken with paint stripped off. Unit and fees are pricey so we simply expected more. Left early and stayed at a different property. "

The unit was nicely updated amd had everything we needed. Only complaint would be that the beds are super firm. The location is on the quiet side and away fromnthe traffic but still close enough to the stores and eateries. Would go back again for sure.The fire alarm went off one night in the middle of the night so that was fun evacuating a whole building with a baby : )"

"Well appointed condo
The condo unit was exactly what we were wanting and expecting. The check in was flawless check out was simple. The distance to restaurants and activities was great. Brooks and Shorey Resorts made the process very convenient.
Our only complaint would be the with the local government closing the beaches for Rip Currents when other municipalities remained open (same conditions). The closures seemed overly cautious. There is no point in traveling to the gulf if the gulf is un-available. This is not a complaint for the unit but for the area overall.
We would definitely rent this unit again, would just prepare ourselves for the potential of no Gulf access."

This condo was extremely under stocked. The Kenmore stove didn’t have a lower coil in the oven. Unable to use. No blankets, the Mr Coffeemaker was broken(grounds went everywhere), no bread knife, 2 sm saucepans and 1 peeling Teflon skillet. Staff was very friendly. Will not return! Beware! View was beautiful!"

"Fantastic Views
Our family loved this condo. Located right off the elevator and had the most amazing views of the sun rising, sun setting and of course the Gulf. Most beautiful white sand, clear blue waters and seeing sting rays jumping in the water. Every morning we sat on the deck and watched the dolphins pass by. Condo was very clean and spacious. My only complaint is that they didn’t have a complete set of pots and pans to cook a meal. We did enjoy eating at Asiagos, Great Bay Steamer (a little too expensive for us), Rockin Tacos (our favorite), and we had Thanksgiving lunch at Brotula’s (absolutely amazing). "

"Loved this condo!
This condo is clean and beautiful and just like the pictures on the website showed. It had the perfect view to the ocean with being in the middle on the 4th floor. It had all the kitchen appliances we needed along with plates, silverware, paper towels, etc. We had 3 light bulbs out in different areas and maintenance was quick to respond and get them replaced. There was a leak in the laundry room coming from the washer and maintenance came out and fixed it quickly and professionally. The only item that needs to be replaced is the screen door to the back patio - it was ripped when we arrived. The location was great as it was close to multiple shops, grocery stores, and not far from Destin. We would definitely stay in this unit again in the future!"

"Islander 4007
I vacation to Okaloosa Island every year and this was my favorite condo by far! It was so spacious and so clean! We received our check-in code 2 hours earlier than was expected which was great! The location was perfect and the views were spectacular. The balcony overlooks the pool...I was initially concerned about the noise, but when you are inside the condo you can not hear a peep from the pool.
Some of the added perks to this condo compared to others is that it came stocked with plenty of towels, trash bags, toliet paper and kitchen cookware. The bathrooms were also stocked with travel sized lotion, shampoo and conditioner and there was also one package of dishwasher detergent and one package of laundry soap. Historically, all of those items are additional things I have to purchase at the store. It was greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It was an easy walk to the pool and to the beach. The beach service was also wonderful. He was very poliet, professional, and welcoming. We loved the beach chairs and umbrella right next to the water.
We observed a lot of the staff throughout the property from the maids, the grounds keeper, trashman, pool staff, and construction staff replacing bricks at the pool....everyone was so nice and professional. The grounds, the pool, and the beach were so clean and you could tell that the staff strived to maintain the grounds each day.
I have zero complaints about this property and I am looking forward to booking it again in the future. My only suggestion is that I wish there were some blankets in the condo for curling up on the couch at night or for added weight on the beds for sleeping, but this is not a deal breaker. I could always buy one at the store on my next visit. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. ✈����⛱����"

We enjoyed our stay in the Islander 4007. We had 4 condos for our family, and 4007 was about in the middle for quality of furnishings and comfort. There is no sink disposal, which the other 3 units had. The furnishings are old but still comfortable. The living area had a couch, love seat, and chair, so seating was adequate. There were 6 table chairs but no bar stools. The balcony needs a high table and chairs to see over the rail to better enjoy the view. The other units had that. The unit was clean, and the island decor was old but nice. Overall, it was an enjoyable unit. Everything worked, except the bathtub drain in the en-suite bathroom was extremely slow. I would stay in this unit again. Put that tall table on the balcony. "

"Nice condo and beach but...
The condo was really nice. Clean, roomy, great view. Balcony large and comfortable. But after we booked we received an email saying they would be working on the walkways during our stay but it should have no affect on us. Well holy cow it was awful. LOUD sanding noise all day even in Saturday starting at 9AM. Couldn’t converse because it was so loud in the condo. Had to yell. Should have been informed of this before we booked. Is that the rental agency’s fault? I would stay here again but I would make sure no maintenance was being done first. "

"The Islander
This was our first time to visit Okaloosa Island. We loved it. The beach was not as crowded. We loved that the room came with 2 complimentary beach chairs. The rental experience went smoothly. We also loved we didn’t have to go to a different facility to pick up parking passes, etc. The unit itself was good enough for our family. The 2nd bedroom closet doors liked to come off their tracks. One outlet in the kitchen did not seem to work. The shower rods were rusty. Overall the condo was great with no real issues. We loved the view and enjoyed being right above the pool. Also, the elevator wait was never bad. "

"Beautiful Condo
We were so pleased with the condo, with the exception of the bedroom carpets. They need cleaning! Our feet were black after walking on them. The kitchen also needs some storage containers. But, the condo was really cute and comfy. It was very clean (with exception to the carpet) It was quiet and the views were awesome! The pool was great and beach access was the best! We had to leave due to Michael, but we will be back! I would give 5 stars if the carpet wasn't in such bad shape. Thanks Brooks and Shorey!"

"Great Beach Week
The weather was rainy off and on but we were able to enjoy the beautiful beach for a while each day. The condo is very nice and was clean. The only suggestions I would make would be to purchase a few good knives and although you are told to bring paper towels it would be nice to have an inexpensive starter roll as there were no paper towels at all. We enjoyed this condo and would stay again."

"Pretty close to paradise
The view from our room was breathtaking (and is the same for every room at the resort). The beach is clean and well cared for by the staff. They were always happy to help and made sure chairs and umbrellas were set up early in the morning. The pool was also very clean--we watched them scrub/vacuum the pool and test the water every morning. We loved the convenience of being a short drive to restaurants in Ft. Walton Beach and Destin, but definitely far from the typical Gulf crowds. The amenities included in our package (the discounted rates for boat tours, snorkeling, movies, etc.) were big helps in getting our family to experience some more of what the area has to offer. I can't say enough about what an amazing experience we had, and recommend this resort enthusiastically."

We stayed with our daughter, son in law and granddaughter. The unit had plenty of room for us. Only problem the guest room was a little tight with the pack n play. My only suggestions is blackout curtains for the bedroom windows as we like it really dark when we sleep. We definitely would stay again."

"Enjoyed the property.....but unit was dirty mess
no one told us the sink was leaking in the kitchen and they had a bucket under it, we had to find out the hard way once bucket was full and we had to clean up a mess.YUCK, the dinning room chairs where so dirty we never sat on them, the carpet in the bedrooms super dirty, feet got black just walking on them and there is no way the cleaning service swept or mopped any of the floors, ceiling fans had BLACK dirt on them 3 inches thick and Zero hangers in the closets to hang any clothes, living room furniture was nice, more dirt to report, but I am out of characters to type"

"Nice family friendly property
The Islander is a nice property. This particular unit was very clean and comfortable. This unit is also right over the pool and has a beautiful direct view of the beach. We chose this unit because it allowed us to keep an eye on our teens from the balcony. Parking was easy and close. The complimentary beach chair service is nice too. "

"Beautiful Location-Less than Adequate Condo
The living room couch & love seat were both filthy from sunscreen. Floor tiles in kitchen were chipped and not clean. Three light bulbs were burned out (we changed two but could not find a third bulb). The phone was not working...we called twice for maintenance and no one ever came. Didn't have phone service the entire week. Vertical blinds were not functioning properly and had slats completely missing. We asked PRIOR to booking if they ever had complaints because of noise as the pool is located just below the unit's balcony. We were told it should not be an issue. It was an issue until 10:00 almost every night. Twice we had someone ring the doorbell...once it was kids running the hall ringing all the bells and the second time it was a exterminator wanting to enter the unit to spray for bugs.
Did I mention we were there for a funeral and would have preferred less issues from a condo that was certainly not up to required standards at this price point.

"Fabulous vacation getaway
We had a wonderful stay here! The condo was very clean and well decorated. The fully furnished kitchen made cooking meals quick and easy. Not to mention, the fabulous view from the balcony overlooking the beach made for a great place to gather and enjoy our meals. The beds were very comfortable and the en suite washer and dryer were very convenient. We plan to return in the future and will be renting this unit again! MUCH better than staying in a hotel. We had a great time. Location of condo is very close to elevator with a geat view of the pool, beach and Gulf. Condo was just like the web pictures very nice and clean and worked great.
Short drive to restaurants and grocery store.
Brooks and Shorey was very helpfull when you call and send emails that are very helpful in process. They also have a phone app that is full of information after you rent. I would certainly rent unit again. "

"a couple complaints
The condo was nice. Had a problem with air conditioner freezing up. This led to a small water leak.This was taken care of. A couple of the amenities need changed. The movie portal did not work. we were told to go to a different condo facility that was not close to ours. There was no sign on the machine that it was not working either. The free golf course is horrendous. Shalimar may have been nice 20 years ago. now it is awful."

"Great location, great condo, just a few issues.
The location was great. Amenities on the grounds were good...except there was a pretty big disconnect between Brooks and Shorey Resorts and Islander Beach Resort. We received a DVD rental card, but it didn't apply to the DVD rental box that was on location. We had to go to some random restaurant about a mile away. Not worth it so we didn't even use it. There were no linens for the pull out sleeper sofa. We had to call Brooks and Shorey. Someone arrived with linens within the hour. The actual sleeper sofa was awful! It was old, stained, and the most uncomfortable one I've ever felt. Needs to be replaced asap. There was only one extra pillow--good thing a few of us brought our own. Also, the lady at the front desk wasn't very helpful with anything except saying "call Brooks and Shorey". It would have been nice if they could have accommodated with issues insight.
Overall, good stay just a big disconnect between the property and property management. "

"Great location in need of some improvements
The check in process at the property management office was very easy. The young lady who processed our check in was very knowledgeable but sounded like a recording with a monotone voice in sharing the usual information about the property we were checking into. Yes, it is the "high season" and busy but we were the only ones in the office and felt rushed.
Property was a great location with excellent beach access. The unit was above the pool so you do hear people noise but folks did mind the curfew rule which was At 10 pm.
As for the unit amenities, coffee pot needs updating as you cannot pull out pot to pour one cup, it continues to drip. If possible, bring your own pillows. The ones there were flat as a board. Dryer made a loud noise when you started it and we had issues with the TV screen showing the picture when you turned it on. Housekeeping could do a better job as we found some food under the couch. Cabinets doors and light switches had a build up of dirt on the ledges and could use a good wipe down. Over all the unit was okay for a short stay but for the price, I would be disappointed if our stay was longer. "

Beautiful view...condo was nice but not exceptional...information and check in at Realty Company was helpful... check in at Islander location was not friendly...woman working at desk was having a conversation with someone and totally ignored me for about 5 minutes... I had to move closer to them and interrupt to get my parking tag...and why do you need two?... why can't renters use the DVD machine on the premises instead of having to drive down the street?"

We have stayed at The Islander on several occasions and have never been disappointed in the condos or the service. This condo was very clean - the only exception was one of the comforters on one of the beds did not appear clean. The comforter was picked up almost immediately to be cleaned when we contacted the management company, but it was never returned during our stay. It would have been nice to have a clean replacement. Other than this minor complaint, we were very satisfied and had a wonderful time. The beach and the weather were beautiful, and it was thrilling to see the dolphins so close to the shoreline - we had never seen them so close before."

I have stayed here many times and have yet to be unsatisfied. The location is great and the condo was very nice. The pool is large and I like that it is on the beach side of the building. I was a little disappointed, however, to discover the hot tub was removed. It wasn't really warm enough last year, but at least it was there. Overall, great stay and I will be back!"

"Family Vacation
We rented 5 condos in the Islander Beach Resort for our yearly family vacation. Every one of the units was very clean. One of the units only had a small sofa with two chairs in the living area but the others had sofa, love seat and at least one chair. The patio furniture was old in a couple of the units. The pool, beach access and views are fabulous!
The "beach boys" were very courteous and helpful. Every day they put our chairs out in a semi-circle like we asked them to on the first day.

It has been years since we'd been to Fort Walton Beach and decided to go there this year as opposed to Gulf Shores. Found this property available for the week we had planned for our vacation. We really loved this unit! The location was excellent! The extra-large balcony overlooking the pool and beach was an added plus. There was plenty of room for four adults to sit around the table for a meal and still have room to walk around the balcony. The unit itself was very roomy and was furnished and maintained very well. The king-size beds in each of the bedrooms were very comfortable. We will definitely be coming back to this unit and use the property agent again! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!"

This was our first trip to Fort Walton Beach and we had a great time! The condo was wonderful! There were so many perks: the location to the elevator, the large balcony, the fully stocked kitchen, and the nice bedrooms. The pool was great, too! We also enjoyed having two chairs and an umbrella waiting on us at the beach each day. We certainly recommend this unit and we hope to go back soon! "

We really enjoyed this condo. I only have 2 complaints. First, the tile floors need a good bleach scrubbing. With two small children running barefoot, the tile turned feet black quickly. Also, the elevator is slow and HOT!!!! Neither of those things ruined our trip, and I would happily stay here again!"

We always love staying at the Islander and stay in the same room. This time it wasn't as clean as it usually is. Dishes were put away wet and had puddles of water in-between the plates and pans were not cleaned well. Corners and edges of floors need to be cleaned better. Not enough tp for a whole week's stay for 4 people. We love the pool but dislike people smoking and drinking around it. We will continue to stay at these properties though...great beach location..."
